Get several calls a day. They never leave a message. Who are they?
These people are crazy.
jen 2012-04-30 23:29:55 Unknown
Not only do they call several times a day, but they then allow the dial tone to play loudly and intermittently before hanging up. Very annoying...

Response to Shirley's message on 1 Feb 2010: THANK YOU so much for the helpful telephone number to call to be removed from the AICR call list. I work at home and these calls have been driving me nuts for weeks!

I receive a call from this number at least three times a day, including weekends. I answer the call, but no one answers on the other end. I attempted to screen the call, but they do not leave a message.

Very annoying... I don't need anyone calling me to donate... These people are
solicitors and get paid for making these calls...I don't answer my phone and they

Maddog 2011-06-06 20:41:39 Unknown
I have received 3 calls from 3 numbers over a period of 3 days all from AICR. Made effort to add number to my blocked calls list and was informed the number could not be blocked. WTF????
Nancy 2011-06-06 20:41:39 Unknown
This company calls my house over and over . They were told that I'm not The person they are seeking. It didn't stop the calls. They continue. I asked if they are a credit collector and the man on the other line told me he did NOT have to identify himself and was very nasty He hung up on me.
bill w 2011-06-06 20:41:39 Unknown
They will wait a month or two and start calling again. They call from many different numbers. It is hard to believe a legimitate company would keep calling and changing numbers and never leave a message. But it must pay off, 'cause they keep doing it even though most of us will never talk to them. I know I won't.
Lew 2011-06-06 20:41:39 Unknown
January 19, 2010 I believe it is the American Institute Cancer Research. Other people said its Mothers Against Drunk Driving. The number must be a fund raising company trying to get donations for whoever they are working for that week. Remember 90% or more goes to the caller and 10% or less goes to the charity. They have been calling at least once a day for a while.
Annoyed 2011-06-06 20:41:39 Unknown
Get several calls a day from AICR from different numbers. Won't leave a message, and won't speak when phone is answered.
Shirley 2011-06-06 20:41:39 Unknown
I called the FCC and spoke to a representative of FCC. I was told to fill out a form and send a documented listed of the times, various numbers, etc. Unless multiple complaints are registered the FCC is not apt to follow-up on the complaint. That being noted, I called AICR (800) 843-8114 and asked to speak with a representative of AICR about Telemarketing. I was transferred and a representative told me that I would be removed from their phone contact list. She asked me for my name and phone number and assured me that I would be removed within 48 hours. I asked her to look at the complaints on the internet about the unwanted calls. THE NUMBER TO CALL AT AICR TO GET OFF THEIR CALLING LIST IS: (800) 843-8114.
The various numbers that AICR is calling from verified by my caller ID is:
202-652-4598
202-495-7181
202-607-2726

RECEIVED A FEW CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER CID SAYS IT IS AICR ---- THEY NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE AND USUALLY HANG UP BEFORE ANSWER PHONE CLICKS ON. I DON'T ANSWER THIS STRANGE NUMBER WHO ARE THEY?
Tom 2011-06-06 20:41:39 Unknown
Try this: If they are calling you frequently and you're not really expecting calls from anybody else for a while, forward your phone to the police or sheriff's department if you have call forwarding. I did this once on a call that kept coming in during the wee hours of the morning. After one more call, the calls stopped.
Barbara Hulsing 2011-06-06 20:41:39 Unknown
I hve received numerous calls from AICR. I screen my calls so don't take them, but it is annoying. The calls come from various numbers, but this number is one of them.

I am receiving calls from 202-607-2746. The caller ID shows BCR. It is also linkerd to 1-800-831-7311. This is a debt collection company. Last night I advised someone name Jill that I did not know who they were looking for, and that no one by that name lives at the number they are calling. She said that she would have my number removed from their data base immediately. Well guess what? I received 2 more calls from them today. I even blocked their phone number through my telephone company, but the call came through anyway.

Also receiving calls from 202 607 2726 -AICR. At 8 am. Multiple days. Horrible!
How do I complain to the FCC? Anyone have the info/form to fax in?
Terry in Austin 2011-06-06 20:41:39 Unknown
If you are receiving "blocked" numbers, they are probably "spoofing" the number, making it look like the blocked number, but actually something else. It is time for a consumer revolt.

I have had several calls from this number. They even have a 443-701-9642 number. The 202 number comes up as Call Center DC and I found out that both numbers are originated with Bureau of Collections Recovery, Co.

I receive several calls from this number every week. I wait several second but there isn't a recorded message or anyone on the line. Not sure if they are calling my office number or cell phone as I have my office calls forwarded to my cell most of the time.
Diane, Lockport IL 2010-03-27 20:50:53 Unknown
I receive several of these calls. No one leaves a message. I get calls from 202-607-2746 and the caller ID shows: Call Center, DC. The other number is 202-607-2806 and the caller ID shows: BCR. Apparently these numbers are affiliated with eachother. No one leaves a message, they call several times everyday. If it is SO important, then why don't they leave a message?

Received several calls over a week, even on Sunday afternoon. Caller ID says AICR. Probably a telemarketer.
