They have called and called AND CALLED my house! I finally answered just to see who it was and this woman with an accent that I could not understand was wanting my husband and he is getting a grant for $8,200. I hung up on her!!!  Come on now!!!

US department of Treasury Health and Human Services Free Grant .FRAUD!! SCAM!! Washington DC

A man called my cell phone and stated that I had been selected out of all US citizens along with 1500 other people to receive $8400.00 dollars in the form of a Federal Reserve Health and Human services grant. All I had to do was provide them with a visa card number or a checking account number, call Joyce weston @ 202-470-3388 give her the authorization number, and she would transfer the money to my account. These people already had all my personal information except my SS number. So I gave them a savings account number that had a minimal balance in it. I received a confirmation number and was tols to call Joyce Weston and she would get the money deposited into my account within 50 minutes.

When I called this woman, in order to receive the 8400.00, she asked me to wire her $230.00 dollars to cover the cost of wire transfer and the remaining money would be donated to the American Red Cross. When I asked her why her name came up on this web site as a scam, she stated that there were a lot of Joyce Weston's in the world and that it was not her.  I also told her that it was strange that the very same information that she was giving me was listed on here as a scam with the exact amounts, she continued to deny any wrong doing,  I told her she should be ashamed of trying to scam people and hung up. I called my bank and reported the Fraud.

I got the call, bad people.They girl wanted my bank UFO and gave me a site address, then she ( Angela) gave me the name and number of a guy David Walton 202-470-5468. He had a Russian accent. I asked for more information but he was very unclear so I told him I was not interested.

Yeah just like everyone else here,  I laughed free money from the treasury. Hahaha I was in the military surprise. Click hahaha

I just got a call from that same number like ten munites ago saying that they were calling from the us government department and that i Qualified for 8400 dollars and when they asked what account would I like that money to go to i said which everone and the said f*** then hung up .be careful

got a call today it was a hang up call than again the amount of spam calls im receiving is insane and ive gotten tired of it so im not very nice when i answer the phone

I got called twice,she asked for me by name and said she was from the treasury dept. I laughed and said really,what can i do for you and she hung up on me.rude! Lol

WHO THE HELL KEEPS CALLING ME FROM THIS NUMBER!

Received a call today from a woman explaining I have been chosen to receive a grant for 8400.00. Tax free and didn't have to be repaid.  She explained the money would be deposited within 40-45 minutes and once I gave her my information I would receive her account info and a call back number.  Told her to give me her name account number call back number and rep id and she hung up. This is so sad that people are doing this. Especially around the holidays. Because for all of us who told them NO there is someone very gullible and nieve who probably gave them access to their accounts. I pray whomever it is is caught and stopped.

that's what happened to me except I didn't call the number I thought the dude said a dean baker would answer the phone!!! he knew my first and last name and now im nervous he might screw me over!!!!

I just got the same call but the lady that i could hardly understand already new my info. she knew my bank account  #'s my SSN and easy also my address ect. She said that she just wanted to verify that it was me on the phone. She then gave me a verification # and a phone Number to call to make the transaction(202-391-0969) A Mr. Vacker picked up and told that i was picked like you guys and that i would receive the 8,400.00 in 40 to 45 min. in my account after i paid a $215 processing fee. I told him i did not have the money at the moment and he just said call back when i did. He also said that the grant was limited and should call back soon.

I spoke with this Indian guy for 15 minutes. He was telling me I was eligible to receive a $8000 grant for paying my taxes and not having a critical record. I asked for them to send me a check and he said he needed my credit card # or bank account # to put the money. I told him to go scam somebody else.

SAME AS FOR ME, THEY CALL ME AND THEY ASKED ME ABOUT MY SAVING ACCOUNT OR CHECKING ACCOUNT THIS IS NOT INSANE.

The "Treasury Department" does not call random people saying they qualify for "free money" because they've paid their taxes on time and have no criminal history.  This is a scam.  The REAL site for government grants is www.grants.gov - and they do NOT ask for money.  

Also, to get ANY grant, you would have to actually apply for it.  So, red flag #1 - you were cold-called and offered a grant you never applied for.  Red flag #2 - the website is definitely NOT legitimate.  Also want to add - the website you gave is offering CANADIAN grants, loans and has spam ads all over the place - hardly a legitimate government site.

I too got this call yesterday staying it was the treasury department offering me free money because I've paid my taxes on time and no criminal history. Trying to do more research and asked them to give me a website so I can find out if it was legit. Was referred to http://www.us-government-grants.org/ it doesn't look legit to me honestly

Same as for me, repeatedly they call and I tell them to take my number off their list--they say they are from the treasury department and want to give me money--this is sick--no wonder we are being destroyed as a nation.

I keep receiving calls from this #.  I am not usually home when they call and all they do is say 'hello' over and over again.
no reference, no call back #, nothing

Keep getting calls from this number. Finally answered it and it was someone whom I could barely understand with other peoples' jumbled conversation and laughing in the background. She stated that I was randomly selected for a govnt loan of $8500 for paying my bills on time and not having a criminal record so long as I didn't use the money for illegal purposes. I obviously told her I didn't trust this and she then hung up.
