I am receiving calls everyday from either a woman or male. Both claiming to work for the US government grant department! As of today I have 10 different phone numbers they are using. Some out of DC, PA, CA, GA, and NY, the rest are unknown. Record your calls!! Report them to your phone company and your state attorney's department!! These are criminals and they are targeting us!

Since I have blown a whistle into the phone I have not gotten any calls in the past 53 hours.

That's because they are. This is my opinion but I don't think our government are doing a damn thing to stop this.  I realize this is bigger than I know but damn I'm sure if we can put a man on the moon we can find some idiots scamming our own people for their hard earned money?>

These people just called me and have been calling all day so while they were telling me I was selected for this "grant" I jumped right on google and put in the number they called from. (which is how I ended up on this site).  So I let her give her speech and then I said, Ok now It's my turn listen to this...I read the post below to her word for word.  The entire time I was reading the was saying uh huh...yes...uh huh..Right on through the scam part.  So I finally let her have it telling her that I am an American and if the United States government was calling, I doubt they would sound like they were from Pakistan.  She hung up..

I've received the same calls for weeks, up to 6 calls per day.  I usually don't answer but did a few times to ask them to please stop calling and that I am not interested.  They just seemed amused.

Have gotten multiple calls today. Another bunch of scumbags. Been getting hit with lots of calls from 876 numbers in Jamaicans. The 202 b*****ds are likely part of the same criminal activity where they want you to send them money and they'll deliver a prize of a few million dollars

People, men and women with very thick indian accents, have phoned me telling me I have been afforded a $7000.00 grant.  They gave me another phone number to call.  They knew my name and current address.  Not sure what this is all about.

I got a call from 202 666-8460 claming to to from the Federal Government . Total me that i was being awarded a grant for $8,000.00 dollars.  I would need to give them a creit card, debit card or a bank account number

Farts smelled like poocorn. hung up.

Stop calling.

Did just that.  Didn't give them a chance to say anything THIS time!  Annoying calls from that number!  Told them they've been reported to the FBI fraud line (which I actually did).

I received this call today, and it seemed fishy but I was like what the heck? I have a throw away account I can provide and see where it goes. (I have no funds or deposits going into this account). He actually already had my name and address (scary thought). They had me call back to confirm my deposit of 8400.00 with a specialist. I was told by Samuel that my approval ID was SM1956 and to call Melvin Foster @ 202-470-4838 to confirm the order and receive my deposit. When I spoke with "Melvin" he confirmed my order and asked me for 215.00 for processing fees. He said he couldn't take it from the grant money since processing comes from a different company. Needless to say after seeing this forum I will be sending this information to the actual Department of US Treasury

This number called me, asked if I was who I am, when i stated maybe who is this? they then said with a very heavy asian accent "F$#K YOU, LICK MY A$$" and then hung up!  WTF!!!??? I was laughing very hard.

It doesnt do any good to register your number thru the donotcall.gov website because as per OUR WONDERFUL GOVERMENT THEY ARE A LEGIT BUSINESS...BUT THEY HAVE ILLEGALS WORKING THEIR PHONES CALLING US ILLEGALLY FROM A LIST THEY ILLEGALLY PURCHASED AND OUR GOVERMENT DOESNT CARE SO WHY TRY?

This number has called me 8 times in a matter of 4 minutes.  I don't answer for numbers I don't recognize.  I'm glad I didn't!

Received a call from Justin telling me that I had $9,000 coming to me.  After asking Justin for his last name several times, he hung up on me.

Scam artists

The caller has called me over 7 times in just 2 days. I answered the last call weasel didn't have the guts to reply instead just hung up. Still it is very annoying and coward thing to do. Before I answered this number I looked it up.

Have been recieving calls all day from. 202-666-8460. have not answered any but when you call # back it tells you all circuits are busy.

Calling all day long for over 2 weeks has all my info just still needs a bank account to deposit money from government $ 8400

This number contacted me as well. The man told me I would be receiving $1400 and was from the money would be coming from the U.S. Treasury. He asked for basic information like how old I was and how long I lived in the U.S. He then asked for my checking account information. NO GOVERNMENT AGENT ASKED FOR ANYTHING LIKE THIS. Please be aware of scams. The government will not ask for information like where you live and social security number because THEY HAVE ACCESS TO THIS. If anything, they will ask to verify the last 4 digits of your social and they will say your address and ask you to verify it is correct. Please report this number if you get called. They have harassed me a number of times while I was in school.

this number has called me three to four times a day and all they do is ask if they can talk to me and then they hang up.

I just received a call from 202-666-8460 also. He was calling himself Phillip and also had a very strong East Indian Accent. Claimed he was from the US Dept of Treasury and because I was a good citizen who; has paid my taxes, not filed bankruptcy and not had any criminal cases against me with the Federal Government they were offering me $8400. in a Loyalty Financial  ?&^%%?$  Grant. I told him that his accent was pretty strong and I couldn't understand him. I made him spell the word Assistance out. I toyed with him for a bit...He said he could send me the money in 45 minutes and put it directly on my card. I told him that was nice but I didn't feel comfortable giving out my numbers. He assured me that he could put the money on any card, ie, Taco Bell, Wal Mart, but preferred VISA because they came through quicker. Then I asked if my Country wanted to give me money for being such a great citizen why wouldn't they just send me a check. He replied because they've had too many complaints about checks not making it to their destinations. But, if that's the way I wanted to receive my Loyalty Financial Assistance Grant I could as soon as my Transaction Fee was paid. I finally had enough and told him he wasn't from the US Department of Treasury and he needed to take me off their call list. He still insisted on arguing with me that he was. I finally told him I was contacting the real American Treasury Department and once again told him to not call me again.....as he was still talking, I hung up on him. I then called 800-447-8477 and spoke with the ftc and filed a complaint. She suggested I call The Attorney General in my state (which is Michigan) to report it here also. So I did, only to get a female listen to my story and laugh and say there's nothing they can do. Which, I knew but she was so aloof it didn't seem right.

same story called me twice in 2 hours on the anniversary of Boston Marathon Bombing????????? whos gonna do something about this!

I immediately said to remove me from their list. A man with an accent started saying I miss you baby and being derogatory. I hung up and blocked the number.

I told them I just looked up their number and read its a scam and they hung up

Got 2 calls from this # so far. Got kind of frreaked out. Said wad from dc. Figyured wats wrong. Never answered. B@$?!es.
