OK, So I may have had too much fun with this number. I receive calls all the time with people trying to scam me whether its to fix my computer or give me federal grants. This one was for federal grants and they made the mistake of calling with an actual number that calls back to them. For roughly 3 months, I have been calling them harrassing them and tying up their phone lines. They then blocked me and it went to a busy signal, so I used *67 and look at that it rang again to them lol. They just seemed to love it when I called. Got cursed at a lot, threatened and what not. They did not believe that my name was Raj Koothrapoli but I told him I didn't believe his was logan or Dan howley. Phone number has now since been disconnected and I get restricted calls. Hoping they mess up with a legit number from this country again lol. Can only report these numbers so much and have nothing done. Time to have fun with these clowns.

I received a call from 202-436-9100 and Christie told me I could receive a grant for 4800.  She said she worked with the US Government and Treasury Department.  I asked for a call back number and was given the 202-436-9100 number as well as a a 4800 approval ID number with K ("K as in cabin" she said) as one of the digits.  Lots of static on the line and a very heavy accent I could not identify.  I'm sure this is some sort of scam.

Recd call from that # saying I was chosen by the govt to receive a grant of $4800. I didnt have to pay taxes and didnt have to repay the money. I was asked to call that number back and given an ID#. I asked a lot of probing questions she could not answer and she said I had to call back and ask her supervisor b/c it was too many questions and she hung up. To probe further, I called back and a guy answered..no name..so I asked how they got my name and number and address and he said the government has all that info. I am supposedly 1 of 1500 chosen in the state of MD to receive the grant. I needed to go to a Home Depot or some other location that had Western Union. I asked why the govt couldnt just mail me a check since they had my address and he talked about me getting a security code and they'd send someone to the house with the check. Isaid I didnt need someone to come here and they could send it certified or registered mail to be sure I got it. He got belligerent and said they would give to someone else in need. I laughed and hung up.

Got 4 calls one right after the other this evening. I answered on the fourth call. Said Hello a few times, then they hung up on me.

I just called them back. They asked if a had some kind of approval number. When I said no they said someone will call me back. I told him to go f*** his mother, he said the same.

I missed the call and when I did call back I got a Middle Eastern guy with a lot of noise in the background. I explained that I missed the call and requested that they did not call me back and to take me off their calling list he hung up. It isn't the first time this has happened but from now on I will keep the numbers and report them to the appropriate athuorities.

Got a call from this number just a few minutes ago and the lady got on my nerves so bad that I made her nervous and she hung up.I guess she couldn't lie right tonight. Lousy scammers.

All of you folks are on point. I just received this call today and knew immediately that it was a scam. For kicks, I listened to what the young lady had to say, (barely speaking legible English) to call her supervisor, referencing an ID number. Obviously I wasn?t going to call the number that she provided. I pulled the Bing search engine and Referenced Government Grants 202-436-9100. Low and behold, there I met you all.
Nothing is free people...The cheat b*****ds only offered me $4800.00

CALLED MY CELL PHONE TODAY I DIDN'T ANSWER AND THEY DIDN'T LEAVE A MESSAGE.IT SAYS THE CALL IS COMING FROM WASHINGTON

Just got a call from Seattle (206) 906 1020 asking me to call (202) 436 9100 and get my federal government grant for $4,800 the caller spoke in a havy middle Easter accent and called me back twice figured it was a scam but reading this blog either would seem they are moving up and pretending to be the US Goverment now

I keep getting calls from this number as well as two others that says they are calling from the US Goverment and that I've been granted up to $7000. In school grants that I have applied for and when I tell them I have not they still say that I can get this money.
I've told them to delete my number for their records and that they are frauds. They will hang up but then a few days or weeks they call back from another number that may show up but most of the time it is unknown.
 All the people I've spoken to have a foreign accent. They tell you you can get this money if you give them your bank info or send them a prepaid credit card.
I'm not a stupid person this is a fake and fraud. I do have one son in college and another that will start in the fall but as of this time we haven't applied for any kind of aid from anyone or anywhere.
These people need to be stopped.

This number is still in service, as I just received a call from that same number. I didn't even answer the phone and immediately investigated the number. My suspicion was verified...SCAM.

Just got a call from this number, a Mr. Logan told me i qualified for a $5,200 loan and said i needed to spend it on school stuff or housing only. He had a good back story but ive never heard anyone with Logan in there name and work for the.government whose English was that atrocious, lol he was murdering the language. When he brought up western union i knew it was a scam so i started clowning him while acting interested, i think he was about to cry he was so mad when he hung up lol. I asked him why the.government wouldn't send me a check and expect me to have $190.00 but be giving me money? It was funny to hear him improvise in broken English. I told him hes giving his country men a bad name and he wasn't going to get his dot when he died. I think im about to prank call em abunch of times because im bored. People arent really this dumb are they?

this is a scam-the man asked if i want a FREE goverment grant for 4000.00, told me to go to a Western Union office and collect my money with a $170.00 to get the payment

This is a scam. They want u to send 150.00 for a government grant. Then 220.00 more. And they will refund u your money thru Western Union. Plus the grant money.

Contact the attorney general in your state and give them all of the information you have about the calling party. What they are doing is illegal, and if they happen to be in the United States, you can actually sue them and recover damages for harassment.

Receive these calls frequently.  Cannot understand them due to the inability to speak English let alone the constant static on the line.  How can I get these calls to stop???

They are scammers/extortionists working out of either India or Pakistan.   Ignore them. Invest in a call blocker.  Do not talk to them and DO NOT give them any information .  DO NOT send them any money or give them card numbers.

There's no way to stop people in India or Pakistan from initiating the calls.  But you can protect yourself with a call blocker.

They like to pick on single women, single mothers, the elderly and recent immigrants as well as established members of the Indian/Pakistan community.

Looks like a SCAM to me!  I got a laugh out of the comment that said they received money and yet their English writing skills definitely scream, "I'm not from the US."  Nice try Skippy!

When they called they said that I was approved for a $ 4800.00 grant that I had applied for. I told them I had never applied for any grant, and promptly told them that I knew that this was a scam. They hung up.

Got a call from this no. today; obviously a foreign sounding voice but I couldn't understand what he was saying because the connection was so bad.  Something about I had won $5K; told them I wasn't interested and to put it where the sun don't shine then hung up.

Yeah they called me and said I was approved for 4500 through some federal grant or something .....looked this number up, saw all the posts about it then asked to talk to their manager, she handed the phone to some guy, and I told them not to call me again, he still tried to say something so I stopped him and said, and I quote, "don't call me again **********, I'm not giving you any money and your not getting my information" he said whaaaaaaaaaaat? And hung up. Glad to say they haven't called back :)

I got a call on 4-1-2014 said that will get a grant for 7,500 and need i to send about 300 to get thing start it. And it will be in my account they got all my infromation online and on the phone. The FBI need to get them.

They called 3 times and the third time I answered it. I could not under stand what she was saying her accent was too heavy. So she hung up on me. And as I was typing this out they called again but did not answer it and no message was left. Not sure what she wanted but I am not interested in it. called id said Washington, DC.
