Gene from NFIB won't leave message.

Nation Federation of Independent Business. They called for my boss.  He wouldn't leave a message.  We used to be part of them, but not anymore. http://www.nfib.com/

Call came in at 1:40 PM Pacific Time.   Screen on phone displayed "National Capital"   I did not answer the call.   A message was left from "Guy Sanders" indicating that he was called "on behalf of Dr. Peter Jacoby" with a call back number of 800-661-8771.

I called back and actually spoke to someone who claimed to be Guy Sanders.  The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) outsources political fund raising to a company that employs Guy Sanders.

I asked Guy Sanders if he knew that the number that showed up on my phone screen was associated with a telemarketing company, and he said "Yes".  He then explained the outsourcing arrangement noted above.

Unless you wish to support NEMPAC (The National Emergency Medicine Political Action Committee), I would suggest ignoring these calls

Do you really think Romnie (sp) can do a better job? Lets try him out for four years and see how much of the taxpayers money he can shift into his offshore accounts, maybe that will pick the economy up (NOT)

THIS COMPANY IS CALLED NFIB, NATIONAL FEDERATION OF INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES.  MY BOSS IS A MEMBER HOWEVER, THAT DOES NOT MEAN HE WANTS TO TAKE YOUR CALLS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FOR MORE LOBBYING MONEY.  IT IS APPRECIATED WHAT THEY DO FOR SMALL BUSINESSES BUT THE PHONE CALLS ARE BORDERLINE HARRASSMENT.  IF MY BOSS DOES NOT RETURN YOUR CALL THAT MEANS HE IS NOT INTERESTED, IT DOES NOT MEAN TO CALL ON A DAILY BASIS UNTIL YOU FINALLY GET THROUGH.  WE HAVE A POLICY HERE AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO PUT YOU THROUGH TO VOICEMAIL UNTIL MY BOSS DECIDES TO CALL YOU BACK.  HOWEVER I HAVE HAD TO CALL AND REPORT PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN RUDE AND HARRASSING.  THE NUMBER IS 202-546-6874 GOES DIRECTLY TO THE PERSON WHO CALLED YOU.

Why?

Caller from this number calls numerous times over and over every few days.. By law when you tell a telemarketer to "Put this number on your do not call list" legally they have to stop calling. He calls several times a day, hangs up on me and has even been very hateful and say "oh, I will keep calling". Who ever operates this business is a psycho. The workers or people calling for this business is giving this company "Captel" in Washington, D.C. a bad name.

I will be reporting this company listed with this phone number to the better business bureau -Everyone having the same issues should as well!!

Just called my cell asking for first and last name of someone not even close to my name.

So John Philbeck whoever you are -  someone out there is calling people at random trying to find you.

Caller ID says "National Capital."  Hung up when machine answered.  I suspect RNC, RNCC or RSCC.  It is that time of year - the silly season.

this number calls a couple of times a day - no one says anything

I just received call on cell phone with no message left, which prompted me to research the source of this number as well and review these notes.

To respond to Ann Marie's note of 1/12 -- Association of Financial Professionals (AFP) is a totally legitimate organization to which most financial institutions/banks, industry software vendors, and company treasury professionals belong.  I suspect AFP simply uses this marketing outfit to reach out to members for renewal (which would explain why I received call; I have not yet renewed for 2012--have been member since 1983).  In the past AFP used their own staff to conduct this activity; it appears they may have now outsourced it.  

So it sounds as though getting a call from this number could cover a wide range of purposes, some legitimate but unfortunately many (most?) of them negative.

Woman called claiming to be from the Association of Financial Professionals and inquired if my boss, John Karr, wanted to renew his membership.  He doesn't have a membership with them, nor had I ever heard of them.  Found out when I googled the phone number (202-546-6874) that she lied, and it is someone trying to raise money to fight legislation.

Replying to myself.  Just found out who this is.  It's National Capital Teleservice.  It's a telemarketing company that handles solicitation for a variety of clients ranging from charities to surveys, etc.  This is their web page and this phone number is on the home page as a contact.  Mystery solved.

That said, I still don't want these people calling me.  It defies understanding how that simple message doesn't seem to get across. Don't call me.  If I want to donate to a charity or have my opinion known, I will do so and I will select the charity or forum.  My decision, not yours.  Do not solicit me.  It simply defeats your purpose.

Caller ID says "National Capital."  Don't know anything about these people.  There are reports of something called "National Capital Management" trying to collect on phony debts but I don't know if this is the same thing. I don't have any debts, old or new.  Don't know who this is.  Will report if they call again.

It is NFIB  National Federation of independent businesses. They are a legitimate organization. They have been lobbying to get the federal govt to stop creating regulations that are putting independent businesses, out of business and killing the Job market. If you want to work for someone other than the Govt. or if you are a small business owner, they are trying to protect you.

Multiple phone calls aday.  Want it stopped

I just called the number, and requested to be put on the do not call list.  They could not have been nicer - I gave them my phone number and state and they said I would not receive any more calls

the name of the company i work for has 'McCain' in it. they would not respond when i answered the phone with the company name and then i heard someone say "----McCain----- they must be related" and then hung up without saying anything else. I called this # and they were going to look into it and call me back which didn't happen.

That number shows up on my caller ID as "National Capital Service".  They call several times a day and never leave a message.

They are driving us crazy, as well, calling at least 1x a day and leaving no message. I don't want to answer because I am sure they want money!

This belongs to 'CAPTEL', a fund raising organization in Washington DC. Below is their CEO and an e-mail address for him.  I send him an irratating email every time I get an unsolicited call from them!

I am trying to operate a business don't have time for these phone calls..

If what I'm reading is true, then I'm extremely bothered that these folks leave msgs on our machine saying that they were asked to call by my husband's former boss??!! Who exactly are these folks? A lobbying group?
