They hung up when I answered

I finally answered and they asked for my husband. Wouldn't leave a message, but we've gotten calls from several such numbers all asking for my husband who is a Republican. Once they asked if I was the wife.  When I answered yes, they asked for donations for the RNC.  I told them I was a democrat so she said she'd call back to speak to my husband.  I told her don't bother because he is equally irritated by the constant calls, which he is.  I asked them to stop but we continue to receive the calls - when I pick up and say hello - no one's there.

This number appeared on my caller ID. Wasn't home to answer it, so I am not sure who it was.

THis Number Calls me 3-5 Time a Day for the last 2 months.

Leaves no message but calls repeatedly.

The last two weeks these people have been calling during the day or evenings no voices,nada, just hang up.Ran a make and it appears to be a so called presidental coalition, what!!,just more crape to deal with.

After dealing with these hang-up type calls for a few months, I am beginning to suspect that someone is spoofing the phone numbers of legitimate political organizations in order to discredit one or both. (When a call is spoofed, it appears to come from one source when it is actually originating from another. This is easy to do these days, but highly illegal.)

An early round of these calls pointed to the McCain campaign out of Minnesota. The latest round seems to be from a Washington, DC, number that I cannot yet nail down, but also possibly Republican-related.  (Someone mentioned Michael Reagan.)

The fact that the typical call ends with a hang-up had me wondering what's up on the other end. After realizing these seem to be politically-motivated I wondered whether or not the spoofing was being done so that people like us would look up these numbers, see it was associated with someone we didn't like, and we'd get PO'ed.

Call is from a polling firm with a question about the price of fuel at the pump.  They play a recorded message from Michael Reagan for you to listen to prior to asking you their polling question.  The Reagan message is approximately 30 sec. long and is his opinion on how/why the price of fuel at the pump is so high.  After Mr. Reagan's message, the representative was back on the line and she read me the poll question which I answered.  All told, about 90 seconds.  I get several of these political calls a week from various polling/opinion firms.  This one was obviously more identifiable with the Republicans than the Democrats, but I've certainly had my share of calls from both sides.  It's Election Season people, get used to this until early November.  Unfortunately the National Do Not Call list does not apply to political or charitable organizations.  :(

I FINALLY answered this call and the lady asked for my husband.  I said, "He isn't in right now," and offered to take a message.  She refused and insisted I tell her a better time to call, so I bluntly said, "The thing is, if we don't know who you are, then we won't talk to you."  She snapped right back to her cheerful self and told me... I don't remember, something to do with Michael Reagan.  I was going to pass it on to my husband (TM's generally won't stop calling until they have dealt with the person on the list), but this is about the 3rd or 4th site that has had nothing good to say about this number.

I haven't answered it yet. I jokingly told my wife that it must be President Obama checking to see if we could do lunch sometime. Based on what several of you have already stated, I will continue to ignore the phone. Thanks!

stop calling

I received a wonderful call from Mr. Reagan and the Presidential Coalition.  I listened and gave $25--this is a great group that does some fantastic work supporting our troops and sticking up for capitalism.  Thsi group does whant they say they are going to do!

I do not answer these calls, and they have been calling for months. They call everyday; sometimes once, sometimes 4 times a day.

Caller ID displays "Pres Coalition."  Caller ID log shows calls range between late morning to late afternoon for the following dates.  No message recorded.

I've been getting these calls for months now.  I called 800-942-1970 and asked to be taken off their calling list.  They asked for number, name, and address; and said I would be put on their 'do not call list'.

I called 800.942.1970 to be put on their "do not call" list. The lady was polite, but asked a lot of questions I thought were unnecessary (why do they need my address?).  I gave fake address because I figured they would send garbage through snail mail.

Get a call from them every morning at 8:30.  Just want them to stop!!!

This number appears on my phone daily and never leaves a message.  I want to report it as harassment

They call often . . . I don't answer but was going to call them back today. Came here to find out who they are and read the reports. Thanks for the heads up on removing the number . .  . I'll just give make up info for them!

Daily I receive at least two calls from this number - once in the morning and again in the evening.  How do I get off this callers list?

They call almost every day and hang up when the answering machine picks up.

My mother is repeatedly getting calls from this number.  Since she has caller-ID and doesn't know the number, she doesn't pick up, but her activities are interrupted almost daily.
