PLEASE  NOTE !!!   THESE  SCAMMERS  ARE ALSO IMPERSONATING   THE  US  GOV'T /  SEVERAL  GOV'T  OFFICES AND   PERSONS....BEWARE !!!

-  new  twist  is  they  are   also  impersonating  DEA  officials  /  IRS   etc....  with  threats  to  arrest you  unless  you  immediately  send money  via  wire   transfer /  western  union   to some   offshore  country  !!!!!   obvious  scam  !!!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign call centers  /  countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's   other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  calling  on  behalf  of  a  humane  society..... $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money......../   conducting  some  "  unknown  survey "........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  your  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

Constantly getting these annoying calls - no one is ever there when & IF we do answer.  I now just pick up & hang up to get rid of them.  The Do Not Call list is a joke - doesn't include these parasites.  Wish companies or individuals using this system would realize how very many people do NOT like to be bothered day & night & weekends like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    LEAVE US ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just received the Romney version of this call showing the wireless caller on the ID. Recording was some spastic dude proclaiming my need to join the winning lottery Romney created? Not answered and erased from machine. Big waste of time from lowlifes.

Don't know if this would work.  Has anyone ever tried wasting THEIR time?  Just keep them on the line, pretend you're going along with it, and then hang up when you feel you've sufficiently wasted their time.  I think the next time someone calls, I'll pretend I'm hard of hearing & keep asking them to speak more loudly.  They might put me on a list to not call again, as it would be a waste of their time.

Caller ID showed "Wireless Caller."  Guess this is a new tactic.  I turned on my ans. machine, and the calling party hung up.  : )

I have landline calls forwarded to my cell.  I check this website, identify the number as telemarketing and then add the number in a contact folder I labeled "Junk".  It has no ringtone, so although I deal with the number initially, they can't bother me ever again on that phone number.  And yes, there have been instances (as I've seen on my call list) where they try again.

Received a call from this number around 7;45 P.M, I did not answer as I did not recognize the number;and no one left a message on the answering machine.

All I know is that they said they were from the Obama for hope committee

Don't people get it? If you answer or CALL BACK, even to remove your name from their "list", you're doing nothing but confirming you have a valid working number - one ripe for even more calls and from other  companies too?

And as far as "going to a cell phone" to eliminate getting these? Forget it. These companies have no pride and will call your cell number too. Nothing stops them except just ignoring them! Unless of course you create a "Do Not Answer" contact and add these numbers to it. At least then you'll know not to answer these A$$h0les!

How dare they call me

I just got called twice within five minutes by the same number (202) 695 8950.  I showed up on my caller id as wireless caller.  If I don't know the phone number when it shows up on my caller id I don't answer it.  I wait and see if the leave a message.  If they leave a message and it still someone I don't know I will sometimes call them back and ask them to remove me from there calling list and ask them not to call me any more.  If they are calling for Obama or Romney I call them back and ask them to remove my name because I would vote for either JACK***ES.  I will not and shall not support either one.

Yes, but I wouldn't answer it. I opened up the phone, waited 15 seconds and hung up. Don't want to know who called if they can't represent themselves openly an honestly.

202 695 8950  "'Wireless Caller"   Leaves no message; when I try to immediately call back, I get a recording saying "We're sorry you have reached a number that is no longer in service or has been disconnected"  Really, how can that be - they just called me ten seconds ago.  What's the point of having our number on the Do Not Call register?  Fed up - why can't something be done about this???  We have our phone for our convenience, not  these clowns.

Said they were collecting for Romney - wanted credit card number etc etc.  Very convincing

Additional Info: (202) 695-8950 is a spoofed caller ID Number... Not even a real Number... This is definately yet another Scam... So annoying..

In reference to my latest Scam phone call from (202) 695-8950. I hear you Dakota! I'm getting phone calls all day long from this latest phony political contribution Scam! There is no way to block them as they just use a different number every time. For the high price I am paying my cable company; it's just not worth it or right that we have to be paying for phone service only to be harrassed by these @ssholes!!!  95% of the phone calls I receive are Scam calls any more! If it not the political Scam; it's the "We are from MIcrosoft and your computer has a virus" Scam. They use different Numbers; "Unknown Caller"; Out of Area"; "Private Caller" and any other way they can come up with to bypass your digital phone blocking feature! -- The cable companies don't seem to be interested in coming up with a way to stop this either... And the National Do Not Call List??? Forget that! It's totally worthless. Many of these Scams are coming from 3rd. world foreign countries anyway and there's no way to fine them or catch them.... Getting ready to disconnect my digital phone and go totally to a good cell phone here.......

Apparently, this is one of the newest spoofed numbers in a fake political contribution scam.    Caller ID name read "Washington    DC" as it does for about 50 or more other numbers being used.   I don't answer -- but just disconnect the calls.    Ready to tell the phone company (actually, it's the cable company) to disconnect my phone service because it has become more trouble than it's worth.
