That exact same thing happened to me

So i get a call from a Foreign man telling me i got approved for an $8400 grant from the Department of Treasury. Asking me for my card number 3 digit code on the back and the expiration date as well to get the money transferred on to my card. The man that called me was name Travis Barker then he says i have 5 to 10 mins to call the number to speak to a lady name alley asking me for $240 dollars on a green dot money pack could not be a debit credit or checking account. So i say just take the $250 out of the $8400 dollars she says we cant do that we half to have those funds in the money would be on my card in 30 to 45 mins AND SHE WOULD STAY ON THE PHONE WITH ME UNTIL THE MONEY WAS ON MY CARD HER NAME WAS ALLEY. She insisted that it had to be a Green Dot Money pack card and could not be nothing else. I almost played into her scam thought it was a Blessing from above until we goggled it and found that it was a scam. So i call leave her a voice mail telling her she has one hour to return my call or i am turning her into the IRS and the news. Well its an hour later and no phone call. the numbers they call from are 202-470-3388 202-666-2294 the man calls from the 202-666-2294 then gives you the other number to talk to Alley and she will get the money and transfer the funds. They say that they are the US Treasury Dept and the money comes from a bank in New York. Well now the IRS and the News will be notified. also they say there in Washington DC

Yes I received a call to call this number to claim my 8400.00.

I did the same.but after I talked to her I got another call from a man named Larry Johnson who said he worked at the Federal Reserve Bank and was confirming my money transfer and wanted to know when I would be able to take care of the $240 processing application fee

ya same thing happen to me also said and did the same things you said and did .I did not fall for it no way,

I just got called...I gave them my banking info..is this real or fake?? I'm so confused...having real bad financial difficulties...lights turned off today,  car note due...I really need this to be real.. or else that's pretty horrible messing with hardworking ordinary people who work hard for their money..

They called me and I gave them some information and now I feel utterly stupid they are scum bags

They told Me the goverment is giving me 8000.00 dollars. I needed to send them 200.00 in order to get it I hung up.

Yepp..feel like an idiot...is there no way to track where they r calling from? I know that impersinating a federal employee of the government has got to b illegal? And who ever stated in the above remarks that its not a scam and they got the money..is a liar..or an imposter...more than likely a lowlife lazy scuzzy weasel that has never earned a honest hardworking dollar n their sleazy lil life....which they don't deserve...hope they choke on money......PEACE

So is this real or a hoax. . Last week thay called znd said it was  $10.200 and wedsday it was $6.000 znd ten minutes ago it's now $8.400 so what's up

also received call and told to call joyce Westcon about this grant for 8400, I knew it was too good to be true and even asked why wouldn't they just sent a check but I'm embarrassed to say I gave them my info. did not make the payment and put a hold on my bank account 10 minutes later. Please Don't give them your account number! I hope these people go to hell.

Contact your bank. Tell them what's going on. They can change your account number to keep the scammers out of it.

She even Have all my Bank info if she withdrow from my saving account wat should i do next JoyceWeston has my account # and my router # oh s##t

They are scam  they Have your hopes high ti still your Money that is so wrong can the gov.do something about it.

Received call from "us fed gov grants program" . Name and phone number selected to receive one time grant award of $8400 to be deposited into a bank account. They Did not like being questioned. SCAMMER..... Wanted me to go to A store and by a green dot money pack for 230 Dollars to cover bank processing fees. Call from parking lot, so as to purchase the correct card or it will be a waste of time and my money. Names mentioned were Michael, could not speak or understand clear English, and said his account manager's name was Joyce Weston.  He told me to call her right away and she would handle the transfer. He said if the line was busy, I should keep trying because there were 15000 people that had been selected for this grant money. She answered immediately, and told me about the fees associated with covering the transaction of $230 and that the Green dot money pack would cost me $4.05.    She said money would come from Federal Reserve Bank of New York.  Very annoying, call constantly, at all hours.  Also stated that the fees paid would go to the non profit charity of the American Red Cross.

When you're experiencing a x call like this something in the back of your mind tells you that this is too good to ever be true because it's simply being b handed to you but then something in you wants you to believe that it's true and that that money will be in your hands very soon..... but thanks to Google.com you can simply enter a phone number and connect with several different individuals across the country who are experiencing the same dilemma.  While I did give them my account info I shall not be giving Joyce Weston a call back, that gives you the creeps to know that sick moderate people would be audacious enough to call your phone and con you into believing their proposition. I feel bad for single mothers and my fellow Americans who were sitting there once they received that call thinking to themselves 'why I  cou really use this extra cash, not for any devious endeavor but instead to help out there family.Please America be wise. Your break will actually one day come...little by little.

Hey this is actually real I paid them with my discover card and one hour later I had 9000 on my prepaid debtcard

This is the sixed time I've resived this call my cell always saying its from Columbia hahaha. its getting annoying but even after I reported it nothing has changed other then my phone number but they keep getting it just do what I do go along with it n pretend your interested n then when they hang up don't bother with the call back number that usualy workes but the fastest way is to just say hold on the line while I call 911 and verify your number
