They left a message and said that there was a restraining order against my husband (they knew his name) what a bunch of crap!

Just got a call from 202-803-4975. I didn't pick up and they didn't leave a message.

These  callers pretend that they from gov, grant  office asking  for money.the no#859-472-2043 or 206-445-0531

Just received a call from this number and picked it up on the first ring.  No one ever answered me.  I really wish the Do Not Call registry actually worked.  I sometimes think the entire thing was just a scam to GET your number.

Wait no that was for Shane, but again for everyone, I wanted to report my experience but also wanted to comment on the phone tunneling, virus issue and let you know that they call me on my land line phone.....I honestly do not know how it all works but maybe that would make a difference since you both have been talking about mobile phones????? let me know what you think about that, just interested.

I got a call on my landline phone, soooo I don't know about the phone virus thing, but they did tell me that I was picked for a Federal Grant (like some kind of drawing) my caller id said "WSHNGTNZN1     DC" He started asking for my information, I gave him a fake mailing address just to test out the conversation, he supposedly was trying to "confirm" my address but had me somewhere in NY, nowhere close to where I am actually from. Anyway, he asked for the state, when I told him he ASKED ME HOW TO SPELL IN!!!! I asked for his address, he gave me an address from the White House!!!! Also he did not know what a PO BOX was!!! so I said "if you are working for the federal government, how is it that you don't even know what a PO BOX is??? IT'S AN ABREVIATION FOR POST OFFICE BOX!!! AND HOW IS IT THAT YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO SPELL THE STATE????" His excuse was that he could not hear me well, it was RIDICULOUS!!!!! THEN HE GAVE ME A "GRANT APPROVAL NUMBER THIS PHONE NUMBER "206-462-5478" AND  TOLD ME TO CALL THIS AND GIVE THE NUMBER TO HIS BOSS "CHARLENE CLARK". TO TOP IT ALL OF WHEN I ASKED FOR HIS NAME, HE DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE IT TO ME. SO I SAID " YOU WANT ME TO GIVE YOU MY INFORMATION YET I CAN'T EVEN GET YOUR NAME???" AFTER A LOT OF PERSISTENCE HE FINALLY SAID " OK MY NAME IS BOB", I ASKED FOR HIS LAST NAME AND HE SAID "MY NAME IS JUST BOB" ......SO OF COURSE I KEPT PERSISTING AND HE FINALLY MADE UP SOME LAST NAME AND WHEN I TRIED TO GET HIM TO SPELL IT HE KEPT GIVING ME A DIFFERENT LETTER AT THE END, I WOULD SAY "S, AS IN SNAKE OR F???" THEN HE WOULD SAY "NO" AND SAY SOMETHING LIKE "CH" ETC ETC.
ANYWAY, WHO WANTS TO HELP ME F*CK WITH THESE PEOPLE, I AM SOOOO SICK OF THIS CRAP!!!!!! AND YES NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY WERE FROM THE MIDDLE EAST, SOMEWHERE IN THERE......

I just got a call from this number, however I didn't pick up because if I don't know the number, i'm not picking up. Whomever it was, didn't leave a voice mail and after reading mostly everybody's report, kinda glad I didn't, lol

I got a call on August 18, 2012 at 1:14 PM on my cell phone. After seeing the DC number I thought it could be legit call. I responded to the caller. He had a very thick foreign accent and hardly could speak English. He was claiming to represent US government. I am connected with different US governmental agencies. I immediately realized the whole thing was a scam. The guy was telling me $7000 was waiting for me and so forth. I said I was not interested. He expressed as if he was very surprised. The main fault of the scam was they hired somebody who could hardly speak English! Our whole conversation lasted 1 minute 19 seconds.

I hung up the phone after the man tried to get info about smoke detectors in my home and he called right back on a different phone and informed me he would call back EVERY time I hung up.  Almost intimidating...but I told hiom keep calling, I'll keep hanging up.  The second number he used was 240-353-0659

i just received this phone call. my phone was connected through bluetooth to the computer. so when this "female" called. the phone call got answered right away but she couldn't hear me coz i was far from the laptop. by the time i disconnected the blue tooth to speak from the phone the caller hung up. and then i googled the number lol. i should not answer next time

Called me today at1910 hrs... Said they were a survey and please do not hang up... Told them they violated the do not call list at which they hung up.  Showed call from cell phone D.C. in caller ID.  Could hardly understand due to heavy foreign accent

I received a call from this number this morning. I did not answer, and there was no message left. This is not the first time that I have seen this number come up. They called me on this number than called me again on a different number after I told him this was a cell phone and on the do not call list.  He got very angry that I swore at him... which I did after he would not hang up or take my number off the list,  well then don't arue that tis is a home phone when it is a cell phone.... just weird. Said they were checking to see if I had smoke detectors. (very hard to understand, heavy accent)

Have received several calls from this number claiming to be the government and saying they have 1,000s of dollars for me, and just need all my personal info

Received phone call from 202-417-7606, asked for me and I couldnt understand what company she said she represented but acted as a telemarketer and when I told them not to call me any more they went into a rash of cursings and hung up.

If this many people are receiving unwanted and unusual phone calls from this phone number then disconnect the number. It isnt a real telemarketer anyway.

I keep getting calls from 202-417-7606 and when I answer they hang up. Calling the number back says "not in service." I am reporting it as harassment.

Just got a call from this number.  Said they were from the federal government (didn't ask what country) and I had won money that they could give me with no fees.  When she asked (in very poor English) what I thought about that I said it sounded like a scam and I wasn't interested.  She hung up!!

The same thing happened to me, They asked for "is this Mrs. ------" then they hung up. When I called back I was told that the number is not in service.

This number has been calling me as well. They keep saying I am awarded $7k too however I know it's a scam. I pissed them off so bad by asking questions that a guy came on the phone and yelled at me  he said "f^ck you mother f^cker". Over and over again.  Only thing I said was that I doubt the us gov would speak to me in such a manner lol. It's kind of fun messing with them, sometimes I speak Spanish or pretend like I believe them and ask for their acct numbers lol

Just got called by this company. I knew it was a scam before they even started talking because i have been getting phone calls from them weekly. They will not take me off their list. So i took the offensive and asked them how their scam was working out for them. Their response was "Who the hell are you sir to think this is a scam??? do you even know why I'm calling?" I responded, "you probably want to give me some grant money right?" they sad "yes" so i asked. "how much money do you want me to send to get this grant" the caller claimed i don't have to send any thing and then said "if you don't want the money that is your problem" and hung up. Pretty sure a real US Grant worker would be a little more polite than to say "who the hell are you?" to a caller.

These people need to be caught and prosecuted trying to scam people out of their hard earned money. So sick of people like that.

Received a call from this #, broken english speaking, told of free grant. I said I'd call back, but no answer.  It probably from an Arab state. Sounded like it-totally bogus
