I got a call from that exact number but it was an indian guy telling me i qualified for a $8400 grant from the us goverment grant department i questioned him a lot about the whole thing he told me they would wire the money into my bank account and asked me for my 16 digit card number and when i told him i didnt feel comfortable giving out my account information over the phone he said "you fool i never met anyone like you i try to help you and you waste my time" with his horrid accent lol he gave himself away by getting frustrated nd having such a strong accent maybe these people should get some americans to do the phone calls hahaha

I received a call this morning from this number. They didn't leave a meassage  but when I called back the number I got a message saying  "all the circuits are busy now".

Several times a day on my cell phone and I have rejected the number, but it still shows up on missed calls.

Got a call from this guy today! Said he was from the US Grant Department informing me that I was just randomly selected to receive $8,000 for a survey I had filled out a few months back. I have not completed a government survey, ever. Anyways, knowing it is a scam after the b***s*** government department and the lie about the survey, I start acting like I really think I am getting the money but still, question everything. I started with questions like "I have never heard of that department, tell me about it?" Then quickly got more intelligent and specific with my questions. After about 10 minutes of intense questioning the guy starts asking me for my information. He tells me they can do direct deposit, I say I'm about it but that I will not give out any account information over the phone and ask if there is a website I can go to. No, there isn't he says. I tell him I would like to discuss this with my parents because I am still having a hard time believing that the government wants to send me money. His response, and I quote, "ARE YOU F****NG KIDDING ME A***OLE! You are really pissing me off now!" the following 10 minutes of the conversation was the best minutes I have every spent on a phone. I have never laughed so hard while being called a F**GOT, A***OLE, DICK, c*** muffin, F****R, f*** face, S*** HEAD, ungrateful little b*****d, retarded ignorant f***, C***, f****ng f*** head, and some more racial terms. (capitalized ones were screamed) During this time I of course asked for his boss(just to see if he would, which he didn't), then once it was confirmed no boss was coming, I laid into him myself with my own barrage of unacceptable but situationaly appropriate racial slanders until finally and for the first time, I got him to hang up on me! That is my little victory for the day, f*** you scam artists, I always win!

I jus received a phone call  from a man that was very hard to understand ..he was asking me my address and wasn't rude at all. I tried to call back but got the same thing you guys are getting. I'm glad I looked this number up because I almost fell for it cause I'm in desperate need for help with furthering my education.

ITS A SCAM.. THEY CALLED ME TO TELLING ME THAT I GET A GOVERMENT GRANT OF $8400 BUT WANTS MY CC OR BANK ACCT NUMBER. I AM BLOCKING THE NUMBER ON MY PHONE.

we receved a call from this ph # 202-666-8801  about 20 mins ago ths sounds like all the above  calls the person was asking for my husband and tehn was very hard to understand and then call was lost  so I looked up the ph # on google and it took me to here this site so this is a scam ...  lady was Asian  decendent and very ahrd to understand and said she was from Washington DC

I too have been getting calls from 202-666-8801 AND 202-697-9205 (heavy Asian accent) saying basically the same thing about how I could get money back from some grant program.  They were asking if I was on birth control and if I have had any surgeries.  But when I questioned them, they just kept asking questions and trying to convince me that I would qualify for the money.  I just hung up on them and whenever I see area code 202, I just don't answer.  I feel that if they were legit, they would leave a message.

Just got a call, when I answered a woman said hello, paused, and hung up. Hate these calls.

I've been recieveing the same phone calls for about two weeks now. When he called today I asked him to stop calling and he hung up smh. COMPLETE SCAMM!!!!! I just added him to my block list on my phone

This number started calling several days ago and calls about twice a day.  I made the mistake of answering.  I couldn't understand what the male caller said.  Most of the time they just hang up.

This number keeps calling me. I have no idea where they got my number from, I answered the call once and no one was talking so i hung up and just ignored the calls.

they told me something about a grant...i told them not to call me anymore, then the guy, who was obviously from india, told me that he would call me everyday!!  what a bunch of crap and annoyance!

This guy has very broken english, horrible phone reception and is yelling that he is calling from the government and knows all of my information. Funny- because if he was annnnyyyy of these things (or from what I am reading) he would be a damn professional. Yes-it says District of Columbia, and you cannot call the number back w/o the fast busy signal. I am beyond annoyed and have no idea how this CREEP got my number. I had told him to stop "effin' calling me and he started yelling at me. I'm actually Actually, this number calls my phone about 6 times a day and mostly hangs up!!

I had this foreign sounding man calling for my daughter from this number numerous times, promising her grant money. He said that if she gave him her SS, bank account number and routing number he could deposit the funds in minutes. I had heard his sales pitch and told him we were not interested. He continues to call asking for my daughter. I told him several times not to call again and he could not speak to my daughter but he kept calling. The other day I was in the shower when the call came in and my daughter got the call. She almost gave him her info. When I got out of the shower she was excited that she would be getting this money and said she was supposed to call this man back with her info or he would call her back. She was angry with me when I said no way. She didnt understand. When he did call back  I told him I had called the police ( which I had) and told him all they had said to say to him. He just laughed at me and said he would keep calling until he could talk to my daughter again and that she would give him the info. Well we educated our daughter quickly and told her not to even talk to this man if he calls again and explained all of the risks involved if he should get her info.Suddenly she got it. But beware of these people.  Its the same number posted above they are calling from. The police say they are heavily targeting school age kids and the elderly. Luckily we didnt loose anything to them but I feel very sad about those that have. I have a few plans in order if he should call here again. I'm turning the tables and will become his nightmare. Its not wise to mess with my kids.

I have gotten a call from this number repeatedly. I know some of you have stated that this call is coming from a cell phone user. When I sent a text saying to Stop  that I have reported their number. I get a reply saying that the number is invalid.

Yes some Indian sounding guy keeps calling my cell from that number and asking for me by name. This has happened over 5 times in ONE DAY. Whenever I ask to be removed from the calling lisst he just says no. I am overly tired of him calling , he has a different "story" for calling each time so it is a scam for sure.

Just received a call from some guy offering me a grant from the " US Government " saying they would give me 8400 and ask for his name and company again and he got rude and started cussing me out say why don't I want this free money.. mmm nothing is free especially when it comes too the government..

This number calls me a few times a week. I answered today and he gave me the scam about a 8400 government grant. When i asked him why they were calling my cell phone, and said if it was a real government agency they would mail me something, he told me to f*** off if i didn't want the money and hung up.

I have been receiving phone calls from 202-666-8801, caller ID says District of Columbia.  The fellow has a very hard to understand his english.    You cannot call back, states number is busy.   when you tell him you want to speak to an American he gets angry and hangs up.     What I was able to deduce was that he was trying to give me a grant and I asked "why"?  and he hangs up.    Another time I asked if he was calling me from the United States and he said yes.    Very annoying.   He hasn't been able to ask me for money yet because I can't understand him.    He does ask for my full name, can't pronounce it very well.    How do I get this jerk to quit calling me.   I am on the "Do Not call List" federally and state  -- gee that works well11

Answered the called but was hung up on. Probably the White House spying on us.
