Repeated calls with no message left. I am on do not call list. AICR listed as Cancer research on net but why would charity call several times a day?

Calls several times a day for weeks now.  Never leave a message.  I don't answer if I don't know who is calling.  Irritating.......Stop calling me!

I called (800) 843-8114.  They answered American Institute for Cancer Research.  A very polite lady named Renee took my name and number and told me I would be off their phone list within 48 hours.  We will see.  I've been getting calls everyday for the last two weeks.

I finally got so furious I called Verizon Customer Service. Man was more interested in reviewing my service and seeing what else he could sell me so I persisted...referred me to their

UNLAWFUL CALL CENTER.  The woman there took my information and called this supposed American Institute for Cancer Research and told them to stop calling me; they said they would put me on THEIR "do not call" list but that it could take 30 days for it to take effect.

I suggest everyone do this; maybe if there is a flood of 'official' callers telling them to take us off their list they will.  Since they are not-for-profit the Do Not Call List does not apply to them, unfortunately.

When I told the woman caller I was on the Do Not Call list, she said that did not apply to her so I do not
know how she is or the company.

I called the # that jiminvt gave, and a woman answered, and transferred me to a guy who said he would remove my phone # right away, he said he would e-mail it to someone.  Hope it works!!  Both were very pleasant to talk too.

Every day we get a call from ACIR 202-607-2805 and I am getting sick of it.  The last few times I have answered and nothing, then I hear a click.  Enough is enough please!!!!!

we are getting calls from this # at all hours and days. they will not answer the phone when you call back.

I called and talked to a guy who had an outrageous foreign accent.  Before I had a chance to ask, he said "Would you like me to remove your telephone number from our list?".  I could hear him typing as I gave it to him.
No apologies, but if this works, that will be great!

After 12 calls in two weeks, and nobody picks up when I answer, I did some research.  Call 800-843-8114 and ask to be connected to someone who can remove your number from the call list.  The fellow I spoke with was polite and apologetic and mentioned a problem with their automated dialer.

Caller ID says from AICR private message that could be embarassing etc.  The same message has been left by various other numbers 800 and with 714 CBE GP  ALSO 609, 301 757,866, 845 AND IT GOES ON AND ON ---I can't get it to stop,  I have had my records checked and I always check just fine so whats happening????

Why to they call several times a day, don't leave a message and sometime call late at night? I am on do not call list but the still call.

Not for profits as far as I know are not affected by the "No Call List"

i have received calls for the last three or four days. no messages left and caller id reads AICR; also on do not call list. cannot call from my land line or cell phones

202-607-2805 (?) has call me several times lately.  Since caller ID was invented, I don't answer these, unless I know the #.

woman who called from 202-607-2805 said cancer research. she would not hang up until I cussed at her. obnoxous.

This name (ACRI) and number were on my calleer ID today as a missed call but no message was left.  Will see if I receive others as previous posts have indicated.

It is Cancer and they want you to forward mailings that they will send you to you neighbors using your postage asking for donations. She said, if we send you the address will you mail them to your neighbors. I told her, if you have the addresses you mail them and hung up. Muscular Dystropy is also doing this.

According to reports this is the American Institute of Cancer Research.  They called before 9:00 a.m. this morning.  Each day they call about 4 times.  I will never contribute to an organization that continually calls me and refuses to remove my name from their list.  I will also never vote for politicians who call.  Consistently demanding and pushing people to donate or vote is not the proper thing to do.  In a weird sort of way - you are bullies.  You harass others to get what you want.  Not a good idea.  You need to change your methods and attitudes.

FRUSTRATINGLY PERSISTENT CALLER, BUT THEY ARE DEALING WITH AN OBSTINATE INDIVIDUAL WHO REFUSES TO ANSWER ANY CALLER WHO IS NOT RECOGNIZED AS A PERSON OR BUSINESS WHOSE CALL WOULD BE WELCOME.  THIS AICR ALSO CALLS FROM OTHER NUMBERS ALSO.  I'VE MADE A LIST....IMHO SOLICOTORS FOR CHARITIES SHOULD SEND THEIR REQUESTS VIA THE U.S. MAIL, IN WHICH INSTANCE I MIGHT GIVE THEM SERIOUS CONSIDERATION;  HOWEVER,  I NEVER CONTRIBUTE ANYTHING TO A TELEMARKETED SOLICITATION.

Why can't someone do something about this? These people give a bad name to good causes everywhere. Its getting to the point that we don't want to donate anymore because it just unleashes a whole pack of more charities calling like this AICR. They will not remove you from their list if you ask by the way.

we are geting at least 4 calls a day from this numner.  early mornings for is as we are on MDT and calls coming from D.C. area.  very persistent.

Calls frequently ID shows AICR no messages...but consistent with calls VERY ANNOYING..
