Guy called said his name was Daniel Adams, could barely speak english.  Government Grants  202-599-9670.

Same thing as previously stated strong accent, said he was from governments grant office.  What I'm wondering is, I sent my resume to a job on craigslist, and the email I received back was obviously a scam.  Now I'm wondering if their connected.  Anyone else have this happen?

I'm getting phone bombed by a Money Scam system and this is one of many numbers they are using, If they leave a message they don't speak good english, hard to understand what company name they are using, don't answer or call back, not worth your time.

My wife received a call on her cell phone from 777-312-5069 at 4:17 PM advising her that it was Danial (his spelling for Daniel) Webber with the government's grants office and that the government was returning $7000 from taxes in the form of a grant. He then went on to try and confirm my wife's name and address at which point my wife asked that he call back because she had to go. He called back at 6:32 PM from a restricted number - his heavy accent was the give away that it was the same guy. I chatted with him for a while during which he said he worked for the government of the US of A. He confirmed his name (again) and said his address is 200 Independence Ave, Washington, DC 20201 (which is the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Grant folks) and that his phone number is 202-599-9670. He then wanted me to confirm personal information about my wife starting with name and address. I asked him if he knew what time it was in DC and he got it right! However, I said how common is it for government employee's to work this late. He ignored the question and asked me what I knew about grants. I said lots, are you with IRS? He ignored the question, and told me the call was being recorded by his supervisor so stop asking questions. He continued on about how I had to confirm the information because he had to return my taxes. I told him I have been tax payer for more than 30 years and Government does not give back your taxes via a grant. He insisted I allow him to do his job and confirm the information he had. I told him I did not want the $7K grant and asked him to give it to Mr. Obama to help pay down the National Debt and hung up. PS - at one point he confirmed this was NOT a scam!

I was called from this number. Caller ID say Dist. of Columbia. A man with an Indian accent asked for a Mr. Roberts. I told him that we received many Debt Collection calls for a Mr, Robert, but he was not at this number and asked they take me off their call list. He asked if I knew where I could find Mr. Robert. I said I have no idea who he is. He said maybe I should get an idea...I told him to take me off his f*%king call list and hung up.
I called the number back (202)-599-9670 immediately. A man with an Indian accent answered. He said that I was calling the US Government Grants division and was speaking with Office Sean. He said that no one had called me from that number. I told him that I would file a harassment claim against them if they called again. (no idea if I can or not, but it's worth a shot).

It is a scam - give these people no more money!

THEY TOLD ME I WAS GRANTED A GRANT UPTO $7000. THEY MESSED UP ON MY MONEY ACTIVATION CODE AND WANTS ME TO PAY ADDITIONAL $199 ON TOP OF $150 I ALREADY PAID THRU MONEY GRAM.
