Just got a call like this left on my voicemail. I will not be calling them back to verify anything. So they can kiss it!! Damn spammers!!

I received that call while at work from the automated system yesterday....the amount was 2173 and i asked sooooooooo many questions without answering them that he hung up on me...lol they have all my old info, like yrs old...i just had to laugh but the google search done on that phone number shows in westchester dc...fyi i work for the irs lmao so i know the office that sends u state info from them comes from virginia....keep ya eyes n ears open

I got a call from 202-670-8602 about an IRS refund of 2173 in a robot voice. My wife told me to forget it no account info over the phone so I hung up and told the guy have a nice day!!!

I received the same call.

Just to let you know they had mine also but only the

last four (4) digits.  Maybe the will help set you

at ease a little bit but still watch bank accounts and

other things close for the next month or two.

Called with a digital voice saying that was the I. R. S.

Offered $2173 in mistake made by the  I. R. S. and for

a fee of $160 they would deposit to bank account or mail

check.  The reason I know this is a scam is have communicated

with I. R. S. and they have my current address.  This place

did not....Also the phone connection was poor and heavy accent

from a woman named Mike

I just got this call today from the number claiming to be the IRS and clearly it sounds too good to be true.  I refused to confirm any of the information at which point the Indian "gentleman" on the other end of the phone stated he would send the funds to my address via USPS in 3 business days.  Ummm yeah right. SCAM.

I also received a call from this same number and they said it was the IRS. The recording was so fake, using a recording of someone' s voice, which was really low in tone.

We both got a phone call.  Obviously it's another type of scammer trying to get a hold of our hard earned cash.  Remember, "If it sounds too good to be true....IT USUALLY IS!"  Best thing to do is to look up the best agency to report this phone number to.  Let's get these thieves off the phone lines.  

Maybe the IRS, or some District Attorney of what ever city you live in.  There is usually a Complaint or Fraud department in each major city to report this type of scam....  Good luck to all...PS  Tell your friends on facebook, or by word of mouth let people out there know about this type of scam.

I just got the same call & he had all my info.....only thing is I can't freeze anything until Monday when my bank opens again because of the weekend

i got a call from this number today, and it was automated, telling me that i am due a refund from the IRS, and that they want to credit my account, they just need my information.. i tried to call back and it just rang until the line went dead. most likely it is another scam best thing to do is contact the Federal Trade Commision on there website, and you can also get there number, as i have had to call them before a few months back when there was another scam going on, that had to do with an pay day loan company that i never even looked into.

Same number called and left a vm saying I have 2000 waiting on me!! Yea right!! They wanted me to call back to verify some things!!

Received automated call an hour ago, stating that the IRS made a mistake and I am due $2173...This is really awful to do to folks...What does it take to get these scammers stopped!!!!  Of course I didnt even bother calling them back, the IRS doesnt call you, they will send you a certified letter if there was a mistake....Funny thing is I didnt even file my taxes yet for this year....Key word in their message was to call back to verify information, meaning they want your account number....Not happening, they ought to be prosecuted for impersonating the IRS!!!!

Same thing, I received the same message, and same dollar amount. I never called the number. Instead found this site by internet search the number.

Want personal bank info and funds from $150-175 to send refund check that does not exist.

I just received an automated voicemail stating the same thing and the exact amount of $2173 for refund. This is not real and I would not give anyone my bank info. I was not due a refund

IF YOU'VE EVER APPLIED FOR A LOAN THROUGH THAT SCAMMING "WESTERN SKY" THEN YOU KNOW HAVE THE ANSWER TO HOW THEY GOT ALL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.  DO YOU THINK ITS A CONINCIDENCE THAT THE CALLS ARE FROM AN "INDIAN RESERVATION?"  NOT HARDLY!

i got a call from this # also, but they had all mt information i froze everything and changed account information.

Message left said that I had a refund coming of $2173 and all I had to do was call back and give them all my information. When I called back, person had strong accent as someone from India and he said that I had errors on my previous years tax forms and that I was entitled to $2173 refund and all I had to do was pay a $172 fee and then they would deposit my refund into my account. I told them that I did not have an account and that they would have to send me a paper check but before they could do that I had to pay the $172. When asked to take that amount out of the refund check they said that they could not.

Received a message on my answering machine claiming it was the IRS and a mistake was made on a couple years of my taxes, and I had $2173 coming back. I was told to give my bank account number in order to transfer the money to my account but there was a small penalty of $150 that I would have to pay to get it.

The caller ID said Washington DC

Had a strong India Accent.

Just got same phone call from same number for same amount, $2173. Made me hope, unfortunately. I spoke to an actual person (who was Indian, from India) and he gave me their physical address (which IS the IRS building) and phone number (which is this one we're discussing) and told me what to do. Sounded unbelievable cuz I could really use the money, but too good to be true. So then I would have sent them (via Western Union or some other way) $170 and never had money deposited into my acct. They had my SSN but ALSO last 4 digits of my bank account number! Made it seem more likely to be true. NOW it's just scary!!

i got the same call and they wont me to pay a penalty fee of $170 in order to get my $2173 sent to me.and that they wore the IRS i told him i dont have the money and he told me that i had i week to come up with the money to call bake.then give his ext' 204.and he now where i bank and the last for diggets of my ssi numbear.for i did not give it to them so how did they get it,will i ame not sending them no money i have never had to do that befor why now.i wish someone would do something about these people that are frauding us of are hard earnd money.

Just got a call from them as well. Saying they're from IRS. Informing me I have  $2173 owed to me. Haha yeah right.  This is definitely some sort of scam.

I just got a call from this number and I will be doing a report against this company talking about depositing tax money owes to me and claiming to be IRS. This is fraud and I will reported.

The automated call says it is from the Internal Revenue Service and that they owe you a refund of 2173.00.  Please call back to 202-670-8602 to verify your credentials.  Being skeptical; As I am expecting a refund from the IRS, I decided to call my tax agent to ask if the call was about that. He assured me that the IRS would never call with an automated call system to tell me that they owe me the refund.   I assumed it was a scam and I am correct.   Do not verify any information with this IRS call back number.

I just got the message and it actually sounded like an Indian robot woman with a slur when she spoke with first words of her sentences. Hard to understand kind of. It was left on my voicemail to call and I would receive $2173 after I would verify my credentials from an IRS Stimulant package Hmmm, crazy world we live in these days. I hope people do not fall for this crap.

When I called the number back it rang about 7 times and then I heard a loud beep and then nothing after that! Yeah, it sounds like the IRS if you ask me.......whatever. These people need to be stopped, praying on innocent victims, which I am sure there are some out there that have been taken to the cleaners.
