Got called today in Evanston, il. Same tag line as reported above. Call came from 256-525-0640 was told to call 202-687-9771 to confirm and make arrangements for my 7000$. Caller hung up when I stated that I would be calling the police to confirm this.

this person calling from this number is a scam artist and something really should be done about it.

The exact same person for me to call.  John Cooper with an Indian accent.  I just hope they havent caught anyone up with this nonsense.  times are to hard. Have a great day.

I just received this same call stating to bring 290.00 cash to western union for a 7000.00 grant. Reason is because I have no criminal record and i pay my bills on time.. Right there I knew it was a lie.  Lol

Received the same call today 1/9/13 told me to go to the western union and take $320. To pick up the $7,000 and I would be reimbursed the $320 front the IRS.  New it was a scam because never heard of paying out money to receive a free grant from the government . A lady called told me to call her boss John Cooper at 202-697-9771

Scam call wanted to give gov. Grant $7,000 to me but needed my bank account information.  Told me to call 202-697-9771 to get it.  But caller Id showed 279-657-8766 Kentucky but checked number out and it is not a valid number.

I recieved a call from this number saying i was selected to recieve a $7,000 grant from the government because i hav no criminal history the caller had and indian accent and wanted me to go to western union and make a $280.00 deposit to recieve the grant money i reported this to the F.T.C. There was also another number it was 270-657-8766 if u recieve a call like this please reort it! the number to the F.T.C. IS 1-877-382-4357
