I'm on the Do not Call registry, but yet i continue to receive these calls where there is no message. they are annoying, what is the do not call registry for if you can continue to get these calls?

I am getting really fed up with a collection agency that refers to themselves as Sovereign Bank. They make reference to my name, and my supposed wife. I have never been married to the woman that they are referring to. When I called them back to tell them they have contatcted the wrong person, they expected me to prove who my identity. I told them to get lost and get their facts straight. They then threatened to go after me in court. i told them to go right ahead, because I am not the person you are referring to, and that I have never had an account with Sovereign Bank. That was a year a go, and know I getting these calls two to three times daily. They should be sued for harassment.

Thanks for posting this information. I just got a call, didn't recognize it, so let it go. Since I have the voice mail removed from my account (just for this purpose of preventing telemarketers from accessing me), I had no idea who it was. This is the second call that I've had from this "company" but this was a new number. Previously they used 866-379-2003.
With Verizon Wireless, I just add them to the BLOCKED call list (allowed up to 5).

Call came in at 2:14 p.m. on January 21. Left no message. This call followed multi calls for the last few days from 727-556-7300. I once picked up and heard an Indian voice. The only word I could understand was Macy's. I hung up.

Just got a call on my cell from this # at 4:01 (ET). Although I answered it, no one came I the line so I hung up. My # is on the DNC list.

received this call at 10:13 pst on 21 january left no message,i'm on the do not call list but it does'nt seem to matter,hate these scam artists.
