These idiots called my dad's house claiming to be the IRS Investigation unit.  I asked him for his unit number and name.  Mike Jones he says with a heavy accent.  Unit number 001.  He kept asking for my name and I refused. I hung up.  He called back, I hung up.  He called 20 or so times.  I picked up and I asked why he kept calling.  He said "I f***ed your wife and I will f*** your daughter".  I was angry and told him to go to hell.  I hung up and he kept calling back.  I called the police and they came to take a report.

I hope these scum bags get caught.  Such low lives.  Idiots.  

It should not be so easy to spoof US phone numbers.

"Hello this call is from IRS that Internal Revenue Service. The very second you receive this message I need you or your reaching attorney off racket to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. This is Adam Scott and my number is 2025343926. Again it's 2025343926. Now don't try to disregard this message and do return the call. If you don't return the call. Our if I don't hear from your attorney either the only thing I can do is wish you good luck as the situation unfolds on you. Thank you and goodbye."

This 1-202-534-3926 is a scam, and not the IRS. The IRS will send a letter to your home, informing you about the matter, and not call. Also the region office of the IRS will call you if they need to talk to you, and not the Washington, DC office. This is identity theft, and do not respond to it. Report this number to the FTC, and ask to be placed on the do not call list.

Called saying they were from IRS about income tax. Started swearing at me when I accused him if trying to scam us.

THIS IS A TOTAL BOGUS CALL. AFTER PANICKING ABOUT RECEIVING ABOUT IRS MATTERS FROM A WASHINGTON DC AREA CODE, I CALLED THE B*****DS BACK AND TOLD THEM THAT THEY WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THEIR BASE IN NIGERIA. IT HAD SOME EFFECT ON THE GUY BUT I DON'T THINK THIS SCAM WILL DIE SOON.

Got two calls on my answering machine about a guy being from the IRS, stating that we should call back immediately, which is suspicious to begin with but then sounds threatening. If he were from the IRS I would think he would use our names but didn't even any name. I would think if it were the IRS he would have said our name.  Said the exact same thing word for word on both messages which made me suspicious too.

I picked up the phone, this was just a message machine talking, not a human being. Saying that I and my lawyer must talk to IRS about serious tax issues.

I received a call today claiming the gentleman was with the IRS stating I had text fraud audit's on me begin to ask personal information questions and then asked my age was a good shape if I lived with family members and at that point in time I said I live with my husband when I said that the guy hung up and then about three minutes later called back my husband answered the phone and the man began to threaten to kill me if he were not able to get to me through my husband and if my husband allow him to have his way with me that he would spare my husband's life I then called 911 in our county the dispatch refused to do anything about this please be aware people this is a scam and they will do anything and everything to scare you and threaten you to make you think that there is something seriously wrong and they will take things from you!

They called me again with the same message as before as if I didn't notice this I let it go to Voicemail.

Call from 202.534.3926 with heavy accent claiming his name to be "Officer Jason Miller" from the IRS Internal Revenue Service requiring a call back immediately to 716.442.3058.

Caller spoke English with heavy accent, claiming to be Harry Smith from Microsoft stating my computer was infected and was downloading massive amounts of data.
I got suspicious and found this site with google. Glad I did a search.

I just received a call from this scum in India.  Called back told them I knew they were complete frauds and told them to cease all calls to me.  They hung up on me.  Will now wait and what happens.

From the FBI Homepage: Telephone Collection Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

12/01/2010?The IC3 receives a high volume of complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. In these scams, a caller claims that the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check cashing services.

One of the most insidious aspects of this scam is that the callers have accurate information about the victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. The method by which the fraudsters obtained the personal information is unclear, but victims often relay that they had completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls began.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide to the victims any details of the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers threaten victims with legal actions, arrests, and in some cases physical violence if they refuse to pay. In many cases, the callers even resort to harassment of the victim?s relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters instruct victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain dollar amount, on a specific date, via prepaid visa card. The statement further declares that the victim would never dispute the debt.

These telephone calls are an attempt to obtain payment by instilling fear in the victims. Do not follow the instructions of the caller.

If you receive telephone calls such as these, you should:

   Contact your banking institutions;
   Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file;
   Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger;
   File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.

I have reported this scam to the FTC and I have received a case number. I have reported this scam to Interpol. Hopefully we can catch these guys!!!

This same group of do***ebags calls me a hundred times a day...I have reported this group to the authorities in my city as well as the department of justice.  We are filing a lawsuit if you would like information about a lawsuit or would like to make it a class action lawsuit, let me know.

Hi I keep getting a call from this number and leaves a message about some investagation and that I need to call him as soon as possible

I just got the same call stating that his name is   Offier Harry Conner. from the State bureau of Investigation Heavy Accent.

Just got the same message!! This is a TOTAL SCAM!!!  I sought advice about this and was told to do the following:
1.  Contact Homeland Security @ 989-497-0580
2.  Call all three Credit Bureaus and file a "Fraud Alert" so your SSN can't be used to ruin your credit!!!
WE HAVE TO STOP THESE IDIOTS!!!
