This is a scam.  The computer generated voice states that it is the IRS calling and if you call back and verify your financial information you are entitled to an additional tax refund.

IRS wanted me to pay them 197.00 then i would get my 2173.00 back that i missed out on for the last three years... they had all my info... SS, DOB, Telephone # and address

Recieved a call saying I needed to call asap. Looked up number and is fake..

I think its a scam to get ppls personal info. DONT ANSWER

got the same phone call saying they owe me addtional $2,173 called that number back and it just rang! deff a scam be careful people

Got a voice mail from this number today.  Message says, "...additional tax refund of dollars two thousand one hundred and seventy three is to be paid to you as a measure of security. We require you to call our department at verification on 2025799434. I repeat it's 2025799434. Your refunds will be credited to your account once we verify your credentials. Thank you and goodbye."

If it's not obvious from the accents that it's an outsourced scam call center, then the fact they need to "verify my credentials" should definitely be a RED FLAG!!  We need to stop this ASAP!!

Received a phone call this morning that the IRS can increase the amount of my refund check if I verify some information to them.  Naturally I called the real IRS and they informed me that any increase in the refund check will be mailed to me not over the phone.  The IRS agent didn't recognize the phone number.
BE VERY CAREFUL EVERYONE.

Just the same phone call and the message said call back to this number to valid your information. I call back and it rang and then there was a beep and then dead silence.

Just got the same call with a robotic voice stating I was due an additional $2,100 dollars on my tax refund and to call the number back to verify my information.

They just called me wanting information and when I asked them was this a hoax they hung up and when I tried calling back no answer it went straight to voicemail

I called them back from a different phone # then the one they called me on and it just kept ringing.  No one would pick up.  Then I called back on another alternate # and someone finally answered.  I told them I knew where their call center was located and had been scouting them out and had placed a bomb in their building.  That should keep them on their toes.

i got a same call from 202 579 9434 its a scam i called the irs and they said its a scam if they need more info they will send a letter with all there info and id #....and when irs call they give full name and id # that can be tracked threw irs employment.and also there an email with a subject line ?NOTIFICATION OF CONSUMER COMPLAINT? is not from the FTC.

WARNING!!!  You see this number pop up on your caller ID or phone, DO NOT ANSWER IT.  Once you answer, they know that it is a real number of a real person.  I arrange immediately to block the number from further calls.  If it is the first time (they change numbers constantly), I pick up the receivier on the first ring and immediately hang it back up.  Do it two or three times in a row and they think they have reached a non-working number.

I do NOT understand how these scam artists can continue to get a phone number assigned to them.  Just my opinion, but something needs to be changed in the laws of applying for a phone number.

Last year I became victim to Identity Theft.  It was the IRS that caught it when someone filed a phony tax form using my name.  It has been a year from hell for me.  The IRS does not make calls or send emails asking for personal information.  They will communicate with you via postal mail only. IRS asks you inform them of these emails or calls by phoning 1-800-829-1040.  The FTC has an ID Theft Hotline.  Their number is 1-877-438-4338.

Recieved a call regarding money from my tax return in the amount of $2,0073.00 but in order to have it deposited they wanted more personal information.... What the heck?

I got this called today asking for my info when I asked if this was really the irs the representative got mad and said that my refund check would be held back another year because i needed to pay a certain amount to get the refund and i could only do it today.

THE IRS NEVER CALLS YOU!!  report this number to the FTC ON LINE. It's a scam to steal your information

Got a call and left a recording saying it was the IRS verification department and I needed to call them back about my refund. I called them back and the had a strong accent but said it was the IRS and I needed to verify some personal information and the could deposit my refund. I told them I had already recieved my refund then he said he needed the information for the last five years taxes. I hung up

I got a call from this number today the caller said they were the IRS . If I'd call them back they would deposit my refund into my bank acct.

Received a call today from this number.  Caller ID said wireless caller.  When I answered I got robo message saying that it was the IRS and I was entitled to an additional tax refund.  Looks like it's time to start the Tax Season scams again.
