i.ve got a $9200 grant waiting for me. All i have to do is get a "Green Dot Money Pac" something or other, deposit $350 in/on the acct./card(?). You have to deposit $350 to raise the acceptance level of the account up to 10K..Sure sounds like he's on the up and up to me. He was so nice he wanted to stay on the phone with me while i went to the store and open the account. In the background i could hear all the other "grant winner" notification calls, no wonder we're broke. i told him to call me back next month. i wonder if he'll give me his account number?

I received a phone call today from a Richard Wesley first to tell me I was selected in this one in a lifetime grant. He then gave me another number which to my knowledge was the financial manager, 2027384039 her name was Clara. She wanted me to get a money pak card for $300 as a security deposit. I decided to look into it and it obviously seemslike the same.scam I see that you guys have experienced. Do not give in to these people they need to be stopped.

Beware of the number 202-657-6842 and the name Gary Moore. The person is evidently not ethical and his language is a mess. At least, the money has gone up to $9,200...nice enticement but he will not receive a hero cookie. Nothing in life is free but genuine love and it costs something.

Got the same call from UNKNOWN on July 8. I was so excited why I could hardly contain myself. I had to apologize over and over for drowning out the caller with my glee. I live 20 miles from a city so sure let me rush out to the nearest Western Union and plunk down 250 dollars. Oh by the way I was not to let the WU people in on my good news. I told her I had prayed for this and now this money would change my life as I was so in need with medical problems and all. We finally got to the 250 dollars and I told her I could get it from my mom cause she just got her social security check or is my Granny hadn't been to the grocery yet I could borrow it from her. I could not believe this lady with poor command of the English language actually dashed my dreams by hanging up on me. I hope no one falls for their bull.

I got a call for $7800 government grant, just take $250 cash to Western Union call 202-470-1113 while at Western Union and they will wire $8050 after receiving my wire for $250. All because I pay my taxes, bills and haven't been arrested in the past 6 months. Janet Brown was the caller with a Jamaican accent.

They called me and said I won $7,800 and i have to got to a weston union with $250 or a family dollar to claim my money

Add these two numbers to the list: 208-392-5058 and 202-684-6935. I was told I was chosen by the Federal Government, Dept of Health and Human Services to receive this $7,500 grant because "I paid my bills on time, had no criminal history and did not file bankruptcy." I was also given another phone number (second one above) to call which was their "Account Department" to verify the money. They even gave me a confirmation number to use. Needless to say, I knew right away it was a scam as I have dealt with many of these scammers in the past. Different stories but comes down to the same thing: they want your bank account information.
I asked a lot of questions just to see what they would say, asked for their name, asked them to spell it, asked where they were calling from, how they would pay me. I asked if I needed to provide my bank account information just to see what they said and they said, "Oh no. We can just put it on your debit card." Yeah. Right!!! I love playing with these people. They are such a-holes and I hope they all get caught. They can't even speak English for God's sake. I could hardly understand the guy. Oh, and the name of the guy that called me was Jordan Ramireg.
I always report these kinds of people and then call them back and threaten them that I will be reporting them to FBI and anyone else who wants to listen to me. I even tried "harassing" one of them by repeatedly calling them back stating I was an attorney and was going to sue them and shut them down. Eventually, he stopped answering his phone but before he stopped answering he swore at me up and down! Use your imagination. :) Thank God they didn't have all of my info and my bank accounts have been fine.
Boy there are such a-holes in this world and I can't believe that the government can't catch up with them!

Add 202-470-0874 and Kim Leon to the list...how very sad that this scam is still on-going now for over two (2) years and the "real" government is apparently unable to stop it.

FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION WEBSITE
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt134.shtm
?Free Government Grants?: Don?t Take Them For Grant-ed
?Because you pay your income taxes on time, you have been awarded a free $12,500 government grant! To get your grant, simply give us your checking account information, and we will direct-deposit the grant into your bank account!?
Sometimes, it?s an ad that claims you will qualify to receive a ?free grant? to pay for education costs, home repairs, home business expenses, or unpaid bills. Other times, it?s a phone call supposedly from a ?government? agency or some other organization with an official sounding name. In either case, the claim is the same: your application for a grant is guaranteed to be accepted, and you?ll never have to pay the money back.
Don?t give out your bank account information to anyone you don?t know.
Scammers pressure people to divulge their bank account information so that they can steal the money in the account. Always keep your bank account information confidential. Don?t share it unless you are familiar with the company and know why the information is necessary.
Don?t pay any money for a ?free? government grant.
If you have to pay money to claim a ?free? government grant, it isn?t really free. A real government agency won?t ask you to pay a processing fee for a grant that you have already been awarded ? or to pay for a list of grant-making institutions. The names of agencies and foundations that award grants are available for free at any public library or on the Internet. The only official access point for all federal grant-making agencies is www.grants.gov.
Look-alikes aren?t the real thing.
Just because the caller says he?s from the ?Federal Grants Administration? doesn?t mean that he is. There is no such government agency. Take a moment to check the blue pages in your telephone directory to bear out your hunch ? or not.
Phone numbers can deceive.
Some con artists use Internet technology to disguise their area code in caller ID systems. Although it may look like they?re calling from Washington, DC, they could be calling from anywhere in the world.

I recieved a call from these people on 6-23 and twice on 6-22 offering $7800 Government loan I wouldn't have to repay. I blew up at the lady with a heavy accent and she hung up on me. The phone number only showed as UNKNOWN. They didn't get a dime from me. I hope there is a way to stop these people.

I just NOW received a call from a lady (Mary Johnson) telling me to go to the nearest credit union and send them a "refundable" $200 and ill receive $7,800.00. So glad I googled this. I knew it was too good to be true! It would be nice to have that extra money but like someone said up there, nothing in this world is free. I will be making a complaint asap.

Got a call today 5/2/12 from phone number 202-560-8384. Offered $7,800 for $200 security deposit! Had to go to Western Union today in the next 15 minutes. Ask why I needed $200 to verify my ID. Ask why couldnt it be done for $25? Was told it was regulation!!!! Regulation my a**. Told the lady (Filona Morris) I'd received money from Western Union before and never had to deposit money before I received it. Told her the Western Union employee verified my ID. Run from these people. Do not give them your personal informatiom!!!!! I hung up on her and called FTC and filed a complaint. Also, followed up with the Atty General's Office. Can just imagine them taking advantage of someone like my Grandmother. Shame on them.
