Fraudulent
multiple calls today from 202 506 9026 (9/1/14)

f-wads starting robo-calling at 6:20am today - claiming to be IRS. Okay, first of all - it's Labor Day (Federal Holiday), but my wife was concerned, so I called back - very thick foreign accented man picked up on the second ring (IRS NEVER does this), he couldn't pronounce my last name, and needed me to spell "Kelly". Asked if he was really IRS or some collector for them - said he absolutely worked for the IRS and they were going to file a lawsuit against me tomorrow. Told him I did not believe him and they haven't called back since.

just for fun, I called back again to see what would happen - 'Robert Frost' answered (haha), told him my name was Dick Hertz and that I wanted them to take my name and number of their list. "sure, no problem" he says... hahahahaha

I just recieved a voice message from 202-506-9026.?It said I owe IRS some back tax from2009 and 2010.  And as the other people have reported, the guy had a heavy indian accent and I had hard time understanding him. I called back and noticed his language was threatning and something an IRS person would not use.  So I googled 202-506-9026 while on the phone and found this site.  At the end of the phone conversation, he said "I will make your day miserable like hell."  This is so upsetting and it makes me so mad.  I hope police will catch and put these guys behide the bars.

I got a call this week from this number 202-506-9026, a guy says he is from the IRS name Steve Matthew and that I was to return his call right away or action will be taken against me by the IRS. I decide to Google the number and found this site, thanks guys for letting people know that this is a scam. I was worried for a while but remember my dad got a similar call and he was really worried. The authority should try to find these people and put THEM to jail!!

guy with strong indian/pakistani accent called my cell phone and left a very threatening message. his direct line was 202-506-9026, but showed up on my phone as 202-506-9010. I knew right away it was BS because i have a CPA that does my taxes multiple times a year for business reasons.. not only am i on top of my taxes but his name was "Agent Aquatoo" from the movie Zoolander I believe?  furthermore, the IRS will not leave VM like that, they will contact via letters or email so that their actions are documented.  when i called back from an office phone (didn't want him to have my number) this was the conversation:
him: Hi
Me: with whom am I speaking
him: Tony Parker
Me: who do you work for?
him: IRS
Me: I don't appreciate you  leaving threatening messages on my voicemail
him: Please give me your number and I will send you a copy of all the information I have to you.
Me: I'm not releasing my number to anyone for any such reason, this is fraud.
him: Okay, thank you and have a fu$^@&* great day!

I wish I looked up the phone number on google before wasting my time.. if you read this, don't bother wasting your precious time!

This is a scam.  I got a voicemail on Saturday morning.  The message was a little scary cuz my initial reaction was "am I in trouble with the IRS".  The caller had a very heavy foreign accent.  Couldn't understand every word.  Identified himself as Robert C., a police officer from the IRS.  He said something about my income tax calculation, and to return the call ASAP.  I searched the internet and found that IRS phone scams are on the rise for 2014.  Authorities, local newspapers, TV stations, magazines, and IRS are warning of "dirty dozen tax scams for 2014".  Don't be fooled.

Agreed. This is a fraud call from IRS. An Indian guy called me and said his name was Dave Matthews. What Indian guy is named Dave Matthews, and who's gonna believe that. Not sure how these guys are getting this information but they would have been better off saying they worked for IRS with an Indian name.

Once I heard this call, I checked the internet for the number. This will explain more of what's going on:

This is a SCAM.  The "IRS" left 2 voicemails, 202 and 646 area codes claiming back-taxes from 6 years ago.  They claim to be the Internal Revenue Service and use extremely threatening language and tell you that you have 2 hours to transfer funds to them using a prepaid credit card- green dot or it will be transferred to an arrest warrant that will find you and take you to jail pending the court appearance... you even have the risk of spending 7-10 years in jail. What a joke- they even told me to go to walmart to get my prepaid credit card!!! LOL!!!

They have STRONG Indian accents and go by "common" American names like Kevin Brown, James Anderson, or Jacob Parker with associated badge numbers and a DC address which is not the address of the IRS.  They were only able to supply my name and address- no other information even though they said they had a 32 page file on me.  I just kept asking them the same exact questions over and over until they started to trip up and I called them out on it.  DO NOT BE FOOLED with this OPERATION!!!!  Looking back i can only laugh but I was not laughing at the time. It was quite scary and overwhelming.
