I'm unemployed and post my resume on some job sites. I got a text message from this number saying to register at jobnab.com to discuss a job offer.
Obviusly spam. If there were a job they wanted me for, they would call and talk to me about it, then ask me to register to follow the proper channels. (I have some experience with temp agencies and some do want you to register with the website so they can track employees/jobs/etc)
Got this message and could tell it was a scam. A professional organization would never contact a potential employee this informally and use this kind of laid back language.
Have no idea how they got my cell phone number since I do not have my resume on any job sites.
Got the same message just a little while ago. Obviously, it's a scam.
My only question is, why do these companies do this?
Got the same txt, Googled the company and this is what I found.
"JobNab.com is part of the Internet Company in Orlando FL. Job Nab is recruiting "job scouts" nationwide to supply Facebook Marketplace / Oodle and other boards with the usual Difrawi & Bell crap to get desperate job seeker's personal information. Also as usual hardly anybody will get paid for their work. Major traffic is generated via http://www.facebook.com/JobNab?v=app_1104956356512... and job board Oodle.
Jobnab.com on IP 18.104.22.168 was already rated. There are now 49 domains hosted on this IP address. I found 42 of the new ones myself, need assistance for the remaining. Strange, they were created in March, but only a few show up in robtex."
The text showed up as follows "Hi I'm Ann, based on your resume you match a job I'm filling. If you register at jobnab.com we can discuss the details if you're interested"
I knew this was bogus as my resume is set to private on certain sites and I do NOT list my cell phone number.
