Did a lot of checking with the help of my son and the calls are from India. So that means that this particular number seems like it came from Washington but that is not so. What you do not see on these calls is the countries origin and that  is  the  + 91 and than 2026404817
 So this is a    scam and a big one if they  can make  a call  like it is coming from Washington.  Actually India has  very intelligent  computer specialists . That is probably why most of the calls we make for computer help  transfers  to  India.  We are outsourced

I've been getting same bs calls and am too pissed off...but now, the gov't can't balance budget, comprehend the irresponsibility and peril of runaway high deficits (that's spending, obama), stop fraudulent bankers from nearly destroying our economy, prevent illegal crooks from sneaking into OUR country, prevent 911, stop wasteful pork projects (that's grand larceny people) etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum.  So what makes you think the lazy, overpaid, corrupt "civil servants" can fix this little problem?  Very pissed off.....

Recorded voicemail left from this number and, similar to other reports, it was an attempt to collect money for an anti-gun control campaign.  The call was received 10:27AM on 4/1/2013.  While I never concede to give to anyone who attempts to collect funds with a phone call (how do I know you're legit, even with a credible caller ID), I would not ignore the message behind this plea.  Our rights are being whittled away with every stroke of the current regime's pen.

Called the FBI, now I see why it took our goverment so long to find Bin Laden, but from what the guy told me was the calls are spoofed by hackers in India. They are aware of the problem and are working on resolving it... Taking them forever to get nothing but a location of where the calls are from, India, wow. They worry more about tracking American Citizens every place we go but scammers and hackers from other countries have been doing this one scam for a year now.

This is going to be a growing problem more and more in this country as more business in this country especially Dell Computers, Direct TV, etc... continue doing more out sourcing for cheap labor. Mean while, these people in the 3rd world countries have all of our information and now they want to know why we have a identy theft problem in this country. We need to stand up and stop doing any business with any company that outsources any of the support or sales.

Political calls are exempt from do-not-call list. I've received a call from them too and did not answer. Its irritating but...

Ah, the dreaded area code 202! Spam/scam/phishing callers love this number. People just know it is from D. C., and that makes it important! This is no April Fool's joke!

I stopped the message that was being left before it could finish.  It's a recorded message from Rand Paul wanting me to help him stop gun control legislation.  Instead of calling me he should call the NRA.  I'm sure they will help because they are against gun control legislation, as well.

I'm getting a call from 202-640-4817.  When I answer, they or it hangs up.  When I call back it says this # is disconnected.  This is very rude and intrusive and I'm pissed off.  I wish authorities could get involved and do something.  I'm also a part of the do-not-call-registry which doesn't seem to help in this case.

I answer the phone from this # and they hang up.  I call back and it says that this is a disconnected #.  This is very irritating.

Been getting political calls wanting $.  Have husband in alzheimer facility.  Unnecessary calls upsetting.  I am also on do not call list.  Political calls I am told are exempt.  All money flows to DC.  They need more?

Just received a call from this number.  I didn't answer it - don't know anyone in Washington D.C.  They left no message.  I have been bombarded lately with these random calls and I am on the "Do Not Call" registry.

Tired of these soliciting calls. I don't have the time (muchless anything else) to give to these idiots! Stop the f*ckin  calls!!
