202-558-7442 just called my cell phone and left an automated message.  What kind of legit company would really do that? They left a case number for me to call back and reference. I don't have any outstanding loans or collections at all.  Thankfully, I walked into 2010 with no debt so this company is full of it for calling me!!!!!!!!

Send them a DO Not Call Letter.  If you do that they can not... by law call you... they can only send you snail mail. They can get in trouble with the FTC if they continue to call you.  Be smarter then they are.

I amswered the call with "this call is being recorded". CRA called me. She must not have listened to me so I repeated it. I told them that there was no one here by the name they asked for. She threatened me and asked her to repeat it again. She did and I said "thank you, I have that on a recording." she said I could not resord it without her permission. I told her that shew was told at the beguinning of the call. She said she wasn't. In Illinois only ONE party has to be told and since I already knew I did not HAVE to tell her. She argued. I told her this was going to be sent to the FCC for telephone frued. She hung up.

some lady just called for my boyfriend when i told her he wasnt home she said im calling for a litsa mackey and i said who? she said litsa mackey i said i dont know who that is mam. i asked what does she have to do with my boyfriend she said shes filling out paperwork and he had her down as a relative. so im thinking who the hell is this lady talking about? how did she get my number? i thought he was messing around. but when i looked the number up online i came across this page and read about the whole debt thing. and my boyfriend has unpaid loans and stuff so i think that lady jus made that girl up.

Just got a call too and these people have very poor customer service. This is about a debt over 10 yrs ago.
The last rep I spoke with wouldn't let me speack back to the original person I was talking to. She said the lady was standing, so I ask could I speak with her and she says absolutely not. I understand this is a bad debt but if I'm trying to make arrangement with you then don't cop an attitude and begin speaking to me like I'm a child. She tells me she's a manager so I ask for her supervisor, she then tells me no and what I needed to do; which was open an account so that they can do automatic withdrawals. WTH. Then she hangs up.

Rcvd a call from CRA call me about a card from over 12 yrs ago.  I requested they not contact me and he began to badger me and tell me he was going to notify the irs because I owned property.  I advised him that I was recording the conversation and his threats.  He then tried to tell me the laws for my state which I already had reviewed to see we are a 1 party consent state.  After telling them to stop calling me he began asking questions about my employment when I refused to answer any of his questions he hung up.  I have the entire conversation recorded in the event CRA calls again

Never give out personal information on the phone unless you are ABSOLUTELY SURE you know who is it and why they need that information.

They game me a "case number" and we have no credit problems or known reason why anyone would be calling under such suspicious circumstances.

I just got a call from this phone number on my mobile phone on MON FEB 01 2010 @ 02:25 PM CST AND some female said that she was with a company called:

They called my CELL-PHONE!! Asked for some chick I had never heard of before or maybe they just screwed up on my name... Either way, they've been calling Everyday!!! I'm Tired of it!! Why do these people even have a phone? They would make more money, if they just left us all alone! (Just think of all the payroll checks they have to give out!!! LOL)

They called a cell phone that does not even belong to me, is not in my name just is a friends loaned to me to use.  They got my first name right but wrong spelling and had a total different last name and last four of social security.  I am dying of cancer and told the woman take me off the call list as I do not wish to be harrassed, she said she would but we shall see, she would not even tell me what it was regarding.

THESE PEOPLE CALLED ME ALSO.. DONT KNOW HOW THEY GOT MY NUMBER. A RECORDER ASK ME TO HOLD THEN A LADY CAME ON THE LINE AND ASK FOR MY NAME. THEN ASK IF  S.S.# END WITH MY LAST FOUR I SAID YES THEN SHE TOLD ME TO HOLD FOR A LEGAL REP. THIS PERSON TOLD ME SHE WAS CALLING TO COLLECT A DEBT FROM 1998. FROM A OLD CREDIT CARD DEBT THAT WAS 12 YRS OLD. I ASK HER WHO SHE WAS AND WHO SHE REPRESENTED TWICE UNTILL I THINK SHE SAID CRS.  I ASK HER FOR HER NAME SHE IGNORED ME AND SAID SHE WOULD FILE  A1099 C ON ME. They called my cell while I was at work. Didn't know the number so i let it go to voicemail. They lady said her name was Casey and she was calling from a company called CRA. Looked CRA up on-line and I got back Canada Revenue Agency and Computing Research Association. She also gave a random number to call back 866-584-0926. Never said why she was calling just that I needed to call her back as soon as I get the message. Don't know why she called or anything. I called the 866 number and got music.

I called this number as they called my fathers cell number. When I asked them who they were they told me they were from Civil Recovery. I said this is not the entire name of your company, what is the entire name of your company? She said can you give me the number you where called from? I said not until you tell me who you are and they hung up. This is one of those shady debt collection services. Don't trust them!!!!!!

They want my bank account number and routing number to settle a debt from the year 2000.  Threatened me with a form 1099-C and the IRS. Gave me a call back number to give my bank account information to.  That phone number is 1-866-947-5169.  Don't give them your account info!!!!

He said he was Ashton Kitchen and he had rec.a file and that I must call him today cause he needed  to get a statement from me,1866-584-0926,no company name and sounding ie tone of voice like it was an emg.that I call him or that I was introuble,My 81 yr old mother heard mgs.and it made her sick,these ppl.need too be stop from making these kind of calling.

The owner of the house I am currently at got a call from this number. Looking for my wife regarding a pending legal case in another state. My name is not even on this house my mail goes elsewhere and I do not know the  phone number to this house. I use a cell. I have no communication with my wife so no passing a message. They are harassing a non relative about a nasty soon to be ex.

By the way, they called from 202 558-7442.

These people have called me several times looking for some stranger. When I called them to take my number off their list, they said they would and then called me back an hour later. When I called them back, the man was extremely rude and cut me off mid-sentence with them comment: We already took your name off the list, why are you calling us, don't call us back! Wow, now I'm the harassing caller???!!!!! What jerks! Do I have to change my number??? Apparently this stranger goes around giving my number as hers. It's very annoying.

YOU MUST ALSO REPORT THEM TO YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL and the State Attorney General in every state they have offices.

THEY ARE A licensed  COLLECTION AGENCY THAT USES ILLEGAL COLLECTION TACTICS.  THAT MEANS THEY HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR CREDIT REPORTS - that is where they are getting your info.

I got the same # that called my cell 2 times, I finally called back. Got sent directly to music and a Mr.Garrow answered and asked for my phone #. (since they'd already called it 2xs, I've at least give him that info cause they already had it) He said there was a lawsuit with JP Morgan Chase for a carc I had about 9 years ago, which currently I know for a FACT has 0 balance on it and has been closed out for ages. So he was lying right there. He asked me to confirm my info and I said I'd seen that they were not a legit firm and he got snooty with me and said I refused to give him any money or information and he said "fine then we won't offer you a settlement then!" and hung up on me. My worry is, how the HELL did they even get informantion that I even had a chase card way back when?? I know all of what he said, was a lie cause I have proof showing it's paid in full. Scammers, call and at least see what they're claiming you "owe" on, it could be something what I just learned, something I KNOW I do NOT owe on.
