they tried to hit me with the same 8,000 US grant scam for paying stuff on time and junk and i was like ohh they have my address? interesting but i dont have a job and i dont pay taxes since i dont work.... sooo yeah, scam! but they hit me with a Houston, Texas number 713-733-7549. told me to call a 206-905-9357 number.. i have half a mind to call and f*&k with them now lol

I've had these people calling me twice a day for the past 2 weeks. I keep telling them to take my number off the list because I'm not but in their bs, but they won't leave me alone!! This is definitely a scam.
They're calling from more than the (202) area codes now. I've gotten calls from them from (708), (321), & (914).
You can call the Federal Trade Commision to report and they have a website to check for scams : consumer.ftc.gov
And check the tab labeled "scam alert"

I just got off the phone with them, they're using green dot cards now,  they told me to go and get a green dot card and put $200.oo dollars on it so  that I can activate my account to release the $8000 dollars. I put on an act, sounded like I was going to hit the roof, I screamed so loud and trying to stop laughing, I said " oh thank you jesus " and then I went off on those b*****ds, I told that lady that I was gonna blow her Fu@# head off, she said ooooooh nooooo and then I heard a click !!! lol

I have gotten this call repeatedly over the last few days since I got a new cell phone.  I gave them no information but how did they get my name and cell number?  I strung him along until he said he could send a check but it would take 17 working days to process.  I guess I have to get my cell company to block some numbers.  This is really annoying since I have family in the 202 area code.

FRAUD SCAM!!!!!!!! NOW THEY GOT A NEW NUMBER 206-855-3175!!!! they was saying i won 8,000 from the gov. ! They also said my bills were clean and had no crimal record. All i had to do was send them $$280.00 and they would wire me 8,000 through westurn union At first they said i only had 5 hrs to send them $280.00 then turned into like 3 days..!!!!! LIERSZZZ thank god i looked it up on the computer.!

This man has been calling me for three days with this bull. He wanted my bank account information. I said "Are you freaking kidding me?" He said I could go and buy a pre-paid Debit card and give him that information. He asked me how old I was and I asked that shouldn't he already know that. When I got curious he started reading off the address to the building he's in in Washington DC. This the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. I am so glad I didn't make the mistake of telling him anything. BEWARE!!!

Just got the same call.  They could not speak a lick on english.  I told them I wanted a certified check... the numver they wanted me to call back was 202 885 3175...
So dumb... 8k...  I am not  going to hold my breath :-).   They had all my information which is not good... social never came up.  I never gave them anything else either...

I got this call 4 times so far today. During the first call, I listened to the point where he started asking for personal data (my middle initial). I said that this doesn't sound right and hung up.

What surprised me was that he called right back and indigently asked why I had hung up on him??? I told him that it sounded like a scam and to please don't call me back anymore. He called back immediately and tried to spin me some line. I interrupted him and asked what part of NO he didn't understand and not to call back anymore.

He waited an hour before called back again. Not too bright if you ask me. He seems to get real upset if you don't go for his scam.

The world is clever, (sorry to say) you are stupid..!! Take care of yourself next time, there are alot of scams out there, run by clever people who are experts in betraying people..!! DON'T FALL FOR THESE a** holes..!

I got the same call. This weird 202 # keeps calling so when I answer they tell me I'm 1 out of 15,000,000 Americans that was chosen to get a free FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GRANT! in the amount of $8000 lol I think its against the law for them to use the words Federal or Government so I knew it was total BS sure would be nice though!! Aint Scamming this lil lady !!

I got the same call but from number5347689456 and then told me to call her call manger at 2064625509 with a code rf227 scam they wanted me to send 210.00 to the western union didn't do it why do I have to send money in order to get money don't do it u will loose money also they say u been selected for paying your bills on time

I got a called from a 2026666600 number and the lady said I was entitled to get 8400 from the gov..thousand thoughts crossed my mind...I had a prepaid card number which is what I provided then she gave me another name and number to call carren john or smething like that so I called. this lady said pretty much of the same thing the other lady said. first thing I asked after she said the money will be in my account within 30mins. she didn't say I had to wire any money or pay anything. but got real defensive when I asked was this a scam. not to mention that she just called me back asking was I trying to reach her lady bye this is most def a scam!!!...B Careful PPL

The number that called me was 20228083677 and ive sent them $200 already so today the bank calls & says I have to send a moneygram of 499 then they will send 8400 plus the 499 to my account direct deposit. Has anyobe gone through this far because I'm suppose to call him back when i get the 499 they also say that if I don't go through with the process someone else will be rewarded the amount. Also the 200 i sent was a processing fee that goes to charity. When i sent it it was sent to India smh we spent our last as well I just want to be 100% sure its a scam before we continue

It seems like the same story is being told over and over on this blog.  I as well just received a call from a Jimmy Whickman saying that I can receive a free no strings attached Government Grant of $8,000.00.  Sounds a little good to be true.  He also said that only 1,900 Americans quilify for this grant.  He guess what that lucky guy is me!!!  Well I really am learning in like that when things sounds way to good to be true most likely they are!  I didn't give any banking information of mine or even a card number.  I ended up telling him, "well, give me a web site address," which he provided me with this www.usagovgrant.com.  The funny thing is that when you go to this web site, really nothing about the freeeeeee grant of $8000 came up.  Then, I asked him for his mailing address, which he gave me this 200 Independence Ave Southwest Washington DC 20024.  After looking this address up on google.com it led me to a government department, but when I did a search inside the site for anything connecting the $8000, you guessed it!!!  NO LUCK!  So, all that being said come tomorrow when they call again I may just mess with them a little and say this phone number is an official government number and tell them not to contact it again for any more SCAMS!  BIG SCAM!

I got a Call for a grant of $8000 by a Brian Walter (if a scam probably a fake name) who says he's from the United States Government Federal Grants he gave me a confirmation code a security code and told me to call 202-621-0193 where i talked to a Tony Parker (again if scam its probably phony) who wants me to go to a rays or Fred Meyers to get a money gram from western union to pay a $210 wiring fee but he says i need a cell 2 forms of id' so i can call him back so he can walk me through it he tells me that his extension is 210. Any one think its a scam like the rest? I have trouble understanding other US accents so... i was researching before i go he also told me i have to call before 6:30 today.

I had got a call yesterday from a female name Allison Floyd from 2024701403 she said I had a grant for 8,400 all I have to do is send $205 well I did took here info down her number she say the money will be on my card in 40 to 45 min then I call back after and hour.she say Monday morning at 11:30am it will be on there I'm so piss I got scam that was my last. How do they get my number in our info?? How can u report it?? Can they find the people and get our money back?? I think. This world is crazy!!!

10-27-2012: I just received a call from a man with an "unkown" phone # with a foreign accent, claiming I have been selected for an $8,400 grant from thr gov't, for paying my bills ontime. He said that aout 1500 people across the nation have been selected for this. I replied, "the gov't does alot of work on saturday's now? thats interesting.." he said yes we work on saturdays. I just need your debit, bank account, or paycard #  to get your depoit. I told him to just send me a check In the mail, he said they don't do that anymore because it might go to wrong person, I said well you can imagine my skepticism, and he said he would mail me the info, and hung up on me. TOTAL SCAM!!!

I got the call. He said the money would be on the card in 30-45 minutes no money. Not that I was surprised... that's why I gave him a card number that was for a pre-paid VISA that has not money on it. Too bad for him.
