R received same call about name being selected out of 200 and I am entitled to 9,200 dollars but couldn't understand everything that was said. How the hell they know my name, number and state beats me that's why you have to be careful using computer cause as soon you put your information in here a bunch of out of state numbers calling" you won this and that"or "something about education.. I'm tired of it all.my phone is for business and emergencies!!!!!  SHuT them DOWN!

I've been called twice today and they hang up when I answer. I've tried to call them back to have them remove me from their calling list, but I never get through.

They keep callin over and over again guy with heavy accent loud call center says i was being granted 8400 i asked him if this was a joke he said no just need my cc info or bank info i told him i wasnt comfortable with that and asked if they had a number i could call back he said they would call back by monday. Knew it was a scam how idiotic must they think ppl are to just give out our info over the phone i mean come on. He had my address and everything.

They called and a man with a greenery accent said i www to get some gov money.ask for my info i said no way she hung up. He called back  i said no thanx and Hong up again. Then he called back again and left a message saying " fu## u a***ole" and hung up. Lets get they foreign a** holes.

I got a call from this number and did not answer the call.  I hung up and tried to call it back and was told that all of the circuits was busy.

I knew immediately that this was a scam and when I told the guy to remove my name and phone number from their telemarketing list he informed me that he would call me every day and night and then laughed and hung up.  I don't think so!  I promptly blocked the number. I can hardly wait until he tries calling again. Guess who got the last laugh.

I have been receiving calls from the same people. So I called the bank changed all my passwords and codes. Made a call to the police station and talked to someone there in frauds department. They don't have the resources to track the number and they can not do anything about it. so I am waiting on the people call back so I can give them military police piece of mind. Then I am calling the phone co to block the number. So best advice pass the word and don't give any information.

got a call from 202-666-7272 saying i had been selected to receive a federal grant of 8000.00. said it was because i had not had a bankrupcy in the past 12 months.  i asked for something in writing and they hung up on me.  Please shut these people down!

They call and call without leaving a message.  My husband answers and they hang up.  I answer and they tell me that I took some survey online about college.  I have told them I am not interested and to stop calling and they hang up on me but continue to call.

Heavily accented man said he was from the US Department of Grants and that the Federal Government wanted to give me an 8500 grant that I would never have to repay. Normally I like to mess with them a bit and they are much more fun with email but he hung up on me before I could

they keep calling and either don't say anything at all, or ask for "Edna White".  this is the 4th different number I keep getting calls for "edna white" and i agree with the other people - it's a man with a heavy accent and it's from a really loud call center.

I got that call today, and I coudln't understand him most of the time. No matter what question I asked the answer was a long story that always started from the beggning over and over. Government selection of 1,500 people, and pushed 8grand in my face, and I asked how he got my number and the responce was federal government selection blah blah blah, and couldnt say anything when I told him that the phone I answered wasnt mine, and I had no ties to it. Strange how he knew my name though....

This is most definitely a SCAM!!  I just got a call from this number telling me that the Federal Government was going to give me $8,400 because I've always paid my taxes on time and because I have not criminal history.  The women caller (very thick accent) requested that I give her either my bank account information or credit card information.  I asked her if they could just send me a check, and she replied "no we can't do that, it's too large of an amount".  I asked her again what her name was and where she was calling from...she mumbled something in the background and then just hung up on me.

I just got two calls from this number. Caller ID says District of Columbia. When I answered, there was silence on the other end. I like Chrissy's solution. I will offer them an empty pre-paid card and see what happens.

I got a call from same number also saying they was from U.S. Government Grants Office. Gentleman couldn't speak good English, and when questions were asked he did not answer.  when I told him I did not have any bank accounts he could deposit the money into, he immediately said "OK.  thank you.  bye." and hung up.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. They called me 10 minutes ago and an hour ago -_-

I just rec'd the same call that I was selected to receive a grant of $8,000.  Glad I didn't spend it while I was on the phone because as soon as they asked for my account information and I told them I wouldn't provide, they hung up on me.   I just called 877-382-4357 for the FTC to get this number stopped.  They keep calling me and usually hang up before I answer, but now I know not to answer them any further.

Just got a call from this number. The guy with a heavy accent claimed we were randomly selected to receive $8,400 in grants money from the US Treasury Department. Yeah right.

I just received a call from 202-666-7272 offering me $8500 for a grant that I do not have to pay back. The woman had an accent and had a hard time hearing me. She kept pressing for an account number, credit card number or checking acount to transfer the money to. While on the phone I google the area code and saw a list of scams. I asked her if this was something we could do my mail, she said no. I asked if I could call back and she hung up.

i answered and said hello waityed 5 seconds some dude got on asking for someone i said no you tell me why you call and dont answer for 5 seconds i asked him to take me off his calling list and never call me again and he said F*** Y*** i no call your house i call your home then hung up LOL WTF!?!?!?!?!?

Received 2 calls in 2 days from this number, the first call yesterday no one said anything and I hung up. The second call today, when the person said hello, I busted their eardrums with my kids toy whistle.
I figure maybe that will get them to stop, since the do not call list is not working.
This makes the 4th number to call me in the last few weeks, don't know what I did to get on their radar, but wish they would just leave me the heck alone!!
