it called me late in january and when i call it it says

"the person you are trying to reach has not set up a voicemail yet sorry"
this is what your iphone sounds like if you don't answer and you didn't set up your vmail

You are so right and on point!!  People moan and complain the "FCC" is not blocking unwanted calls....how in the world can that be possible...everyone needs to read your excellent post.

Unknown caller--- does not leave message.

Within the last few days I heard a news article on a local radio station warning its listeners that hackers have defeated  the caller id privacy and security p[rotocal. They can have any telephone number and any caller id meassage show on your caller id. That means they pretend to be your banker, broker, ect. ect.  do  not ever give any personal info to a caller only to parties where you initiated contact and due be cautious even then.

When you dial this number back it says the verizon wireless has been changed, disconnected, or is no longer in service. And then disconnects with a busy signal. Received this call on January 18th.

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM 202-579-6896 AT 4:45 AM ON 1/27/2013.  REALLY EARLY FOR A ROBO CALL!
I DIDN'T ANSWER IT.

They called repeatedly until I downloaded a call blocker and blocked it, now they have switched to a different 202 number

Seems with the Interweb, you can get any prefix or number on the line... I wonder if they aren't calling from outside the country... I've seen calls from 911, from 000-000-0000 ^ so on since that started. I don't bother picking up, and you shouldn't be charged for texts or messages you don't download..

Ask information, but don't give any. Should they keep calling, yu might have a lawsuit for troll calling.

I missed the call.  It was on my cell phone and I did not recognize the number.  I use my cell only for emergencies and the only ones that have my number are my children.  Even if I had received the call, I would not have answered as I knew it was not one of my kids.  I have received calls from this number before......I never return the call.

Called @ 5:29PM on Friday, January 18 but failed to leave a message !!

got a call from Washington DC; no one on the line; I get several of these kinds of calls a week. I am expecting calls from across the country so I cannot forgo answering an unknown number.

I've been getting phone calls from this number and two others that are scams. The other number read "Frat Ord Police" and "State Trooper". this number simply reads as the number, but same thing happens in all three cases when I try to phone back: outgoing message, mail box is full, then hang up.

Some ppl think their houses are being cased/watched. some have been asked for money.

I am reporting it to the district attorney's office. Of course I am on the Do Not Call Registry. that doesn't seem to matter.

It's annoying and creepy. The State Trooper number seems to originate somewhere in Yonkers. Be safe and on guard! Let's stop this weirdness! Report it!

Unknown caller.  Called me at 1030 Friday.  Left no VM.

Received call on 1/18/13. Called number back and got a Verizon message that the number has been disconnected or changed. Obviously this is some kind of scam.

Got a call from this number.   Answered  it but with silence.   Called it back to get" this number is no longer in service " ?   How can that be? I didn't change the number and the call log shows that thisnumbercalled in and out.

I didn't recognize the number calling and didn't answer. Caller didn't leave a message.

I just received a call from this number on my cell phone also. So ANNOYING!!

Called my ATT cell phone a total of 25 times between between 8:23 pm to 9:01 pm...
Never did leave a message!

This phone number called (and is still calling) repeatedly tonight.   WE've had over 20 calls in the last half hour.
The message says that pressing '1' and they will remove us from their call list.  We did this but they still have not stopped.
I hope that the source of this can be located and that they can be stopped.

It's a cruise you won. I thought it was illegal for this BS to call cell phones? I really wish I knew his to get their a***s in trouble. Waisting my minutes on nonsense! Call came in at noon on Jan.17 2013

I have over 60 of these spam calls from all over the country. I've assigned each one an alphabet letter and saved the call in my phone junk file. If a call comes in and if the phone shows letter AG I know its spam and won't answer the call. If anything, I've learned not to answer the call if I don't recognize the number. The do not call list and complaints to the FTC are not worth your time because its donut time in Washington DC and you know the federal government can't be bothered with little old you and your pesky complaints. I wish I could forward these calls to the White House.

I answered " Congrats, you won a trip to the Bahamas" and I hung up

i answered the call.. they said i won a free cruise if i answered a survey... i didn't' do it cause i was at work. and then when i called back only a few minutes later and i got that the phone number got changed or disconnected

SCAM:  On NCL, unlisted.  Scammers, ring twice and hang up.

just received a call from this number on my work cell.  as soon as i answered and identified myself, the call hung up.
