This is a legitimate company.  I called them back and talked to a guy who led me through a verification process (phone number address etc...)  They did not ask for any crazy stuff like credit card number, account numbers or personal ID stuff.

They didn’t tell me where the job was located, but said it was in my area.  The guy told me after I finished the verification that I would soon receive a phone call for an interview.  It took the company almost a week to get back to me.  Sounds good to me…

My guess they are looking to those who wish to better their education.
Was told by phone the Verification process takes up to 45min. When I was asked about education the highest level and answered vocational/technical rep ended the call. Only applied for Technical Support Customer Service!

I have received two phone calls from this phone number. The message is from a man named James from Career Network.  He says that he needs to verify information.

Does not sound legit at all!  Don't do it... Yes, your name, address and phone number is en ough to be a victim of Identity Theft.

I desperately need a job, but when I heard this man speaking with a thick accent, it did not sound credible.

I rec'd a call from this number this morning. I didn't recognize the area code, so I let go to vm.  There was message left by a man with a heavy Indian sounding accent indicating that he needs me to verify info on my resume so it can be then sent on to some employer. (no employer name supplied). I then called the number back out of curiosity, and got a recording inidicating that they are a verification company and please hold, and be in front of my computer when the next operator becomes avaialbe.  I bailed.

Just got a call from them today-the call was about 4 minutes long-
they said it would take up to 45 minutes. She didn't ask me any personal info other than street address but after 4 minutes she said she'd be forwarding my information on-and then hung up. No "thank you for your time". just click. scam? probably.

I got a call from this number today. They didn't leave a message. After reading other comments, I am not sure if I should call back. I have been applying for jobs, but I doubt this is legit. I haven't received any follow up calls(so far). Correction: I just found out that on a separate occasion, I missed the same phone call, but it was from a different number. I don't think they'll be getting a call back. Seems a bit too shady for me.

If you don't return the call, they call you back... every 30 minutes.  No joke... even after asking them to take you off their list, they don't.  Might have to change my number if it doesn't stop!

I just received a call from the same number.  There was no message left and I don't plan to return the call.  It seems suspect to me now that I have read all of the messages left from all of you.

Just got a call from the same number as everyone else posting here.  I let it roll to voice mail, then checked it.  It was some guy with an English or British accent from a company I couldn't understand saying he wanted to verify info.  I googled the phone number & found this site.

To those of you saying the people from this number only verified address & phone number and you feel like that's not enough to steal your identity:  Guess what?  You're wrong.  A name, address, and phone number is enough for a crafty thief to steal your identity.  I currently work in retail and do the hiring for my store.  People's names, addresses, and phone numbers LEGALLY are personal information and my coworkers and I work hard to ensure that information stays under lock-and-key whether it's for credit/debit purchases or new applicants.

Be smart!  What employer or online school even wants that information right off the bat?  A true employer will explain to you about the job clearly.  An online school will explain the programs to you.  They would want you to be clear so you can make a choice.  Or they would explain that you'll be mailed information (if it's an online school), and then will actually send said information!

This is probably some scam where they collect personal information and then sell the lists to other shady people.  It happens!

My friend just called me and told me about this "interview" she just had on the phone from this number. I informed her that an interviewer would have more than "verifying her info" for a phone interview. Scam for more solicitors to harrass you and sell your information. Don't verify anything to anyone you aren't SURE that YOU initiated!!!!! SCAMO!

I applied for a job with an agency called Sure Jobs Network in late August 2009. I received a call from this number in mid-September and the person represented himself as being from Sure Jobs Network and he said he wanted to verify information in my application. He asked me verification questions about the information I disclosed in my application anyway (address, phone number etc.) after that he said me that my resume would be sent to a prospective employer (he refused to name the employers because of confidentiality concerns) and I will be contacted should I be chosen for further recruitment steps.

To summarize, this was a useless call as the person calling didn't get any information he hadn't known in advance and he didn't ask for any information that may compromise my identity.

So for those of your who don't mind spending 5 minutes chatting with a person who can SUPPOSEDLY help you find a job, go ahead - it's pretty safe to take this call. For those of you who don't believe that Sure Jobs Network will be of any help - don't waste your time.

I just received a call from this number.  This area code is for Washington D.C..  I live in Illinois.  I find it really hard to believe that an Illinois company would use a firm from Washington D.C. to recruit employees.  Regardless of what they are asking, I would think twice about verifying any information for someone that isn't willing to tell you where they are.

I've had several calls from this number, but have not picked up because I wasn't familiar with it. After reading the other comments, I'm sure whoever they are got my cell# thru all of my job searching online in recent months. I don't plan to call them back or pick up any future calls - it's a waste of my time.

Didn't ask for any personal questions like ss number but why would she ask if I was interested in continuing my education I have a bba. Also I'm in Texas why is this area code from up north? Seems like it's a recruiting company for maybe an online school. Supposedly I should be expecting another phone call for an interview..  I'll keep yall updated

I too received a call from this number, the girl said she need to verify name address and phone numbers for jobs applicants. After asking to verify my phone number the call disconnected. I called the number back, spoke to a guy. He indeed stated a job, court clerk, that I had applied for with the state. Not sure how they would have that information if it was a scam. Where would it say what I had applied for? If the state does indeed call me for an interview, I will come back to this site to let everyone know.

I submitted an application about 2 weeks ago for a medical assistant position.  I received the call this morning and spoke to a lady who wanted to verify my information.  After verifying the basic information she then asked me if i was interested in furthering my education as a medical assistant.  she gave me the phone number for some course advisors which has sent me information on colleges that provide the training i am looking for and to where my training may be completely free.  If i hear from the human resource department with regards to the job i will get back online and advise you all.   As far as now this is ligit.....

I just got that call myself.  I didn't pick up.  I never do when I (1) don't recognize the number and (2) it's an unrecognized areacode.  I have been looking for work and did applied to that sure job site.  However, I did not finish the applications.  Their questions on this site got annoying after the third page, so I went back and thought I deleted the info.  guess not.  Too weird for me. not calling back.  Glad I read all the above.

"They wanted me to call while at my PC to assist the process"

Be cautious with such request. This is the easiest way to do a "Parallel" link to your IP Network Address or residence internet. What this does is it enables them to "identify" the exact IP/Internet code address along with your personal information (phone, address, etc.). Doing this at the exact time, with the right knowledge, they could have an operator on the other end - accessing ALL your information on your PC and having "real-time" access to your network. Once they establish this connection, they may stay on for as long as they wish.

Just some food for thought - but don't take my word for it. Have a nice day :)
