They said they were with the U.S Grants department. Telling me I was approved for a $5,000 grant. They said they will be sending me a cashiers check but I have to pay $150 up front for a bank processing fee.

got this same call today from the same department.  They knew my name and number but had an old address.  the man on the line, thick accent and hard to understand, told me they wanted to send the money because i paid my bills on time.  he then started asking for personal information.  I gave him the run around until he gave me this number.  Was not about to give up anything they didn't already know.  i see now that it is the hoax i thought it was.  hope other people check information out before they give it out.

I got a call today from Tom Bell, ID# 05509, claiming he was calling from the "Grants Department" with the Federal Government.  He gave me a phone number (202-657-4668) and an address (202 Independence Ave SW, Washington, D.C.) where he could be reached.  In exchange, he wanted my personal information so he could send me a $5000 grant for paying my bills on time.  Yeah right!  I could tell it was a hoax because he had old information and could not get very specific about which agency he worked for in the government.

I got a call today from Kaily Smith asked for agent # and she gave me phone # 202-657-4668, claiming he was calling from the "Grants Department" with the Federal Government. and when asked for addrress she gave me  SW, Washington, D.C. She wanted my bank information so she could send me a $5000 grant for paying my bills on time.  I could tell it was a hoax because sheshe had all  my information but wanted verify with me.

Yup ... I got the same call. $7000.00 for me!  I tried to convice them to just go ahead and deduct $500.00 of it for the charity that they request you wire $99.00 to VIA Western Union.  That's 5 x's more than they were asking for. The guy got really PO'd for wasting his time. They  wanted to varify I wasn't a minor and needed my birthdate. I told them 1951. But they neded the month and day. Why? Any date in 1951 would make me no longer a minor!

I just received a call from this number 202-657-4668, and the guy is telling me that this is a Credit Card Collection agency, i don't have a credit card. Mind you, he refuse to tell me the name of the agency. What a load of crap. How do crooks like this get our names and phone number. Where can i report this?

I just got this call from the US Grant Department but when I received the call the caller ID said unavailable number. A guy named David Cooper with a thick accent told me that I was going to receive a $5,000 grant and the only thing I needed to do was to give him my bank information and/or my debit card number so he can transfer the money to my bank account. What I did is report it to the police.
