Got a call from this number on Sat evening. I did mistake of calling back, person said it is IRS and they needed my attorney's number. I said I will call back.

I got a call saying I owed $6,784.00 to the IRS.

I received a call yesterday morning from this number.  I told the lady (Sarah somebody) no thanks the first time and hung up.
She immediately called back again and sounded threatening.  She has an asian accent and because the call was on my cell, I told her I could hardly understand her.  I proceeded to tell her I knew the call was a scam and I very tersely suggested she was not fooling me and she needed to go back to her country and threaten her countrymen because I wasn't buying into her nonsense.  I then hung up on her and she never called back again.  We will see what today brings.

we got the same exact message again, they called couple of weeks ago, threatning that the police was on its way if we didn't provide a specified amount of money in cash to be delivered at a specified location.  Don't fall for it it's definitely a scam.

UPDATE I called back asked for a badge number I got 100154183

The caller stated he was calling fro the IRS ,and he repeated that three times.looking for my wife I then told him the call was being recorded  he hung up immediately

Called by this # 202-506-8435.A Foreign voice asked to speak to me. Could not pronounce my name.I asked what did the call concern. They replied that they were the IRS, and I just laughed and said "yeah right" then hung up. If they can't pronounce a typical american name then I'm usually not talking to them.

this is one big scam. they claim to be the Investigation Dept of the IRS, however when you call them, they claim the IRS does not call individuals, which is correct. They will try to get any personal information they can from you.

Received called from someone who could barely speak English saying I owed back taxes and the sheriff was coming to arrest me.

Received a message on my landline from a man (Richard Kim) with a thick Indian accent stating that it is imperative that I return his call. He stated he was from  Tax Litigation Dept.  and reference #230496.  He stated that I owed money and I should not ignore his call. When I returned the call the day of message I could not reach anyone. Called the next morning and spoke with another man with an Indian accent. He told me that they had sent several letters and had called time and again and that I owed money to IRS and that since I had let my taxes go unpaid for so long and had ignored their attempts at contact that my debt went from $4000 now up to $14,000. If not paid, I would be arrested in fact today when I returned home.  I tried to explain that I use a tax accountant and that I have not owed money to IRS.  I attempted to give them the name of my accountant and they refused saying that it was too late and that I should not use an accountant to do my taxes because I would not know how much money I owed.  I basically told them they were full of "B***s***". and that is when the man told me that I was going to be arrested today when I came home or that I would be pulled over and an arrest was put out in my name.  After contacting my accountant, we determined from this website and many others that this is a scam.

I received two voice mails from this number. The caller had a heavy Indian accent and was difficult to understand. He claimed his name was Jack Harvey.  He said that my husband needed to call him "This very second" due to a deficiency in our income tax.  He said he was from Tax Litigation Department. He gave me a reference number also.  

I got a call today and 2 weeks ago both time for my husband, from the same guy.  He said he is from IRS regarding the miscalculation of income tax and give me the case # that my husband need to call them back immediately.  Luckily I found this page.  Thank you, guys.

Got a call from this number claiming there's something wrong with my father's income taxes, and he needs to call back or legal action will be taken, etc, etc. The caller was a man with an extremely thick Indian accent, who sounded monotone like a robot; most likely due to repetitive recition of the whole spiel in attempt to defraud people.

Got a VM message from this number say my husband needed to call the minute he got this message from Kevin Johns at Tax liquidation depart.  I tried to call them back this morning and when they said it was the IRS I questioned him " is this really the IRS" and he hung up.  Called back with the reference number he said I did not have the authority to speak for my husband even though we only file jointly that it did not concern me.  Knew it was a scan as the IRS would never do that and we receive no mailing.  Very thick indian accent as well.  Such crap...

Ya we just got the same call , hindo ascent , we called back but thay keep hanging up on us now.. wtfudge..

Also consider a call-blocker

The calls originate in India.   They can't be stopped.   The best thing for you wold be a call blocker.

I have just received 2 phone calls today (06-07-14) at 11:01 I hangup and 11:02 I pick-up.  A man name: Max Marten with a IRS employee# 1810848112 advice that there is an IRS lawsuit filed against me and I should call (202) 506-8435 for my Investigator Agent name: Michael Carter with case # 221646.

Got the same thing....can't speak english,  also got one a week or so ago from another number that is listed under the scams.

Received EXACT same call probably by the same person with the heavy Indian accent...also sounded threatening & intimidating...REALLY??? Luckily I goggled the number right away!...HOW can we report these people??? SO SO ANNOYING!!!!

Yup, just as other have posted.  Something about some money I own the IRS and need to settle.  Total scam from somewhere in India or at least perpetrated by Indian people ( given the very thick obvious giveaway accent).     It seems really low grade armatures, given how bad their English is and lack of script. When confronted he just hung up.  At least the Nigerian emails were more entertaining.    

Same story here. I called the guy on given number I started talking to him in Indian language and he said this website is belong to them. Every time people spend time on this website they make money. Actually you guys are complaining about this website and they are making money for not doing anything.

I got one of these messages yesterday (6/3/14) with same type of situation--heavy accent, hard to understand. Told me to call 202-506-8435 immediately (or have my legal representative call).  That they have access to my tax records, etc.  I googled the TN and found this info--thank you all SO MUCH for this forum.  I was worried and now know that it's a terrible scam.

We received the same message. This time he said he was Brian Jones ( hard to tell bc of his accent - which suspiciously was not unintelligible on words like "taxes", "credit", "jeopardy",) same scenario / script.

Our family got calls from this number 202-506-8435, as well as 202-241-7505 and 202-239-0567.  All claimed that we have problem with our tax.  It is true that scam is going around and I am concerned if they were all related because the person with heavy accent sounded was the same person twice, but the other call wasn't the same person.  Please don't give out any of your personal information because they tried to scare you and wanted you to confirm with your information in order to get your personal information.   Does anybody know how and where to report to stop this kind of annoying call?

Same general call as others here. Said he was "Ryan Black". Could hear lots of other calls in background. Said my wife was being served with a lawsuit and needed to call back immediately. Wouldn't share details with me. Asked him what law firm he was with, then he says he's with the IRS Tax Audit Department. Challenged him that IRS notifies via postal mail, not phone. He kept reading same script lines.

I got a call from this number today and a guy with a heavy Indian accent said he was from the IRS. He said I or my "retained attorney of record" needed to call Steve Rogers back as soon as possible to avoid legal action. This dude could hardly speak English. I called the number back and a female with a heavy Indian accent answered the phone stating this was the IRS. I told her I thought if this was the IRS I was talking to, that they would have people that spoke better English. She hung up on me! LOL

This number  is claiming  to be from the IRS!!!!!  Trying  to scam people .

I received a voice mail stating to call 202-506-8435 because I have a tax litigation. The message was hardly understandable. Sounded like a heavy Indian male accent. It stated to call Sean Harvey and to have my attorney off record? when I call and that I have a deficiency in my IRS.

I also recieved the call from same number but I knew that IRS never Calls and if there is any issue they will first send a postal mail describing the issue and giving you time to respond. The person called me and said I am Richard Brown from IRS and I have arrest warrant for you for nat  paying 2012 dues. I said oh OK... which police station is arrest warrant from. He goes nono its from IRS and he hung up. I think he knew that I am aware of the IRS scam. So it is totally SCAM so dont worry and enjoy...the call
