Just got off the phone with 2027381511. She told me the story of how it was selected to receive 7800 from the federal government greens dept, then gave me another number,  2024079055 to call. Didn't call back but glad you posted 800 notes to let people know that this is bogus. Lots of weird things going on...

I had the same exact phone call just now. Did you ever find out any other information?

You cannot make them stop.  Call blocker is your best bet.

They are scammers located in India.  They are beyond the reach of US laws.  They are criminals and they ignore all laws. No legal steps can be taken against them.  The US government can't do anything and the Indian government does little.

I got a call from this number telling me the same thing lady name was Nancy Cooper. she give me the confirmation  number for $7,800 claim and told me to call Senior Acct officer @202-738-1393 to claim this money. I did not call.

I kept getting calls on my cell from 202-738-1511.  I was just hanging up as didn't recognize the this number.  I decided to see if could trance it and found this site. I then got called again and a woman speaking in broken English asked for me by name.  She even knew my last name. She said she was calling from Washington D.C., that I had been chosen to receive an $800.00 Federal grant.  I asked her if this was one of those scams. She said:  "no, this is not a scam."  Well because I knew better I then said "if you think I'm a sucker for this BS, guess again lady...don't ever call this number again...got it, get it, good!"  I then hung up on her. About an hour later I called her number to see what happens.  I got a recorded message saying "this number is not in service."  WOW...who would have guessed...LOL (laugh out loud).  We need some kind of cyber sheriff who can track these a***oles down...throw them under a bus,

They call all time, twice this morning alone. I have experience with the federal government, and experience as both a grand maker and a grant recipient, and I can tell you this is a scam garbage. The system simply doesn't work that way. The government will never notify you by phone about receiving a grant, and all federal grants require a rather lengthy application to be submitted and reviewed. Cards from Walmart, or any sort of personal information would never be requested for a legitimate grant.

That said, how do we make them stop? If you track the myriad complaints on this and other sites, you will see that they have been at this for many years now. The fact that I, and I am sure many of us, am on the national do not call Registry, seems to make no impact, so the real question is why is this allowed to continue? They are not a charity or nonprofit, nor are they affiliated with the federal government. Further, they are impersonating the federal government. Shouldn't some legal steps be taken?

This number keeps calling my phone but I don't answer and just looked it up and found all this. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize and let them leave messages if necessary. Now I'm glad I didn't answer!

I got a call from 202-738-1511. I answered it on speaker phone so they would think it was an important office that they called.

The moron asked if I was Keenan (I missed the last name), to which I replied 'no'. The moron continues by asking if this was and gave the first 9 digits of my phone number, then missed the last number by one, and I again told him that he was mistaken.

The moron has the kahonies to ask me my name, and I told him 'NO!' (Call me up and them ask me for my name; are you crazy?). The moron continues with, 'So, I will mark down that this is [the one digit off number] and I am speaking to 'Keenan', okay?'

No, you are totally wrong! (Enter the hung up on me phone tone!)

i got a call today say i won gran money of 7800..looked the number up online and seen this?and then i called the number back and it said it was disconnected?so its a scam the guy said is name was mari moore? he gave me another number to call him back at? 202 738 1393 ext 121 i believe its a scam?don't trust...

They are still at it. Three calls in the past few days. Tried calling back and got "# is disconnected."

Wish I could block it.

I use the android app Call Control on my samsung G5. Verizon would only let me block so many, and this will block any and all numbers I want added to my black list.

It has done me well, and a lot of aggravation is gone. since they can put anything they want as to the number they are calling from, I have answered a few by accident  I'll let em talk a second and then give them the air horn as my response. If I see the number on my recent phone calls, I check the number here and then add to my black list.
And with all the comments from everyone, it's such a big help.

This is a scam.  

It cannot be investigated because they are not in the US.  They are spoofing US numbers from outside the country.  

Do not send them money.  Shout into the phone as loud as you can that you know they are scammers and thieves and hang up.  This will stop the calls for a couple of months.

I just got the exact same phone call, when I told the guy you are a scam he said oh how do you know I am a scam, I said because I looked you up on the internet, he says oh well can you read back to me the number that I am calling you from, I said you know what number you are calling from and I am not going to be part of your scam then I hung up.  But he said I was going to receive $7800.00 because I paid my taxes on time and I didn't have a criminal record, that it was a one time deal.  He wanted me to buy a Green dot money card too.   Also in the background I heard ALOT of other people talking so this is a good sized operation.  Beware everyone!!

Total scam. Told me to Suck It when I asked to be removed from their calling list.

the same call i received last friday my husband told me its a scam and today i received 3 calls from the same number but i did not answer.

CALL AND WANTS ME TO GO GET MYSELF A GREEN DOT MONEY VOUCHER, SAYING I GOT 7000 FROM GOVERNMENT GRANT MONEY! HIS NAME IS JOHN SANCHEZ 202 738 1511!  

I want to know if anyone has even tried it.. i had the same call. Her name was Janet brown. I need the money so bad but im scared it is a scam. So has anyone really gone through with it?

I got a call today from David Frost with a heavy India accent telling me I qualified for a government grant because I didn't have any arrests nor outstanding traffic tickets on my record. I would receive $7,800 if I purchased a green dot money card from Walgreens or Wal-Mart for $4.95 and then he could put  $1,000 loaded on the card. BUT if I put $150 on the card to "upgrade" the card he could put the whole amount immediately.  He said not to do it alone and as soon as I got the green dot card to call this number and they would be able to put the full amount of $7,800 on my card that would make a total of $7,950 on the card. I told him I didn't have a cell phone to call immediately and he said to just get the card, bring it back home and to call to ask just for him. Of course, I searched on line and found this site FIRST! Just how stupid do they think we are?

I just got a called from this number a guy named ryan or erik smith with a heavy accent he told me about a win a grant goverment money that i have to buy a green dor card in waltmart and fill up with money but s*** im not stupid i search for this numer and thanks god i found this information im not going give away my money the goverment doent contact you about money i got college i got grant before i was never contact not even by schools who give money for school why should i be contactby these people please dont give ir personal information to these lazy a** people i dont how in the hell they got my number;from??

I just received a phone call from this number and the man said I was selected for some kind of grant. When I asked what the grant was for he continued to read his script. When I asked him again, he said, "Oh my God" and hung up. I have a hard time believing that a person from a real government agency would be so rude and unaware. I am a busy mother and at 8am I do not have the time to sit down and listen to some script. I wasn't being rude to him and I expect any person calling me to have that same respect. I used to work in customer service. If I were ever to act the way this man did, I would have been fired on the spot. I think this line is a scam.

I received the same call. A woman called Kin Leon called me a lot of time asking if I do not want my money because if not she will cancel..

Dont fall for these people they call saying they are from the government these people talk with a heavy accent just hang up the phone
