telemarketer... I didn't answer, but then called back. A recording came up, not saying who they were, or what they were trying to offer me, but if I wanted to be removed from their list, press 1... so I did. Hopefully that didn't put me on another list.
A recorded message promising 2 free cruise tickets for answering 10 questions. It did not offer any means of opting out or being removed from their list.
Yup, someone offering 2 free tickets if you answer 10 survey questions. It starts off with an annoying cruise ship horn.
Automated offer for 2 free cruise tickets for answering 10 survey questions.
Showed up on my work phone as a missed call. Thankfully I'd already left for the day.
Rang a few times, then quit. No voice mail so I called back. Recording just said if you'd like to be removed from our calling list press 1. So I did. This was not the first call that I received like this. Different numbers, but same voice recording. Press 1 each time... I'm thinking it is the same company.
Two cruise ship tickets after answering ten survey questions. Then I answered them and told me I won Two tickets I held on and it hung up on me.
i have received calls from this # many times saying this is "this is your captain" speaking. caller: unknown Just assumed kids were playing around first. Being that it is D.C. area Who knows? Maybe our President wants to call us????????
Keep getting a call from this # and goes to our answering. I want them to just stop calling
Agree with all the above. Captain speaking etc... I took the survey, now let's see what happens. I'll repost in a couple days and let you know if i got screwed.
to remove your # from there list, simply call the # back. I tried to ask more questions and got the message, "If you want your name removed..."
I'm not holding my breath
I have been getting annoying phone calls from Caribbean Cruise Lines for a very long time. Fog horns; "This is your Captain speaking!"; etc. It is impossible to speak to a human, and they are not easily identifiable or reachable as a business.
Their listed information:
Caribbean Cruise Line
3666 West Oakland Park Blvd
Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33311
However, that number does not work.
Another company which shares that address is Four Amigos Travel, 954-485-0608. A friendly person answered that number and said that it is a contact for Caribbean Cruise Line. Unfortunately, she could not help to remove my contact info from their database. She directed me to their corporate office, somewhere near Federal Highway and Commercial Blvd, 954-567-9353. Ext. 1 is customer service, and supposedly they removed my info from their list.
Public records show (http://sunbiz.org/pdf/U0907077.pdf):
Four Amigos registered agent:
Jon A Hinden, Esq
4430 SW 64th Avenue
Davie, FL 33314
Ronald M Schlom
President of Caribbean Cruise Line (http://www.sunbiz.org/pdf/00136116.pdf):
201 E Pine St, Suite 500
Orlando, FL 32801
No message. Their ship can sink for all I care if that's what it's about as everyone above is saying. Don't call me, I'll call you IF I'm ever enterested. If you have to call me, I'd never do business with you because of it.
same as everyone else or they just hang up on me when i answer.
Didn't answer it but caller id said Wash DC call
evil phone thing deserves to suffer
I wasn't home but redialed because I have family in the 202 area code. I received a message that I could press 1 to be removed from their list. I am already on the national do no call list so what's up with this?
Got a call from this number, didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. Looked up the number and got this website.
I didn't answer. Can't stand telemarketers. We need to send them on their own cruise ship to the bahamas and sink it like the Titanic in between ports!!!
this is the third call; I do not want to be called again
Automated system, called my work number today 9/10, stating free cruise...left message on my voice mail asking me to press 1 to participate in the survey and get 2 tix to bahamas. irritating.
Got a call from this number on my work cell phone today, 9/10/09. My number is not published as I am a police officer and my cell phone is on a corporate law enforcement account. I hung up on the recording, which claimed to be a "public opinion poll," then I immediately called the number back. When calling the number back, there is a recording that answers immediately stating that by pressing "1" your number will be removed from their marketing list. They warn that it may take up to 72 hours to process your removal.
Remember, when you want to be removed from a marketing list, do not ask to be "removed" from anything. By most marketing company policies, you must request to be ADDED to their DO NOT CALL or DO NOT SOLICIT list. "Remove me" isn't good enough. Whenever possible, talk to a person, preferably a supervisor to confirm that you have been added to their "Do Not Call" list, commonly referred to among themselves as a DNC list.
NEVER answer numeric prompts in an unsolicited recorded call. You may inadvertently be giving computer access to your phone or accounts.

HAD A BLAST WITH THIS ONE !!
Recieved this called twice today 9-10-09 first on my cellfone then hour and half later they called my home phone. Of course I didn't answer it because I don't know who it was and I don't know nobody in Washington DC, no friends or whatsoever. I was just hoping they leave a voicemail but they didn't, so I thought to research it on the internet who's number is it from and then it took me to this website, well thanks to this website...
Do not call me again
I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message
Received this call at work 4:00PM EST - no message - this site is pretty cool
I don't know anyone in Washington DC, so when I first saw the 202 Washington DC area code I thought, maybe that's the President calling. But I didn't pick up because I was napping. Then I came online to check out what the number was! Just great, I missed a chance to win a cruise to the Bahamas. >:(
The "captain" called about a free trip if I answered 10 questions. They called on my work phone. Annoyed.
