This number called and when I answered they hung up. When I tried calling back it said this number is not in service at this time

YES IT IS A SCAM/ THEY HAD CONTACTED ME LAST YEAR AFTER I FILLED OUT AN INQUIRY FOR A LOAN/ USUALLY WHEN YOU FILL OUT QUESTIONAIRES, FORMS OR ANYTHING ON LINE WHATEVER COOKIES THAT ARE ATTACHED SENDS OUT ALERTS TO ALL THE FREAKS/ THEY CALLED REPEATEDLY EVERY HOUR LAST YEAR/ THEN THEY HAD STOPPED AFTER I IGNORED THEM/ THEY JUST STARTED UP AGAIN/ IT IS A SCAM!!!! THEY ARE LOOKING FOR YOUR PERONAL INFORMATION SO THEY CAN COMMIT FRAUD/ DO NOT ANSWER/ DISREGARD THE CALL /DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION/ IF YOU HAPPEN TO ANSWER/EITHER SAY THERE IS NO ONE HERE BY THAT NUMBER/ WRONG NUMBER OR HANG UP/ THIS IS A SCAM A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN FRAUDED /THEY GO BY SEVERAL PH# BUT 202-552-1545 IS ONE OF THEM/REPORT IT TO THE AUTHORITIES.

-  new  twist  is  they  are   also  impersonating  DEA  officials   with  threats  to  arrest you  unless  you  immediately  send money  via  wire   transfer /  western  union   to some   offshore  country  !!!!!   obvious  scam  !!!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  you  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

It was a foreinor I could not understand a word she said, when I kept asking what she said, she hung up.

Its a scam out of mylasia the FBI told me, they claim to be some American Law division and and the phone number is a google voice number that is being used.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!!!  they with threaten to arrest you, sue you blah blah blah the FBI advises its a scam from outside the United States and there is notthing that can be done about it expect have the number blocked.  :(

Started receiving these calls yesterday, about 5 between the two days.

Finally answered, asked who is calling and why do you keep calling?

Hung up.

they keep calling my phone back to back , and hasn't left a message.
