who is calling me.

Rec'd call from this # a few times.  They hang up and leave no message.

Guess this number is still active two calls within 30 minutes and no one there.

These guys have been calling me nonstop since last week. When I called back, nobody answers!! Grrrr

wow an ad on this page that is USEFUL  if we are getting spam from this number we are getting spam from GOOGLE without a doubt

I wonder if this guy can take on these magazine peddlers too

I get more spam calls than I do real calls to my cel  and been on the do not call list for years
spent a year saying..TAKE MY NUMBER OFF YOUR LIST..and reporting then endlessly.

A time or two I reported them to ..the FTC as someone suggested.  It took a few minutes to do
and they did send me a letter in the mail..but I never got spammed by that solicitor again.

so...proactive does work ..sometimes.

Received a unwanted call from 202-481-9008 and my Caller ID shows the telephone number is comiong from Washington, D.C. ..... I tried to report this to ATT but all they could tell me was way "I" could deal with it myself ..... They wanted me to call the number back and tell them to stop calling me ..... How and the HELL CAN YOU TELL A MACHINE TO STOP CALLING YOU .....

I've been getting a call from this number every day for the last month.  How do I turn this in to the telephone police?

They have called 3 times today, no one there when I answer. Caller ID says District of Columbia

REALLY tired of getting calls from 202-481-9008.  Nobody on the line.  Suppose it is a telemarketer.

Have been receiving almost daily calls from this no for past 3 weeks.  They never speak - call ends after about 30secs.

the numbr has called a couple of times today.. no one on phone.. so i suspect that this is testing
to see either when someone answers.. or if this is a 'live' line... next time i will just hang up.. don't want to waste my cell minutes on junk calls.

Called again.   I called them back but no answer.

I get about one call each week from this number, but I never get to talk to anyone and
I cannot get an answer when I call them.

This is a number that should be reported to the FTC and state AGs.  It seems that no one wants
to stop this call from occuring to people on the no call list.  Where is the US government while this continues?  What is the use of a no call list when it is not enforced?

Gotta love caller id. Put this one in the do not answer file. Waste of your minutes on cell service.

Answered call and heard rustling on the other end of the line for a few seconds and then they hung up.

Have received several calls from 202-481-9008 ( caller ID says District of Columbia)..they always hang up, and if you call it back- you just get the musical ding ding ding- I'm sorry- the number you've reached is no longer in service mumbo jumbo.    After reading the other posts here- I find it INTERESTING that several people are nurses, as I am also ( hmmm...)

Anyway, non of us are sure WHO it is- but I have found a way to make them stop.  I have AT&T, this feature may not be available in all areas, or with all carriers- but I have listed the procedure for AT&T and Verizon.

Selective Call Rejection- To Block a Number From Calling You-

1) Press *60 on your phone and listen carefully to the announcement. It will tell you whether your service is on or off. ( unless you have already activated it- it will be OFF.)

2)  once it is ON-  then press "2" to add numbers to you list. ( see details below)
    press "3" to delete numbers from you list
    press "4"  to delete all numbers from your list
    press "5" to hear the numbers that are on your blocked list
    press "6" to end the call ( or simply hang up)
    press "0" to repeat the menu at any time

details from above ... Press "2" to add a new number to your list. The voice instructions will tell you to enter the area code and number, and then press # (pound) when you are done.

Call Block with VERIZON- ( taken from their web site)

You can use Call Block to automatically block incoming calls using a screening list that you create. Call Block will reject calls from phone numbers that match those on your Call Block list. Your Call Block list is limited to either 6 or 12 numbers, depending on your region.

When a blocked caller reaches your telephone number, they will hear a recording saying you are not presently accepting calls. You can temporarily deactivate Call Block or change your Call Block list at any time.

Calls made to you from outside your local calling area, through operator assistance, or from cell phones and some business phones cannot be blocked.

All calling features are subject to availability and compatibility restrictions.


GOOD LUCK-hope it works for you- I have a list of about 5 people blocked, including the number that calls for donations to the Policeman's Ball- and a pesky charity that calls about 3 times/month asking for clothes or household donations even though I have told them that I will call them if I have anything...

We have also received 3 calls around the same time with 2-3 days in bewteen and no one is there and I also do not hear no disconnect!!!! I trieed calling the number and all it does is ring about 20 times. It is irritating when our business is mainly the phone and we have telemarketers wasting our time answering the phone, when we are here for our customers and to help them, NOT to waste our time in answering when no one is there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I am guessing it is a telemarketer and by reading the complaints below with the same things going on CONFIRMS that!!!!!!

A foreign lady called yesterday, August 18, 2011 saying my husband told her to call because I had diabetes and she could help me with diabetes supplies. I told I didn't need anything and hung up. She called back about twelve times and hung up as soon as I answered. She has or the same number has been calling today about every fifteen minutes, but no one is there when we answer. It's so frustrating and annoying.

If you aren't on the registy, then get on it. Also if you find out  who the callers are, file a complaint with their local BBB and the state attorney's general office (most have a spot on their website to report calls if you are on the DNC registry).

If you are on the do not call registry list, make sure you take the time EVERYTIME to file a complaint. Just go to the website.

It only takes a few seconds to do.

This number has called me almost every day,  the ask for the owner of the company by name.  I do my I am sorry he is not here bit and they hang up on me.  
Today I called the number back and it just rang and rang.
