3 calls yesterday. I didn't answer, no message left. I answered today to a female with a thick Indian accent saying I was "randomly selected by U.S. Treasury" to receive $8400. I stated I was not interested and asked to be removed from database.

They just called me and they are not the first to try. The said I too one a great deal of money that the government wanted to give me out of so many people for the year. So, I knew it was a scam but I played along and they told me that they need plastic wear to send the money too me. I asked the question like visa , he responded yes. I explained to him that I do not have any cards to use but you can send it too me by check. His response was I would have to pay a one time fee of $200 dollars  I said the mail does not cost that much and he would have to just take it out of the money he claimed I won. He responded that he could not do that either. Then I asked him to send the information to me be mail and I will write a check after reading it. That was not what he wanted too hear. Seeing that he was not getting anywhere he simply said he was sorry that he could not help me.  What a scam!!!!!

These people have been calling me nonstop.  I do not answer the telephone if I do not know who it is.  I looked it up on the internet and found this great site where I could find out that they are out to scam and spam people.  Why isn't this number stopped by the FCC? Also, NEVER would answer ANY number with "666" in it.

I have been getting calls from this number daily for more than a week. Today the man with very thick accent said he was James Morgan from the US treasury dept and I asked what he wanted and phn call was disconnected. When I try to call back I get a busy signal.
Other calls from this number I have hung up on only to have an immediate call from unknown number.
When I don't answer the caller does not leave a massage

several calls from the number 1-202-666-2701.I have no idea whose making these calls they need to stop.

Just got a call from this number, when I said, "Hello", they just hung up.  I had gotten the same call for the last several days. the caller has a heavy arabian or indian accent and says that I've won some money or something to that effect. I told them to stop calling me. So now they just call and hang up.

I posted above already.  These same scam artists call from a variety of numbers and sometimes their scam changes.  Recently they are calling me saying they work at the Microsoft office and my computer is sending them information that I have been infected with  malicious viruses.  They want to help by getting access to my computer and my account. They will fix it for a price.  I told them I don't have a Microsoft computer, I use Linux. They hung up.  The number I'm currently getting calls from is now 630-668-9832.  They are from India and they are using Voip proxy to establish phony phone numbers so that they will be hard to trace.  This is why when you call them back you can't get through, the numbers are temporary and done through the internet instead of via real phone numbers, this way they think they cannot be traced.  They are all scams.  Please report them to the ftc.  They will call you sometimes every hour of the day, and sometimes just every few days, but they will not leave you alone and they will call on several different phone numbers with a variety of different scams.  Trust me.

I have been receiving the same type of calls from the same no. Initially I missed it, So as a courtesy I called back and everytime it went on busy note. I suspected something fishy there and Googled for it. I am sure that this is some kind of fraud after reading all above mentioned comments. I added the no to the blocked no. list.

This number just called me stating that I have grant money that never needs to be paid back and I must admit they almost had me because I am currently searching fro grants to help pay for school. Sh e asked me for a bank account and I told her I don't believe I have any grant money and she just hung up. I called the number back and it was "disconnected". This is a bunch of bs if you ask me!

just got a call from the same number and he siad "is this drake" i said no and then he kept calleing me till i anwered and i screamed at him, and he said "F*** YOU" to me and cussed him back and i said your from WASHINGTON D.C and then he hung u the phone

This person (female) did not give name just caled me from this number 202-666-8547 asked for me by my first and last name.  I told her that "I am sorry I can not understand you!" lots of voices in the background.  This is a mobile phone sevice by Verizon.  I am going to file a complaint on the Verizon website regarding this number.  Verizon is the primary culprit of giving out our DNC numbers.  I HATE Mobil phone services.  Look up from your "device" and talk to each other face to face.  Let's try to be human again.

These idiots have been calling my home asking for my 13 year old daughter. Once I asked what this call was in reference to and told him I was her mom, he hung up. I hope ppl are not falling for this stupid sh*t.

I was called today by this same number but the guy didn't tell me anything about the government sending me money, the guy asked me how I was doing today. i replied that I was doing good and he said are you sure you are doing good... He then said he was coming to see me today and hung up on me. Really freaky. He also had an accent.

Keep getting same call I just got this number twice in row didn't answer I got a call yesterday from a 3 dodger number a 203 what the heck is that I called a do not call number to take my number off lists so people can't call me!!!!!

I too was told that they had 8,400 dollars in free grant money from the United States Government and all I had to do was claim it. First they needed some info; I told the man "Steven" who sounded like he was from iraq "if the Government had money for me then the treasury department would call, not someone who sounded like they were in a crowded coffee house and I'm sure they would speak better English". "Steven" of course got angry and said "if I wanted to argue with him that the money was no longer available". Oh my how heart breaking.... NOT considering the Government doesn't give FREE anything, we all have to pay in some way.

I've been getting calls from this number for the last couple of days and after reading these comments I picked up knowing full well it was a scam. There was a long delay and then some lady with  an accent asked for my husband(she couldn't even pronounce McCarthy). I acted liked i was interested in receiving this fake $8400 from the government and told her to send a check. She said she needed my bank info( I think, couldn't even understand what she was saying). I told her I knew it was a scam and to take me off the list.

i jus gave these people my stuff in now i feel stupid it is a scam an when i told the lady that i kno they are scam she jus hung up so yes this is a scam  well damn

I just received a call from this number 202-666-8547. They stayed on the phone for a moment then hung up. I answer all phone calls because I pay the phone bill and I don't owe anyone money. When I tried to call the number back... it just says all circuits are busy.

Said the US Government has selected me because I pay my taxes on time so they are awarding me an $8500 grant.
Said he was in Wash, DC.
I asked him if he as going to ask for my bank info next and he said thats right, but i seemed nervous about giving out that info, so he told me to just go to Walmart and buy a prepaid Visa credit card and he'd call back tomorrow to transfer the money onto it....Yea, ok buddy.
Tried to call the # back and its an operator recording saying all circuits are busy.

I get like 5 to 10 calls a day from this number totally annoying

Hey thanx for you all postings I have been receiving calls from the same ppl but very Leary as good as they make it sound I'm glad I didn't fall subject praying those that did give info that they pay for robbing hard working ppl God bless u :)

This number just started calling my home multiple times a day -- and leaves no message.

2026668547 called today. Almost always a different number. Sometimes they leave messages about threats of an arrest warrent or "3-4 charges against me" or just no message at all. STOP CALLING ME *uckers!

In the mean time I do this:
Send a text to "9999" and put in the text message "BLOCK" and the phone number (9 digits, no spaces or dashes)

They will be blocked for free.

I keep getting them and they have become fewer and fewer a day now. Maybe 2-3 as a posed to 15-20 like before.
