Looks Like a scam.  faxed me a "Award" for my support of the republican party.

i thought i was the only one up for the award.

And how whould they know what support I give?

I was told By a person by the name of Roberta Pawes that I was nominated for an award by Senator John Ensign.  Scam.

You call and basically you are told that there is no cost for the award but for a small donation you can become a member of the inner circle.  They drop names like Ronald Regan and Norman Schwarzkopf and of course Senator John Ensign, you are asked to call the assistant Bevely Moore at 1-202-552-1104

My boss just received a fax from these people. Needless to say, we're not calling them, especially after reading all the comments. I often Google my bosses mail before he ever gets it if it looks a little bit unusual...as this one did.

Thanks for the info - I too got a fax -- I"m just an average doctor in the south who often votes republican but am actually a registered democrat.  Glad I googled it all !

Received call about a bogus award from Senator John Ensign's office.
What nonsense. It was probably an illegal looking for donations!

We just received a call from 202-552-1104 regarding a confidential fax that would be coming within the hour.  I did call the number back, and they continued to ask information to "confirm" my identity.  Still have not received a fax....

Our office received this call today asking for our President of the company. It was referred to me, but since it sounded suspicious I checked it out first and found this site.  After some additional investigation we found that Senator Ensign is from Nevada, however that number is not his.  This is definitely a bogus call and I doubt it originated from his office.  DO NOT DONATE OR GIVE ANY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION TO THESE CALLERS!  Legitimate organizations do not look for donations this way.

Just got the same call...*69'd the call and of course it was unavailable. This is ridiculous.

Received a call today from Matthew informing me that I have been selected to receive the American Spirit Award.  With my fax number they would fax the details.  I have found several articles and believe this is some scam to receive donations.  I have found where other telephone numbers exist for this scam as well.

My boss (husband) received this fax at work also.  Had to laugh.  He has never voted republican...ever. Only reason I knew the phone number, is because the gentlemen who called for the fax number said if I didn't get this "highly confidential" fax in the next hour, I should call this number.

I have also just received a similar fax. This is a shameless scam. John Ensign should be voted quickly out of office for participating.

My boss rec'd a "highly confidential fax" from the Office of Sen. John Ensign, Staff Member: John Goody - representing the National Republican Senatorial Committee...awarding my boss the "American Spirit Award." The call back number was: 202-552-1104. From my web gleanings, I have determined that this is a fund raising scam on the part of the Republican Party (who'd guessed that one?). "We would like to honor you with this reward...it will only cost you $xxxx$..." Don't want to pay, then no award...
