I got a call today saying he's from the FBI investigations and that I better call back or they'll come pick me up. That's the only part of the message that was understandable.

Scare the s.   out of me . Very heavy India accent. He want 2074.00 into some account but want me do not tell any body else.if I don't IRS and home land sec will arrest me

where is the darn FBI, CIA, NSA to lift these criminals out of their life?

1. Get a warrant and shut the phone number down.
2. get Interpol involved and go to India (or other countries) ?and beat them with a baseball bat.

Got the same message today for my husband. Call them back and it just a message saying that they are IRS investigation from Washington DC

I received a call from someone saying he was from Federal Investigation division and a criminal act was being investigated at my address.  He sounded like he was from India and had a heavy accent.  Told me to call back at this number listed above.

This is a scam call from a guy with an Indian accent. He said he's from IRS Investigation. I told him I think this is a scam, then he begun to read out my name and address. I told him anybody can get those, and to send me his inquiry in a letter, then hung up. I called back that number 202 506 8934. He picked it up, I told him I've just talked to him and think he is a scam. He said, "I am going to scam your wife and daughter", and hung up. So this is definitely a scam!

I just received the same phone call from Jack William from Criminal Investigation Department of IRS wanting to talk to my husband.  When I asked for more information such as address of his office, he gave me 1111 Constitution Avenue and even gave me his badge #.  I told him that we will have our lawyer contacting him and he hand up.

What a phony!  I think these people target senior citizens (60+) whose last names might indicate they are ethnic minority who might not speak and understand English well to question their identity and the nature of the "alleged crime".  We should alert authority and media to prevent other people from being their victims.

I was left a message by Jim Cal with an Indian accent stating that he was from the criminal investigation division... I call back and he claim to be an IRS and that did I file a 1040 tax return and as I questioned him, he said he will call me back and never did.  yes, it is a scam.... beware..

Received voice messages from 202-506-8934 saying they are from Federal investigation and there is an arrest warrant for criminal.  This is a scam, be careful.

The guy left msg and identified him as George Thompson with a heavy Indian accent.

I got the same phone call today threatening that I own IRS and must pay with 72 hours or face arrest. Be careful !!!!

Called us today.  As another commenter mentioned, the message was hard to understand.   Said we are under federal investigation and someone is on the way to pick up [garble] unless we call right away.   There was an article in the paper last week about an increase in this type of scam.  Law enforcement would never call you to tell you they were coming to pick you up, or ask for money.  Strangely, the call did not show up on caller id at all.   I got the number from the voice mail that was left.  I think we were targeted because our last name is not a typical British sounding last name.

Got the same call, left a broken a** voicemail which is hard to hear. All you could really make out was "IRS" "Federal Investigation" "Call back 202-506-8934". These guys are idiots. When they call you, reverse it, say you work for the IRS and you would never make this call. Say now that you have their info by them calling you, they will become under investigation.

My wife got a similar call  today from (202)506-8934. The caller's name was Jack Williams. He also had a heavy Indian accent. I got similar calls before from a different phone number about some viruses attacking my computer right now. When I start to question a caller, he said that I was a f**ot and my wife was a w***e, and hanged up on me.

I've got this call several times. it is reaching the point that it is not even funny anymore! I've called that number and it seems it is a legitimate number because it claims it is IRS investigation division and I do not think they are that stupid. So, This is how it works. They make a phone call, if you pick up, they will try to scare you and get some money from you. If it goes to voicemail, they will leave a message with the legitimate return number in order to build up your anxiety for the next time they call and you pick up. They mostly target senior citizens or the phone numbers that are somehow associated with a senior citizen. For example, if you have used your contact info for your Grandpa. I don't know how they have got these numbers but I know for sure that they are mostly senior citizen related.

Sad as it is, the funny side of all these is that these people are really very low-level crooks and charlatans who don't play the game very well. Heavy Indian accents introducing themselves as Robert Johnson or Michael Peterson and when you question them about the nature of the crime in more detail, they start stuttering and hang up on you. I am surprised no law-enforcement agency has done anything about them yet.

I got a call from this number. The message was hard to understand. I heard something like he was looking for me and with federal investigation.

Just got a call from this number stating there is a warrant out for your arrest and police will arrest you if I don't response to the call soon.

You wouldn't get a call if there really was a warrant out for your arrest - the cops/FBI would just show up.  Your caller is just a lowlife scammer.

Called and said that there was a warrant for a federal investigation against me and my identity.  I googled this # & found out it was a scam .
