Me too, it was exact! It smells rotten a mile away. So I asked a lot of questions just to humor him and see what he had to say. He tried hard to get my personal info like bank account number. Credit card number Ect. Good luck, I'm never giving that up. We are too smart for that!

PLEASE  NOTE !!!   THESE  SCAMMERS  ARE ALSO IMPERSONATING   THE  US  GOV'T /  SEVERAL  GOV'T  OFFICES AND   PERSONS....BEWARE !!!

-  new  twist  is  they  are   also  impersonating  DEA  officials  /  IRS   etc....  with  threats  to  arrest you  unless  you  immediately  send money  via  wire   transfer /  western  union   to some   offshore  country  !!!!!   obvious  scam  !!!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign call centers  /  countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  calling  on  behalf  of  a  humane  society..... $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  your  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

please please run its a scam got a call today saying Im entitled to a check from the goverment for 9k I was then given a number 202 738-1016 , and a Appoval code of : JK2202Andy Andrews (manager) , so I hung up called him he asked me how I would like to recieve my money I said cash ...he told me I'd have to pay 260 to my local western union . He also said when I get to the parking lot to call him first before going into western union to give me all the details . I asked him why he said its company protocol . He also said when I get to western union dont tell the cashier that It was money for a grant because they would take 1000 of my check ....these ppl need to be locked up for fraud . Its a shame too do hard working people this way . Just got a call from some Indian guy named Matthew saying that I was selected by the GOV to receive $7000 in grant money.  Gave me a "confirmation number" and said to call his manager Johnny.  Said that I had to pick up the money from Western Union but would have to bring a security deposit of $330 that I would get back when I got the cash.  The whole time I'm asking questions about their location and googling what he tells me. I tell him that that is just stupid that I would have to pay to get grant money...I then tell him that I looked him up on the internet and that this is a scam, he then hurries and hangs up the phone. Just freakin crazy!!

I have been getting calls from this number over and over and over I keep telling them I don't need the money but they keep calling me back!

A lady named Cathy just called from and unavailable number and said i have recieved a grant for 7000 dollars and to call 2026575308 to get it, that number was dead. I guess because i said i wanted it in cash. SCAM!!!!

I recieved a call from a Cathy saying that I was selected for a seven thousand dollar grant from the government. Cathy began verifying my information and she also asked me how i would like to recieve my money. I then told her cash because she wasn't getting no other information from me.  have never heard back from any of them since november 17, 2012 at 7:30pm eastern standard time. Tried calling the numbers back and got a busy signal or the number is no longer in existence.

Except they do have my name and address that's kinda scary. But then was told to call janet morris at the 202 # whixh I did but it rings 3 times then gets a busy signal def. A scam and cnt wait to tell them off the next time they call me.

Jack proceeded to ask my age and how I would like to receive the funds, I told him cash, he then gave me Jeannette Morris phone 202-657-5308 and told me to call in 15mins so she can tell me how my grant money will be released. 15mins has gone by called no answer, so I CALL  Jack back at the same number to verify # and the recording states phone # has been changed to an unlisted #.  YES I WOULD SAY ITS A SCAM.......

Yea these DUMB ASSESS CALLED ME TO ABOUT THE 7GRAND.  I CALLED FROM ANOTHER NUMBER AND FED THEM SOME BULL THEN SHE (JANET MORRIS) TOLD ME TO HANG ON I DID FOR A SPLIT SECOND THEN HUNG UP.  THEN I CALLED BACK AND FOR NO ANSWER HUNG UP AGAIN AND CALLED BACK THEN THEY HUNG UP.  THEY ARE A TEIP.  I SHOULD HAVE TOLD THEM I WILL SEND THE MONEY BY CARRIER PIGEON AND SEE WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE SAID.  LMAO

I smell it millions years light away!!!, of course it is a scam!!!...I google it right away and found all you guys how did you noticed immediately!!!!

First of all why is the original number restricted? Second when does the "government" ever really call you? You'll receive federal posted  Mail! Then she asked my age, I said well shouldnt you already know that? Lol The SCAMMERS were just trying to make sure im of age, then she continued. Also the woman was foreign voiced (no offense) but that alone made me think Scam. I didnt bother to dial the 202- #. I always google unknown numbers. Thanks guys!

I received a call today from 707-926-5021 and he his name is Carl Smith but it shows Carl Stiebel, he said my name came up for government grant and I have to call Jeanette Morris at 202-657-5308 to receive $7000 Western Union and before I call I googled the info. I am glad I did. I knew it was a scam

THESE PEOPLE CALLED ME AND SAID THEY HAVE GRANT MONEY FOR ME IN THE AMOUNT OF 7000.00, BUT I NEED TO DEPOSIT 300.00 FIRST THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM WHY WOULD THE GOVERMENT CHARGE YOU IF THEY ARE GIVING YOU MONEY

I received a call today from the same people stating that I am entitled to a 7000 dollar grant providing that I submit a 330 dollar deposit at Western Union.  I am so glad that I did not give into this scam.  With the economy being in the shape that it is in, I hope that people dont fall for this "SCAM."
