202-738-1264 scam....I got a call late evening by a caller who knew my name and address and said I was one of 1,000 chosen by the gov't for a $7000 loan that I didn't have to repay and to call 202-738-1264 right away and give #CB205.  I did call and was told to call back at 11 next day.  Before I did I called the phone company to verity who the caller was and was told that it was a DC # but that there were scam postings on the web.  Sure enough, I was asked to send $330 by Western Union which would be added to my $7000 and sent back to me.  When I told the lady that she was a scammer she insisted that she was working for an Obama program, so I asked to speak to him and she hung up.   My phone is on "do not call" list.  Obviously the target of another scammer.

My dad told me never give out my information over the phone. But I have some medical dept, so when I got this call saying they would give me $7000 I gave them my information. Now my dad says I need to file Identity Theft charges because they have my bank account number and SSN. They first number they called from was strange, maybe foreign and they said to call this number. At least there already is no money in my checking, but changing accounts just in case. Bee sure to file with the FTC if you got this call too.

A "Daniel" called me and told me I that I had been selected to win $7,000. I was told to call 202-470-0931 and ask for a Claudius Smith. I was told to give my card info or go to a western union and pay $310... stay on the phone while they confirm and then I can go back inside to get the $7,310...

Sounded like a scam from the start and after reading more entries on here I feel as if my first instinct was correct.

When I question the "account manager" she puts me on hold & never got back to me.

So a lady just called me with some weird accent as well. She said I had $7,000 and all I had to do was call Debbie Bennett at 202-738-1264 and tell her my comfirmation number. I call the lady and she picked up and said Grants Department. So I told her that some lady just called.me talking about I have $7,000. She asked me for the confirmation number. I asked her "Is this a scam?" And the bi*** hung up on me. So here I am trying to call the number back so I can curse her a** put for hanging up on me. Smh, be careful guys.

I got a call too and the reason they use western Union is cuz western Union,
is easiest bank to scam.. Not only that but if it was government
you would not have put in 330 dollars just to confirm yourself

I called the BBB. They alerted me that this is a scam. I also called and filed a complaint because I am on the DO NOT CALL list. If any of you are also you should call because they have an ongoing investigation into this scam, and any bit of information can help!

I got an original call from a 770-926-5021 number, answered and then the person hung up. Shortly after I got a call from a 202-470-0931 number saying I had 7000 in grant money waiting for me and all I had to do was go to a Western Union and transfer $330 dollars to them before I could receive my money. Then she gave me the conformation number and told me to then call 202-738-1264. I called the 1264 number and talked to "Mike". It seems like a scam because
1. They just called me and today is Veterans Day- all government associated things are closed today
2. You should never have to pay money to get your grant money
And
3. They sent me to grants.gov which I then went to the contact info and called all of their numbers
, and just like I assumed- the government is CLOSED today. How convenient that the "government" is contacting me when they are supposed to be closed.....

Got a call from a woman with a Chinese accent named Amy, from 707-926-5021. When I asked what was the name of the government that was giving me a free $7000 grant, she said she would let me know later in the conversation. After a lot of BS me to talk to her "me nadger" at 202-470-0931 and that he would explain everything. Her English was so bad she pronounced the word 'manager' like "me nadger", with the emphasis on the second part of the word. She told me that I was one of 1700 in my state to be selected since I was of "outstanding character" meaning I had no arrest warrants, never filed bankruptcy, etc. I asked her if the other one million people in my state were corrupt? She told me to talk to the me nadger. Amy wanted to know if I wanted to be paid by cash. I said "sure send it to my home address". She said she could not send it there. She had part of my address correct and even after several attempts to tell her the correct address, she finally got it straight. She could not pronounce the city at all, even after I told her it was the same name as a city in New York. I pronounced it for her several times. She never got it right. "Call the me nadger", she said. I don't know why she needed my address if she was not going to send me the money there. I knew the me nadger would be asking for a bank account number so I never called him as knew immediately it was a scam. But I sure enjoyed messing with her mind! Like I told her, our government only gives money to the corrupt not to the law-abiding citizens like me.

That's kind of strange & odd that they want let you vote like or dislike with a thumbs up.
I. think it could be the scammers website. They ask you to register. I don't trust it.  
Then they will have all your most important vital info.

Just happen to me. So my advice to you is ask as many questions as possible. Also, ask them to repeat and listen how there demeanor changes. So don't. fall for it is all I say.

A female representative of whom ever she claims to be representing,  I believe could be of Indonesia descent stated my phone number & address came up random regarding a gov't grant monies.  Ask me
a few questions trying to get me to verify information. Told me when we're done talking that she will be transferring me to a different Rep. and to call the (202) number. But she didn't she just hung up on me.
  By this time I grew greatly suspicious but called the number. Some guy answered supposely try to state
who he's. representing in a very fast tongue(manner). Ask me for & to verify confirmation code twice. So I ask him to repeat it but he wouldn't and grew angry. So after i gave him a false code, he told me to call back. and he rebuttal im busy. I said why all of a sudden your busy after i given you the code you know, oppose to
before grew angrier and said whatever and hung up....
I was like wow....
So beware of those scammers out there people. I truly hope someone catch them
and prosecuted to the very fullest & harsh so spread the word and bring these. scumbags
to justice.

Just got the same call, but my flags went off as soon as she said the government wants to give me money.  Our government does not have any money to give!

Got the same call. Almost fell for it but in the end trusted my instinct it is DEFINITELY a scam don't be the poor soul who loses their money to these creeps!!! They claim to be the US State Department and the money is free no intetest or taxes. well they should know that the US State Department doesnt give out money and they definitely don't give out free money!! When I was able to sit and think without this guy in my head I realized that this was undoubtedly a SCAM and nothing more
