... if its to good to be true it probably is. Lol just got off the phone with mark walters saying 7000 because I was a good citizens with no previous criminal background. Funny though I had to pay 280 to get the money through green dot as a voucher. Seriously, before these people really get one over on someone they  should be imprisoned.

The same thing just happened to me today. Someone called saying I get $7000 of fee grant money and gave me a number to call to claim that money but asked me to get a green dot card and load it with $280 for security fees for the money. I told them I knew it was a scam because I shouldnt have to pay to claim something im being awarded. I also informed him that I looked up the federal grants and saw that people were running scams this way, he started to stutter and hung up! lol

It is a scam.
The government does not offer grants to individuals for personal use.
It is a scam ran by off shore con artists to trick you into sending unrecoverable money to them, you get nothing in return.

The only legitimate avenue for government grants is through www.grants.gov which is the official US government webs site for grants.
From their FAQ concerning fraud:
http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/support/general-support/grant-fraud.html

Please note the following:

No government grant-making agency will make phone calls; send email or letters to solicit money or personal banking information from a potential grant recipient.
There are no processing fees for federal grants.
Federal grants are not issued for personal use, but are intended for institutions and non-profits to carry out projects with a public purpose.
Know who you're dealing with on the web.  Scam artists will often post a website with a name similar to a legitimate site.
If you have provided personal banking information to anyone claiming to be associated with a Federal grant agency, call your bank immediately to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

If you receive a call, mail, email, FAX, or any other form of communication soliciting you for a grant, STOP.
It is a scam.
Report it to the FTC:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0113-government-grant-scams

File a complaint with the FTC. If you think you may have been a victim of a government grant scam, file a complaint with the FTC online https://ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ , or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The FTC enters Internet, telemarketing, identity theft, and other fraud-related complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure online database available to hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad.

Cussed "Mark Walters" out! Told him to go back to Afghanistan and strap a bomb to himself, go out into the middle of the woods, and do the world a favor! Such a scam and he spoke so rudely and disrespectfully to me! This is a serious problem and these "Free Grants" calling companies should be burned to the ground!

For all those helpful tips but I was a Little bummed out to find out that the "Tooth Fairy" is not real. I told the person that he and his organization are scammers, he called me back and started swearing at me.

Boy, what a day!! I found out I was not getting the $7,000 grant and the Tooth Fairy is not real, what is next??

Have a great day!!!

Things to believe:

* There ain't no such thing as a free lunch (TANSTAFL)
* If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
* You have not won big bucks from an unknown benefactor or a grant from the government  <<<<<<<<
* The tooth fairy really does not exist
* Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
* It is illegal to pay money for a loan, BEFORE getting the loan!
* "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
* Microsoft did NOT call you to fix your computer.
* The moon is not made of green cheese.
* The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
* Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
* If you "green dot" or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
