This needs to stop

My hubby just received a phone call from a heavy accented man claiming that my hubby was chosen to receive a government grant of $7500 and it doesn't need to be paid back.  He was given a number to call 202-436-9932 and also given a id number and the man asked him if he wanted it to be deposited into his bank account or use western union.  I told my husband that it sounded too good to be true and that it sounded like a scam!! Because I was listening to the whole conversation. Right after my husband hanged up , another phone call but it was from a toll free number for the same scam!!

However it was a female with a English accent. Are you freak'n for real. So I just along with it and hung up later.

Just got the call from a private number and told me
That I have just been award a grant for... Wait for it.... $7500 and I need to call this number to get cash. Told me to pay $300 to get it. I told them to take it out of the $7500 and send me the rest. They didn't like that answer and told me to call back when some one could pay it. The number I called was 202-436-9932. Scam city!

I just got a call saying I granted $12,000 dollars to pay bills and to go to a money frantic get my money that sounded really weird to me so I called and the gov. said they never called me!

Have looked this up and discovered it is a scam.  He had all my contact info somehow.  I am not comfortable with this.

I received a call today Feb 19, 2014 @ 10:19 am from phone number 377-777-3737 stating that I was selected for a 7500 grant from the US government because I had not filed bankruptcy nor do I have a criminal record. I was given a confirmation number of SM592 & told to call the account supervisor to conform my ID number & I could choose how to receive the money, either direct deposit to my bank account, or debit or credit card, or WESTERN UNION, I say Western Union LOL. I then let her continue her speil in her heavy Asian accent telling me how I can spend the money & asking me not to use it to purchase alcohol, tobacco or any illeagle substances. I said thank you very much and hung up & immediately called my wireless carrier & reported it, I am now contacting local authorities & news media.

Same thing just happen to my friend gave id# and 2024369932 number, did not ask for money, I would not have given him any money. These people think we are stupid...

I've been getting calls from them for like a year now non stop, one thing for sure they are not bright.

I just got this call from 0000000 i answered same as the others i was getting 7,500 well when i got to weatern union i was suppose to call this number and pay 300 security deposit to assure i got the money yeah right i looked it up first and bam here we are

They called from a number that started with 000. Told me I was selected for gov't grant of $7500.00. Told me to call 202-436-9932 with a confirmation # they gave me. I called, she answered, I gave her the conf. #, she said please hols, then took forever, so I just now hung up. Gotta be a scam.

just got a phone call from 0000121233( yeah go figure) It was kinda dark in the house when it rang. Anyways, guys name was mike johnson and of course he sounded middle eastern sounding and a fast talker. said that the government was giving me a grant for 7500 because of the area I live in. He gave me the same ol smeal that everyone else has posted on here. he said he needed a prepayed debit card to put the money on or I could get it thru western union. I chose w/u. He gave me a phone # (202-436-9932) and a w/u confirmation # aj806. instead of calling the number I found this online. Hopefully enough of these will shut these guys down.

I  got this call as well.  they told me I couldn't use the money for gambling...  when I called the 2024369932  number back they said they needed 290  to release the 7500.  when I asked why they couldn't just western union me 7200-  they hung up n  didn't answer when I called back from my number or my other number.  didn't ask for my ssn,  and if they thought they are going to use my identity, HAHAHAHA.  good luck with that...   surely won't get any credit,  or a good clean alias. guess they want people to give bank or credit  card info,  if they don't,  then they disconnect.  scam.

I wish there was some way i could block them they call from all types of numbers!  Stop calling me Victoria,Karen, sara Ross or Rose. Whom ever you maybe today. JUST STOP CALLING ME! I DON'T HAVE TIME OR ANY MONEY'S FOR YOU !!!!

They have buttons and their cab That makes the meter go higher They also say There car was stolen and take it somewhere so they can't collect insurance money they are very clever people

These a***oles come over here Marry are young girls Get them pregnant Don't have to take care of them Their last name is not Singh That is there God They own almost every store in America That's why our government is broke

They call me to, what I hate that these a***oles come over here they get government grants their self and open about 5 stores and also get food stamps to buy food fot their store and other free stuff

Got same 7500 grant call @12:15p 12/19/2013 have not bought off internet for 6 mo. Except last sunday bought from ereplacementparts.com. : Only people to have bolth phone,address+name. Was told to ask for Sara Ross.....

I received  this same call. The government pre selected 1700 people whom never filed for bankruptcy or had criminal records to receive $7,500, I knew it was scam then, I have disorderly conducts on my record from when I was 19 I am now 32. The lady then gave me a money ID number of BA177 and to call 202-436-9932 and talk with her supervisor with the ID number, she told also left me on hold for a few minutes. Came back and said I needed to pay a security deposit of $300 then go to any walmart to receive the money wich will come from Washington DC. I then asked why do I have to a pay a deposit for something I get for free or I won?! I was hung up on lmao good thin I didn't send money cause I don't have it anyway. Sorry to those that fell for it and is out the money. God Bless yous with good things to get it back, and may those that are doing this suffer.

I just got the phone call and I also told the lady who said her name was Victoria and she called from a 0000121233 number and said the same thing that I got the 7500 grant money. I also said I wanted it by cash cause I don't like giving my account information to people. She told me to go to my walmart and get a Green Dot card for only 5 bucks but I had to pay 300 dollars for a security deposit. Thinking I need to go to the police and talk to them about this so they can also warn the public. She also told me that she would put it on hold for me. I wonder if I call back if I will get the same beep beep beep as you did. I am happy I don't have any money to even get the green dot card or even the security deposit.

Yes I got the call black Friday. Being nieve, and a stranger on an unknown number, I coul d only make s*** up. Yeah I dont know what account number they got.  D O B who knows. The number astonishingly enough was on a busy signal loop.

Evidently the scam is on-going. They called me, too. Saying I won 7k to pay off my College bills because I'm not a felon and I've not filed for bankruptcy. They knew my FULL name and had my FULL address. I received a confirmation number and a call-back number also. SHE was foreign. SCAM SCAM SCAM.

Anything that asks you to pay by Green Dot Money Pack is a SCAM, as is any phone call that says you've "won" a contest you didn't enter. Looks like a double whammy here!

Got a call from this 202-436-9932 telling me I have won $7500.00 federal grant  money all I had to do was get a moneypak green dot card from walmart   in the amount of $290.00. gave me a conformation number to give them when I call back with thte card number. This sounded too good to b true. The $290.00 was to be used for proceeding fee but was going to get it back.

I just received a call from this number telling me I won a $7500.00 grant .I could use the money as I see fit. I do not have to pay it back. I was given  the money conformation number AD102 .To get the money all I had to do was get a greendot money pak card for $290.00 call the number on card in to phone number given and the  number on the pak to person and stay on phone while money is deposited from Federal Reserve Bank in Washington DC

I just got this call told me I had a grant of $7500. gave me a # to call her superviser ''Sara''202 436 9932 I ask her if it was a scam and she said no. she was calling from the US Fed Grant Dept washington D C.  I did not call

I just received the same call from a foreign man saying he was from the government. I was given 2024369932 to call to have my money released. I called talked to a lady who wanted me to send $289.00 to get my money. She said call her back when I got to western union because there were two forms I needed to fill out and she would talk me through it. She also said when questioned that the $289.00 would be returned with the grant. If it's free why do I need to send money to get it. All the bells I know in my mind are saying beware. I think I'll leave this one alone. I'm retired not crazy.

these guys knew my birthday, wanted my  bank info  or    cd  go to western union bs.... seriously I  hope someone is on top  of this crap.I  am concerned as they know  something's    and worried they are committing identity  theft on me as  we speak.
please don't  believe these callers... always use common sense..I  mean since when does the government call  you and tell you  you have free 7k  and  to please go to western union today  and take this money  off thier hands asap because  we like you?

just recieved phone call for same thing a $7,500 grant free from government f-d up like that would happen lol its a scam you guys dont do it. be careful they'll try anything
