Have been getting a lot of calls from this number.  They call quite late in the evening.  Sometimes it shows up as Cancer Research, sometimes just the number.  There's never anyone there if I do bother to answer.  There must be some way to stop these calls.

I keep getting this call too. It is listed as "cellular"  The voice was a truly old lady said that it was a Cancer Research group.  

First off, why are they calling via Cellphone?

Second, why do they take forever to answer? (if they answer at all?)

I have been called 9 times in the last 5 days.  It is the American Cancer Research Institute.  This morning at 8:14 a.m. they called again.  I called the number back and did receive an automated message system asking me if I wanted to be removed from their call list.  I did so but received a message that it would be removed within 30 days.  That's not good enough.  I looked their number up on the web in Washington, DC, and filed a complaint.  The operator put me in touch with "DON" and he said he would take care of it immediately.  Here is their number:  1-800-843-8114.  Let's see if Don does his job.

Most recent call came while I was out. No message. Caller ID showed: Cancer Research. Same number has called a number of times before, but always showed: Unknown Caller.I have never answered and no messages were ever left.I am on No Call list, but a lot of folks are finding ways to circumvent that law.

This number not only calls me, it is now calling my parents. I spoke to a person once and told them to remove me from their list. I kept receiving calls anyway. I asked to speak with a supervisor because I was filing a report against their company since I am on a state and national do not call list. The woman was very rude, told me a supervisor was not available and one would call me back. I told her you have 5 minutes. A man called back and I told him I asked numerous times to be removed from their list and the request was not taken care of. I have no received a call since then, however now they are calling my parents. These people call from 3 to 5 times daily. All I can suggest is insist on speaking to a supervisor and threaten to report them for harassing phone calls until you get your number removed. I am now trying to search them to get my parents number removed.

I was reading the other complaints and ran across this number 1-800-843-8114. It said to call and ask for Don. I spoke to him and he said he was going to remove my number from their records. Hope he comes thru.

My mother is 84 years old.  It is hard for her to get up and catch the phone when it rings.  Then, when she answers the call from this number, there is no one on the line; and no message is left either!  They call her 3 - 4 times a day.  I consider this harassment.  She is getting very frustrated with this continued phone tampering.  Please help us to put a stop to these people.  On Mom's caller ID, it states the call is from the Cancer Research.  PLEASE STOP THIS MADDNESS, AND LET MY MOTHER RELAX IN THE TWILIGHT OF HER LIFE.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!!!

8/15/08 Same experience as those above. Caller ID showed "Unk name" Googled the number and found this site. Decided to leave my statement too. Lots of complaints here.
Damn shame obvious scams continue to function.

I keep getting a call from this number but no one answers when I pick up. Many calls during a day.

Had two calls from them in the last two days.  We let the first one ring and they didn't leave a message.  The second time I picked up and the line went dead.

I get 1-2 calls per day from 202-652-4597. When I pick up there is no one there.  AT&T said to use call blocker.  AT&T looked up the number in their reverse directory and said it belongs to The American Institute for Cancer Research.  I googled them and they have a different phone listed.  I called them and they say they do computer generated calling to solicit money. Though their web site looks good, the person I talked with had difficulty expailing what they do.  

I ask to be removed from their call list.  I will wait to see if that works before I use call blocking on my phone.

202-652-4598 for Cancer Research....yeah right.  On my Caller ID system, it will remember the last 99 numbers.  As of this evening, I have received 18 calls from this number.  I am filing a complaint with the FCC and trying to figure out how to block this number permanently.  We need help!

Just received call, no one was there when we answered. Showed up on caller ID as AICR , is that American Institute for Cancer Research? Baffling, but at least I know it isn't anything urgent like me winning a million dollar contest or something.... hah!

did a trace on one of these numbers. says it's an unlisted cell phone.

These people have two different 202 numbers in my ID. They told me they "are the group who gets the ladies mammograms, honey". If you know how to block calls please post.

I've received numerous calls from 202-652-4597, my caller ID shows AICR, didn't reconize the caller so I do not answer, they are very persistant, that's why I did a reverse Phone lookup

I received a call from this number today, and when I answered on the first ring, the other line hung up.  It is not possible to call this number back.  Sometimes we receive these calls from various untraceable sources and they will occasionally answer but only if a family member of the opposite sex answers, as if they are targeting one household member.  Frequently, these "mystery" callers will talk to you for a few seconds but hang up if you begin to ask to have your name removed from their calling list.  We have contacted the State of Maryland in the past about calls that are obviously scam callers and want your credit card numbers, etc., and have received no help.

I keep getting calls from these SCAM ARTISTS and I'm tired of it. My number is suppose to be unlisted but these SCUMBAGS keep calling anyways. They won't like what I'll have to say next. Because they are nothing but LOWLIFE SCAM ARTISTS
