This gentleman told me I won a government grant that I would not have to pay back. Up to 27,000 dollars. Please stop these people. They may take advantage of someone else.

I recieved a call from this number the person that called a was a male he ask for me by my name then he  tried to Identify himself by giving me supposley his name but sturred and didn't even know it then he said it was a call from Washington D.c. and that it wasa a grant for me .When i ask your calling from where and for what the idiot said  ah  ah ah ah ok not intrested and hang up stupid idots they need to find a ojb and stop scamming people don't fall for this

((202) 657-5201) I received a call stating that I would receive seven thousand dollars because I was chosen out of 1500 Americans.  I went online to view this number and found hundreds of reports that this is a pay in advance scheme.

A women called and said I have win a grant in the amount of $9000 and I needed to go deposit $220. I asked how do I know this isn't a scam and was told its not and that I needed to call Nancy and she to said the same thing and they had people talking in the background..

they called me too but when i asked to talk to a manger ect i got told to f*** my mother ect. so i calledd back and they curse me out a bunch of f****ng american haters and dot head lookin to get money top blow us up again dont give money obama know bout this and wont stop it

I just got the same thing. I played along all the way until the end of the call, then told them I was with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and that the whole conversation was recorded. He got all worried, then I proceeded to talk to his "manager" Alan White. He hung up on me after I told him that I tracked the exact address, and that his whole scheme was illegal. Haha. Dumb a**

I got call from guy. He told me about grant .first I thought was a scam .When I was told the money could be sent to a prepaid card not my checking account.  I got my hopes up called 202-470-4840 then was told to wire $212 This didn't seem right so I didn't. I googled and found this site.     My home phone is my girlfriends name and I have an out of state cellphone .I didn't apply for any grants either.      I think these people are getting info from legitiment sites.  I put my contact info on a several jobsites. I checked a block asking if I planned to further my education Yes.  I have been getting lots of calls from schools now but they are not scams.   I think these grant scamers get your Name and contact info off legitimet sites like monster or jobs.com. Don't know. Other than that I haven't given info to anyone except online job application with major companies. Hopefully this type of thing can be stopped

I just got a call from 202-506-5346, the same thing as everyone else received.  Claimed that I won $9000 grant from US government Grant Dept.  Scam!!!!!!!!!!

This stupid mutha f****n  people call me to talking about I need to send them $280 and $10 for Western Union process they can kiss my a** .its all a big scam free money dont cost I'm reporting them for fraud

This person has been calling me and pressuring me that I have to deposit 210.00dollars in order to receive money from goverment grants and I've had calls daily pressuring me.
And I'm tired of all this B.s.

This women who calls herself Hazel Walker told me I was getting 8000 total from the government.  But first I had to pay her 250 and I would them be reimburse that money as well.  She made very clear that I was to go to WU and not tell them what kind of transfer it was due to high charges.  She wanted me to call her outside the store first to give me directions on what conformation numbers to use.  This is a total SCAM!!!! I knew for two reasons, one the government never gives anyone money for no reason and two why can't I tell WU about the reason and nature of the transfer.  I know this seems too good to be true and that's just what is is.  People taking advantage of the hopes and desperation when times are in need.  The phone number displayed 10 on my phone but the call back number she gave me was 202-697-9459.

I got a call like 2:00pm today saying that it was the US federal Government grants. Now people we all know REAL government businesses are closed on the weekends today is Saturday. Okay I went on to listen to his b***s**t he said his name is Paul. Me: Okay paul what you want? Paul: Well you have money from the ferderal government grants all you need to do is go to walmart get a walmart prepaid card put $140.00 on this card. Stay on the phone while youre doing it then tell me the card number. At this point my heart starts beating fast because im going through alot and 5,000 would help out alot. Me: Ok well Paul I dont have any money. Paul: Call your family and friends and get it you will get this back in 30mins Me: Ok  Paul: Call me when you get there. I quickly got on the internet start researching then I found this website and said hell no and he kept calling from different numbers turned out to be skype numbers?????? Those f****ng golddiggers.

Been getting calls from the same group, same story. They tell me that i won a random selection pool to get a government grant and that I need to go to the nearest western union and the whole story. I enjoy wasting their time when they call. also: there is another scam around as well where they call you saying that your computer has a virus and has been sending error messages. even if it isn't connected to the internet. they try to get you to buy their $100 a year "internal security service" that is 'superior' than other antivirus and antispyware. also a scam, don't fall for it. but if you get the pleasure, it is very fun to annoy these guys into quitting.

Need to stop them from getting money out of my account I fell for it

I got a call from an "Out of area" number, an hour ago. Everything was the same as you guys have described, except the free grant money this time was 12500. I was supposed to take 125$ to Western Union. The caller was John Morrison but had a strong Indian accent. The number I am supposed to call back is 800 827 7048 (his extension is 101). Also it seems we don't claim the money in 48hrs, they will close our file, but will open at their own risk if we call them later. What great customer service !

still going on.  have received at least 8 calls from usually middle eastern sounding persons, all telling me their names, giving me all this 'official' information, all from an 'unknown' number on the caller id.   haven't listened to any of them all the way through, but it's the $7,800 federal grant scam.  just ask where you can look up information regarding this award on the internet, they'll hang up on you.

<Caller "Jason Smith"> Yes mam, all you have to do is go to a Western Union and send $200.00 to verify signature and you will receive $8000.00 once your signature has been verified.

<JudyV> Well Jason, I'm sure you're an upstanding citizen so let me investigate this and I will call you back. What's your number?

<Caller> Jason Smith, my agent ID is JS8007C, my call back number is 202-657-5251. When you go to the Western Union store you will need to bring along 3 items.
1. Cell phone
2. Photo ID
3. Small deposit of $200.00 for the signature verification
After that we will send you the $8000.00 for you to use anyway you want and you don't have to pay it back.
