A very official man asked for me at my place of work. Then sent me a fax saying they were giving me the highest honor the US Senate can bestow upon an individual.... the American Spirit Award???????? And I need to call assistant Kevin Siegert 202-552-1331 as soon as possible to accept and even if I want to decline. The letter is signed John Ensign Senator Chairman National Republican Senatorial Committee

I just sent this email to Concerned Women organization in D.C.:

I am going to tell you this just one time. For months I have been receiving unsolicited phone calls which come up on my Caller ID as Concerned Women -- 202-552-1331. The phone rings 3 times or if I answer there is a disconnect. These calls are an invasion of my privacy and I am on the DO NOT CALL List. I do not want to give my phone number here . . . I want someone to reply to this email with an explanation to which I might reply with my phone number so it can be taken off of your calling list. Or the name of a person that I can call to fix this problem. IF THIS IS NOT DONE AND I RECEIVE ONE MORE PHONE CALL, YOU WILL BE REPORTED TO THE FCC! I have done a Google search on the above phone number and evidently lots of other people are also getting these annoying phone calls. It will not be tolerated. I have probably received 50 of these calls over the past 4 months!!!!! I am making a copy of this for my records!

These people keep switching numbers. Just call, no voice no nothing. This occurs every evening.

my husband answer the phone, and the caller id says concerned women. he sayed they asked for me, so he pretended to be me, and then they hung up. what is this number? wish people like this would stop calling, If I want something I will call them.

I received a fax stating I was nominated for this American Spirit Award.  When my  business manager called them, they wanted to talk to me.  I called them and same story ... I need to give $1000 to be in the inner circle of NRSC and bla .. bla.. bla.  I am going to call the Senator John Ensign and  see if he knew anything about this

Got a fax that said I won an American Spirit Award, knowing that it probaly was a scam I called and they said Congratulations you have on the republican iner circle award and it is a great honor but we do ask you pay  a feww to be in the "inner circle" Ha Ha. Do they think we are all idiots! Don't fall for it.

202-552-1331 has created a list of business owners and is calling tosay "You have been nominated" ... for an American Spirit Award ... This is a back door fundraising campaign -- To win you must contribute a minimum of $1000 - $2000 --- The people making the calls a re a telemarketing company - not the office of the senator --- This is a fundraising scam not an award ---

Many hang up calls and finally an operator answered.  Stupid me gave them my fax number.  They sent one fax so far.

oh ya it's scam i received the same letter and i did my research and i found this web, and all what you say guys is true it's scam, but i mean how could they get away with that put the senate picture and signature, or he is really asking for donation himself, by the way the phone number for the senate office in DC is diffrent than the one they provide

received call, and the person did not identify themselves, and stated it was from a republican senator about sensitive information.  she was rude and just asked for my fax number, and i asked well who are you?

I'm not even a Republican! My caller ID said "unavailable" darn the luck. I googled American Spirit to find ths site.

Called from this number 202-552-1331 saying that they had confidential info to send me from the ofice of Senator John Ensign. You could clearly hear in the background many callers on phones leanding me right off that they were selling something. As above said I was suppose receive an award from Republican of US. I don't vote so I know it is not for-real. Person said that their name is Linda Champion. Trust me it is a fake company, tring to scam you!

The reason the phone rings and you hear nothing is because it is an auto dialing system.  It will not connect you to the caller until the system recognizes that a human has answered the phone so when you answer and say Hello, there will be a delay before you hear the other party.  The other party will not come on the line if there are no available reps to connect you to.  Hence it is a convenience for them and an inconvenience for you.
This number is a telemarketing company number...the scam they tried to play on me was that I had been selected to receive the American Spirit Award by the US Senate for my outstanding accomplishments etc blah blah.  Now while I am a wonderful person and have many great accomplishments, I don't think that I am at the top of the Senate's list nor spoken about in Senate hearings on just how great I am so I pretty much knew it was a fundraiser/scam of some sort.  And yes indeed, you call the number back and listen to a tape recorded message by Senator John Ensign and they want you to pay for your award in the sum of $2000....but wait there's more.... :)  <-- always wanted to say that.
Because Senator Ensign wants you in his "inner circle," they are willing to reduce the amount to 1000K...I flatly responded with NO.  Then they drop the price again and if you don't go for it (I didn't), they thank you and that is the end of that.  I guess Awards cost money these days.
Had another caller today trying to sell me credit insurance - they are the worst!  I asked him to hold on and put him on speaker and mute and left him there.  hahhaa.  It was fun.  After about 5 minutes, he finally gave up.

I received my call and they never ided themselves. When I asked how they got my #, the TM said you have expressed an interest in conservative views previously. I responded after a deliberate dramatic pause-that does not answer my question. My question was how did you get my number? his response was to hang up on me.

I receive a call from RNPC at lerast once a week.  At least  they manage to call when I am not home.  However, they have never left a message so I can't swear to what their motive is.  I wish they would stop, though, as I no longer consider myself a Repulican.

Calls have been coming for about two weeks.  The answering machine picks up, but no one says anything.  Is there a way to get off the list?

The jerks call me every week or so.  Never leaving a message.

We've been getting calls from the RNPC for the last week or two--sometimes 2 or 3 times a day.  When we check the caller ID, we let it go to voice mail.  They keep asking to speak to me, and there's no way I'm talking to them, especially if they're asking for money.  We have an unlisted number, so I don't know how they got it.

I keep getting thise calls from RNPC 1-202-552-1331 (just received one at 8:06pm, 29 Jun 2007) and there is silence.  This is the 4th time!

No one on line.  Continue to call every day, but do not get a chance to tell them to take me off their call list.  Very frustrating.

So they just called me back!! I answered 'I told you to take me off your call list yesterday!" He says "OK.."  I said "So why are you calling me again?" He apologized and said he'd take me off their list. sure.

Republican National Policy Committee .... Seems that they can get around the do-not-call by being a recognized political party entity.

With the current track record of the recent political individuals, I am expecting some type of (tea party) soon. But, I figure that they would just rather hire some illegals to do the work for them. Cheaper and they are plenty on just about any street corner South of Main street around here.

Hard workers though. My neighbor hired 2 at 50 bucks a day to clear off and mow down their lake lot.  50 bucks cash and a case of beer each.
The local company wanted 1800 bucks for their crew to do the same work.

RNPC on caller ID....No one on the line ....only silence...Sure wish these type of calls would cease.  We are on the "no call list"...but it doesn't seem to stop them...

Phone rings. I pick up. Wait 5 secs for the telemarketer to say hello. Guy asks for my wife. I asked him if this is a sales call. He pretended he didn't hear what I said. Then he gets testy and says I'm calling for xxx (my wife)!  I say: don't call me back and take me off your list. Then I hang up on the sorry sack of s***. I hit this website and see the www.mysovereignty.org referenced.  Great.

Caller was a live person who recited information regarding the amnesty bill. Then he played a promo on why I should not want the bill to pass. Then a machine told me there were 8 callers in front of me. I waited. He then came back and solicited money to fight said bill. He said they could not fax or email information to me but they will mail info to me. He also said I could go to their website which he said was www.mysovereignty.org . If I spelled this right I came up with nothing. I don?t want the bill to pass but I am very suspicious.
