Received a call from this number 1-202-499-1634.  Said he was from Microsoft, and needed to excess my computer to fix a problem that was reported to him.  I have received this call numerous times over the past 3 months, really getting tired of it.  Be aware people, Microsoft does not call you directly unless you call them first. Believe me this is a scam.

Have received several calls from this number. The man who speaks with you appears to be from India and is barely intelligible.  They ask what kind of printer you have so they can scam you and bill you for ink cartridges you don't even order.  Hang up on them!!!  Don't give them your information or they will start sending the ink cartridges and the bills.

I am sure that this was a scam of some sort.  The man on the phone had an accent that was so thick, we could not understand anything he said.  We asked to speak to someone else who spoke better English, but he continued with his rehearsed lines or whatever he was talking about.  Needless to say, after speaking to my coworker and me, I hung up on him.  

Got a call from this number today on my cell phone except the scam changed from IRS to the one with a heavy accented middle Eastern guy trying to tell me that there was a problem with my computer and he need to get access to fix it.   Same as the last call except the last call came from 212-077-1180.  Just saw that they called my home phone as well today.  They claim that there is a problem with your computer and it is in danger of crashing unless you take preventative steps to fix it.  They claim to be working for the windows tech support team but won't admit to working for Microsoft.  They say they are a third party tech support.   They help you navigate on your computer to a certain file that is filled with warnings and errors ( which are normal but people don't realize that) then say that your computer is going to crash and for a mere $99, they will log in and fix it for you.  DON'T DO IT!!!!!  ITS A SCAM, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! IF YOU LET THEM INTO YOUR COMPUTER AND SEND THEM MONEY...... YOU DESERVE WHATEVER HAPPENS TO YOU.  They are very adamant, pushy, and insist that you dont ignore the warnings.  They don't take NO for an answer.  If you ask them totake your number off their list, they will tell you NO, hang up on you and or continue to call  repeatedly out of spite.  Their numbers are fake as well.  It doesn't do any good to threaten them or yell at them or try to report them.  Currently they are unstoppable. My only suggestion is to get creative and find ways to keep them on the phone so as to waste their time and they end up coming away with nothing.  Only catch is if they ask you to do certain things on your computer they will ask you verification  questions to see if you are actually doing it or just yanking their chain.  Things like " do you see the word manage in the drop down menu?  What is the word directly above it?  Read it to me."  If you aren't following them, you won't know the answer and they will know you are messing with them.  So have fun but dont give them access to your computer and don't pay them any money,  your computer wont crash because of the errors.  If in doubt or you are actually having computer priblems, take it to a local trusted comouter repair shop.  You have been informed and forewarned!!!!!!!

This same number is calling from "technical support" because of a problem with my computer.  They can't tell me which computer, or how they got notified, it's the same old scam.

a gentleman named (john hudson) called me last week and several times this week stating that the irs owes me 2173.00 . i was suppose to go and buy money gram and within  1 hour and then the funds would be in my bank in 2 hrs. he stated to me the last 4 digits of my bank acct. and even stated the name of my bank. i immediately called my bank to inform them of whats going on. they were glad i called.
even though i didnt do any transactions, im still afraid of my account. tomoorow i have to remove all my funds and reopen another account. thats very sad. unfortunatly; this is the 2nd time for me. im really getting disgusted with all this. how many other persons have to worry other than me.

I to recieved a call from the non speaking english man, i old him he was a scam artists and not to call me again, but on the other hand my ballsy wife, called them back and told them she reported them to the irs, the fbi, and their local police dept.  And believe me she did, i encourage everyone to do the same.

I just called the number and laughed at the guy that did not speak english to well and he told me "hay Mother Fu^&er don't waist my time this morning".  Too funny to think what they are trying to get away with.

I had this happen once but it was about a car loan and they claim i was being sued for falling behind and when i told them that i was current and had just talked to my bank the person got real snotty and hung up on me to which i called back and told them i was reporting them to the attorney general and the better business bureau to which they begged me not to and i was never bothered again until this number called today.

this caller left the same message as it did for other ,call and give your bank info so they can put 2173 in my account .the number shoes 1-202-499-1634

Yep -- $2173 just sitting there, waiting for me to claim it!  FREE MONEY!  Wow -- it's just SOOOO believable :(  I hate that fraudsters are out there -- no one deserves to be stolen from -- it's awful.  And how did they even get my cell number?  I never give it to anyone.

I JUST RECEIVED A CALL STATING THIS IS THE IRS AND I HAVE A REFUND OF 2173.00 AND TO CALL BACK WITH VERIFICIATION. SO I TRIED CALLING BACK AND THE NUMBER WAS A BUSY SIGNAL

I recieved a message from the IRS, Internal Revenue Service saying that I was entitled to a refund of $2110.00 and to call the number provided to verify my information. Usually when I get an unknown caller I wait until after 9pm or call at 6am- these are non business hours and will allow for the automated system to acknowledge the business name. When I called this number it immediately rang busy, 4x's in a row. Which is when I came to this website. Thanks to you I'm confident it's a scam.. thx for your help. I'll be contacting the (REAL) IRS immediately.

I got a call from the irs they told me i would receive money but i would have to pay them to get....i started to ask questions he got mad and his accent changes really quick and called me a bunch of bad names because i told him he was a scam and that i hope he would soon be caught and spend life in jail for running scams

I recieved a call saying the irs owes me money and wanted my bank info I refused to give it out this is a scam trying to get your bank info its really funny because i owe the irs money now so i knew it was a scam

Received a call someone stating that they are from the IRS,I KNOW IT'S A SCAM,stating i've been audited and due a refund,go to the nearest CVS etc and send them $298.00.The person had a thick accent ,once i
started questioning him he immediately hung up.I advised no one to listen to this crap.IT'S A SCAM PEOPLE
and something needs to be done about them

I just got a call from this number claiming that I overpaid the IRS $2100 and in order to get it back, I needed to go to CVS, Rite Aid or Walmart and purchase a Greendot Money Pak for $202 . Then the money would be deposited into my account. He said he would be there for 45 minutes and for me to go and do it now.
I told him I did not have the money and then he said well, call him back when I do.

On my voice message they actually identify themselves as "This is the IRS, the Internal Revenue Service, and you are due a refund of $2173, after verification of your information you will be eligible for this amount..." Yeah, right. People, the IRS doesn't initiate communication by phone, they mail you notices, they are all about paperwork and paper trails, not phone calls.

got a call from them left a message saying they were the irs and i was due a 2970 dollar refund

My social security number was taken in February of this year.  I am still fighting with the IRS to get my refund.  I am told it will take at least 211 days for them to research. It's a long story.  However, last night I received a telephone call from 202-499-1634 and they identified themselves as the IRS.  I got a name and badge number.  They said they were calling to verify my name and address so they could send my tax refund.  When I started asking him for specific information he hung up on me.  I called the IRS this morning and report this.  They told me to call the Inspector General to lodge a complaint.  If this happens to you please call the Inspector General at 1800-366-4484.
Do whatever you can to protect your personal IDs.  You cannot imagine what a disaster it is when someone else gets it.  I am speaking from experience.

I too just received this call. I am an IRS employee in California. I knew it the moment he answered it was a scam.  Who do I need to report this to in Califrnia. I will be notifying my work asap!!!

Yes I receive the same phone call on today. I was asked if I still bank with Suntrust and I told them no. He asked me what was my new bank account info. I ask if I could call back because I wanted to check with my lawyer. I hung up and will not be calling these people back to give them any information.......

I received the same message for the same amount = $2,173.00 from the I... R... S... it's clearly a 'modified' voice made to sound 'robotic' as if we'll trust a 'bot' over a human. I knew it was a scam but went ahead and tried the number anyway, just to see what happened. It took it a minute to even 'register' the call and when it finally connected it was a very quick 'busy' tone.

I received a call from these dead beats. Stated I would get $2173 if I paid my $199 penalty. I asked why he couldn't take the penalty out of the funds. He became very upset and started yelling about how I could just forfeit my refund. I told him I would contact my attorney and see what he wants me to do and call back. He was very quick to get off the phone. LOL

I am reporting them to the attorney general.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY OR INFO!!!!!
