I was given a money approval number from  the grant authority, and 202-697-9034 to call back and speak with the account manager, Sam "Benjamin." I chose the cash option and was told to go to the nearest Western Union and call back at that time.I would need to bring $330 in order for the check to be instantly transmitted For the $7,000 along with the $330 in return. "Why," I asked, "would I have to pay extra when you can take it out of the grant money?"  "Ma'am, the government check has already cut and signed with that amount, and the extra is a processing fee." What a crock of dung!!

They said they did a survey in my area and because I have never filed bankruptcy the government wanted to give me 7000$ to go back to school or pay bills with.

Received call I was awarded grant of $7000. Wanted to know if I wanted to receive cash or on my debit or credit card. I asked about on a check, they said they could not do that at this time. Are you kidding me? the government handing out cash?  LOLOLOL

The called me I played along gave an old card number then looked up number found this site and called them back and told them off anywhere caught!!! Lol

Called from a different number and told me they were calling from federal reserve, mentioned that I have received a federal grant of $9000. They provided me with a confirmation number to activate my account, and they gave me a number to call to set all of that up. I reconfirmed where they were calling from the lady said Federal Government Family Services Department and her name is "MRS. Jennifer Johnson"

Definitely fake! I work for the government we don't use indian accent people lol

this scam is so obvious,it's funny.
the govt, unless itwould be the IRS is not going to send you $$$ for the fun of it.

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign call centers  /  countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers mostly  in   INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  calling  on  behalf  of  a  humane  society..... $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

Daughter got a call from the same number offering Grant Money that she applied for if she made a $200 deposit. Something sounds fishy.
