Ignore it.  The FDA does not do business over the phone.  If they had a warrant to arrest you they would barge into your office and put handcuffs on you.

The person who called you is a scammer.   He will offer to drop the charges if you pay him.  Don't pay him.  He can't do anything to you.

Earlier today a person named "Special Agent John Mason" called me from this number claiming to be from the Food and Drug Administration.  The FDA.. He explained to me that I was under investigation for buying Xanax on a website over the internet. He said about 2 minutes into the conversation that effective immediately there was a warrant out for my arrest in which he was going to be contacting my local authorities to detain me where I was going to be "deported" to the Dominican Republic from which the website was based from to stand trial before a Dominican Republic Judge. I was going to be charged with importation of controlled substances illegally from the D.R. to the United States and the maximum penalty I were to face was 3-5 years in a Dominican Prison.  First off, these scam artists are obviously quite ignorant.  The only way I could be deported to another country is if I wasn't a citizen of the United States and was living here illegally.  So it obviously made no sense when he said I was going to be deported.  Secondly, the only way I would be taken down to the Dominican Republic would be through an extradition process where officials from the D.R. would have to come up from their country and detain me and bring me back to The Dominican Republic.  The only way that this can happen is if I had committed a crime in the foreign country and managed to flee back to the U.S. Then the United States Federal Government would also have to give their consent.  The likely hood of extradition is extraordinarily unlikely unless the crime committed in the Dominican Republic was Murder, Rape or something like kidnapping and I managed to escape back to the United States. Obviously something like buying Xanax over the internet would not render such extreme actions and is silly to even consider.  To make 100 percent sure this was a scam I contacted a good family friend who is a district county Judge where I live who contacted the District Attorney's office and sure enough there was no record of any warrant out for me in the county or state I live in as well as no Federal Warrant.  I then called Phony Agent John Mason back and explained to him that my friend who is a highly respected Judge was able to find out that there was no arrest warrants anywhere and it was apparent this was all a scam and that he was committing extortion. He hung up!!  During the initial phone call I had hung up on him before he could get me to wire money to the Dominican Republic as a part of a plea bargain so that the charges would be dropped but I have read that these frauds have been successful in getting thousands of dollars from people by doing that.  Whatever you do if something like this happens to you DO NOT wire money or give them any type of Credit Card Number.  It is a complete scam and do not worry it is all a bunch of made up names and agents that are calling you.. It is not the FDA!

I got a message on my voicemail that said something about calling them back at this number. I can't remember the person's name but he said something about ordering drugs online and I was going to go to jail if I didn't call him back. I tried calling back but never got a response. I'm glad I saw this posting because I have ordered drugs online for sleep problems and not sure if that is illegal. It's been a long time since I've ordered anything but my guess is my name is on some list and they are trying to use it against me to scare me to sending them money. I won't and hope these guys burn in hell.

Received phone message from this jerk.. Special Agent Steven Gibbs of the FDA.  Said to call back to complete the "investigation".  If I did not that he would call the local authorities and they would take it from there and I could possible be arrested.  Called FBI.  A foreign scam using Vonage or the like.  They try to get you to set up an "account"  to lure the so called "prey".  Goofy f#$%s!!!

Hi Callahan, I am really considering going to the FBI or DEA with this, however, I know that once I begin the process, it will take so long that the scammers will shut that number down and be on to scam others, while the ink is still drying on the paper.   This "Agent" was so believable today, I was shaking and crying, and feared that I would indeed be going to jail...especially if I didn't wire the $2,000.  I am an intellegent woman and should have known better, however, these people obviously study the psychology of people (especially law abiding innocent people), so they know which buttons to push.  During this whole hour long ordeal the tip off for me was the following 1.  I was told to NOT tell anyone else about this.  2.  I was told NOT to contact authorities, because they were doing a very private investigation and I would ruin it, and be arrested promptly if I called ANYONE.  3.  I was told I HAD to wire the $2,000 immediately.  Then the "Agent" began getting impatient and started yelling at me, so I began thinking, there is no way a Federal Agent would treat someone like that, NOR would he demand money immediately. I'm SO glad I didn't wire the money...I just hope other people don't!

I received one of these calls the end of January, 2 days out of surgery and they threatened me with the statement that agents are right around the corner ready to take me to the Dominican Republic, no passport needed to stand trail for ordering drugs online back in 2006. Since I did nothing of the sort, I did not let the call get as far as some of you so they did not ask for money. I told them to go ahead and send their agents and hung up. Of course, no one showed up. I received another of these calls 3 weeks ago but the voice mail was so garbled, I could not get the number or name. Today I received another one, via voice mail, from FDA Agent James Carter with a phone number and extension. I, instead, called the FDA directly and, of course, they did not show an agent with that name and had no knowledge of the phone number except to say it was not theirs. I have now contacted my local authorities, my attorney and am in the process of having their number blocked from my phone. I hope someone can get to the bottom of this and prosecute whoever is making these calls. I am a 62 year old woman and the number they are calling is my cell which belongs to the company I am working for.

Just happened to me.  Special Agent Brian Tucker called me told me he had agents in the area who were coming to take me into custody...but since I had a clean record, he would drop the charges if I wired them $2,000 within 10-15 minutes..  Had I not gone to my bank, WHILE I had the guy on the phone, I may have wired the $2,000 to him!  TOTALLY believable. It sounded as if he was dispatching information to Federal Agents, etc.   The Bank Manager told him she was reporting this to the Attorney General's office.  He hasn't called back.  It was VERY scary, and I just hope they catch these people AND no one gives them any money!!!!!!  Call came from 202-470-1050  "Agent" Brian Tucker's Ext 221.

Same thing just happened to us. A speacial agent Henry Stevens called telling us that there was a warrant for our arrest and could serve 3-5 years in prision. So we looked up the number and saw that it was possible fraud so we called the FBI and they told us to ignore it and they have had other reports on this number. They said they are goin to track the number and deal with these people. They also redirected us to the FCC to file a informal complaint.
