I knew this was a scam from the beginning and made up some phony information. Told "Ethel Jones" that my name was I. P. Freely which see repeated several times and that I was born on Feb 30th. Kept her on the phone for over half an hour asking her about movies and her recommendations, where she lived in D.C, if she had ever been to the  Smithsonian, if I left my wife would she go out with me. Since she told me she was from England I asked her about what soccer club she supported. She was so frustrated with me. So I asked her to repeat my info to make sure she it down correctly. It was awesome. I accidentally hung up on her so I hope she calls back.

She then hung up on me.  What can we do about these people?

Brian Thomas from (202)657-4306 called and said that I had $7,500.00 waiting for me at Western Union for paying my bills on time and they only pick 12,000 people from my state for this government grant. When I had a feeling that this was a scam it prompted him to give me another # to a sup's main line (202)738-1973 if I had any question. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM ......HANG UP THE PHONE AND BLOCK THE # IF POSSIBLE !!!!!!!!

Political Call
Well today was my day for the "big call" glad I have enough sense to do a little research. Besides when I'm being rushed while asking questions, there goes the big red flags!!! I'm a single mom on a fixed income with a child going off to college while unemployed. So blessed God gave me a brain and common sense. Thanks for all of your stories! I hope that others will research as well.

I got a call from this number after I hung up on the call from 800-518-4765. Same grant money stuff as everyone else has said. The man from the first call would not tell me his name, then got very short with me a called me a b**ch. I hung up then the girl called right free. The man said I was stupid for asking questions on how did they get my number, who was he working for, and his name. He also said he would not take my name off the call list and that u was stupid for asking that. These people need to be caught and stopped!!

Non-profit Organization
They got me. 6 months ago I was applying for education grants. They confirmed everything I had put in to the web site. I am a single mom on part time work. I needed the money. I gave the $300 and was shocked when they asked me for an additional $650 for taxes. Grants are tax free to the best of my knowledge. I'm out $300 that I can't get back. I should have checked first. This is just awful. And I can't believe I'm so stupid. I am thought god was giving me the money I had asked for and I trusted. I should have known better. God will help you but it won't be a miricale $7500 from the U.S. others is no such thing as free money from our government.

I have received numerous calls from them. We are in hard times and it sounded great. This number called told me I was randomly selected to receive. 7500 and that all I needed to do was go buy a green dot card and load 300 to it to activate it and then to call them and they would stay on the phone w me and I would have my money in ten to fifteen minutes. I was excited but leary thank god my gf was convinced it was a scam and googled the number. So here I am wishing it wasn't a scam but thankful she thought it was and refused to let me put out our 300 which we couldn't afford to do in the first place. Do Not fall for this scam. You shouldn't have to pay to receive free money!! Nor should you be repeatedly called by a company trying to give u free money that won't provide any validating documentation proving why and how you were selected.

I received the call today, so I googled information about it and got the phone number for the Federal Trade Commision.  Their web site is STC.Gov. And the phone number is 1-877-382-4357.  I called them to report it and she took all my info.  Then she told me to call The Attorney General of my state and report it with them which, which I did.  Never fall for this scam.  I even asked the Foreign Man that I was speaking with, "How do I know this isn't a fraud or a scam?"  All he said was, "this isn't a scam".  It is real.  Yeh right.   Just report it and if we're all lucky these groups pretending to be calling from government offices will get caught.

I got a call from this same number, 202-657-4306.  I also was told that it was from the government, grant dept. I was approved. Gave me a clams #, and told me to go to Walgreen's Drug store and get a green . card and put $ 290, dollars on it and they would wire me 7500.   But this is a scam. when you try to call the number back.  The number is no longer a working number...  I got to call it on my cell phone.  But when I told the man that answered the phone he again said he was from the Gov,  grant office. I said this was just fraud. he told me i was stupid and that i was an idiot......

I got the same phone call today  from a woman and she said that I would recieve 7500.00 in grant money to use as I see fit except that I couldn't use it for gambling and she told me to call this number in about 10 minutes so that i could set up a western union place to pick up the money. Instead, I looked on the internet and found that it is a scam like I suspected
