Debt Collector
Oh my friends:
I can't imagine what they want from me.  My payments are posting on time and I am still getting f***ing phone calls without a message.  Quit calling if payments are on time.  I do not want to talk to you.   Sh*t!!

This is not a Capital One collection agency.  This is NCO Collections solely for Credit One Credit Card.

You tell them not to call you anymore and they are like mam it takes 48 hours to take you off of the billing list. they piss me off so much.

I gotta a new phone and they are calling and asking for the lady who used to own this phone. probably a dead beat who didn't pay any of her bills, including her cellphone bill. I tell them she's not at this phone anymore and tell me that they are 'sorry' and will take the number off their list, but  yet someone else in their office calls me the very next day. I'm going to go back to Verizon and demand a new number that's not been used or at least not for a long time! I know now NOT to to go to NCO Financing or to get a Capital One Credit Card.

This one is the BEST yet!  I make my payments early if not pay the full balance every month and they still call me at all hours of the day!.  I have reported them to the better business bureau ,spoke to the supervisor at this phone number (capitol one)and she assured me that the calls would stop, obviously not.
THREATEN TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNTS and that should help.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL

NCO has been calling me a lot lately, but what was interesting about this call was the Caller ID said "DC Wireless" on it.  I said I was not here, and he did not leave a message or identify who he represented, but he said that this call may be recorded.

I think they are trying new tricks because if their caller ID accurately reported their company name, no one would ever pick up.  Cowardly, to be sure.

They call about 3 to 4 times with this number with about 30 minutes apart plus they call from about 7 other long distance numbers 3 to 4 times.  In one day they call at least 8 to 9 times a day using 3 to 4 different numbers. They are NCO collection agency.  They are relentless, ruthless and even if you talk to them they will lie to you.  You make a payment and still they harass you non stop.  Whatever they tell you will be a big fat lie.  All I can say is if you can make payments don't make it to them send it to capitol one.  Bypass the SOB's.

They call continuously throughout the day from several different numbers and even call early on Sunday morning. They never leave a message. I have talked to Cap One about the account. The calls come every hour of the day beginning just before 8 am and after 9 pm. How are they allowed to do this? I have four calls in the last hour.

Oh dear god they are so frigin' annoying. Yes I owe, yes it's past due,yes we tried to set up payment, NO we can NOT pay in full like you asked. This had been discussed many times so why keep calling? They call my cell several times every single day. Today started at 8:36am and has been every 30mins. I kid you not. I'm not even up at that time because I don't get home from work lot of times till 1:30am. HELP!!!! I have a very hard time sleeping as it is due to a wreck I was in which is why I fell behind and owe these people in the first place. I'd like a little rest and peace sometimes. These people are nuts and there has to be something we can do. Isn't this harrassment?!

this number calls my cell phone every hour.  And then they call my job.  When the call is transferred over to me, they immediately hang up.  Isn't that a form of harrassment?  My manager has told them not to call my job but they still do.

This is a collection agency that 'Capitol One' has hired to harrass you.  You want to blame the NCO or MCO or whomever they hide themselves to be, but you are missing one important factor - CAPITOL ONE hired the hinch men to ruff you up - even after you make payments, make arrangements, etc.  The company has been fined in so many States in this country - yet they still perform.  How is that possible?  Capitol One.   You ask them to not call your number and, according to the federal law, they have to stop - but they don't.  Why don't they care?  Because Capitol One is paying them off to harrass you.  What other reputable credit card company does this?  None.

So fight back!   What moves faster than the word of mouth?   Nothing!  Not even this stupid internet communication.  You've got to speak to other people.  Pass the word and that word should be:  DO NO GET A CAPITOL ONE CREDIT CARD.  You should tell your friends, co-workers, bus drivers, people on the street - talk about it!  Stop hiding!  Tell how Capitol One hires their harrassins.  Talk about it in the clubs, at a dinner party, etc.  SPREAD THE WORD - Capitol One hires harrssins, stupid telephone calling hinch people for a buck.

You want to change them?  Tell.

The only thing we all have in common here is being irresopnsible with our creditcards.  Capital Once didn't do this to us, NCO didn't do this to us, we did it to us.  Your being reached by an autodial system.  If you don't want the phone calls, actually open the collection letters you are receiving, send a letter to the address on your collection letter stating the following:

"Pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I am demanding that you cease all communication with me by telephone".  If you get calls after that record the exact date and time and go see an attorney and collect $1000 per vioaltion.

Another good idea is to pay your bill....

Sunday, July 12, 2009 555:39 p.m.  Called again, again left  no message.
Cannot believe anyone would call on a SUNDAY!!!  Do not know who or what
this is, but am extremely aggrivated by the constant harassment of the
phone calls.  It is not a company/person with whom I am familiar.
Will be reporting this to the authorities.

That is rude to say!.. Did you ever think that maybe the bill was paid and it continues to be sold over and over... yeah that happened to me.. I paid the bill then 3-4 months later another 3rd party agency tried to collect on the same bill... took care of them and 6 months later another 3rd party agency tried to collect... these bottom feeders just sell accounts over and over ...

Debt Collector
Non-debtor's Right

Under the TCPA, a consumer has a right to file a lawsuit and recover $500 for each call that violates the TCPA. The TCPA can also be used in conjunction with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in some situations.

Generally, the TCPA does not apply to debt collectors making collection calls to debtors. However, if you are subjected to calls from a debt collector and you are not the debtor, you may file a lawsuit against the debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA.

This right was recently recognized by Judge Legrome D. Davis in a case called Watson v. NCO Group, Inc.  NCO Group is a debt collector that uses automated prerecorded collection calls.  In this case, Mr. Watson alleged he was getting hundreds of calls from NCO Group after he got a new phone number. Mr. Watson claimed he owed no debt to NCO Group, Inc.  Mr. Watson filed suit under both the FDCPA and TCPA.

David Israel, defense lawyer for NCO, argued that the TCPA should not apply to debt collectors.  Judge Davis rejected the argument made by David Israel. The judge ruled that Mr. Watson had a right to sue NCO Group Inc under the TCPA for $500 for each call.  Judge Davis wrote;

[The] Court is convinced that a non-debtor's rights are in fact violated when he is subjected to repeated annoying and abusive debt collection calls that he remains powerless to stop.

Judge Davis' ruling was based upon his interpretation that collection calls to non-debtors violate the privacy rights provided by the TCPA.

So what can you do if you receive "wrong number" calls from debt collectors?

1. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry.
2. Save the calls captured by your voice mail or answering machine.
3. Contact a consumer lawyer.
