I received a phone call from a man whom didn't speak very good english from dept. of human services and said I have a government grant of 9200.00 and for me to get a money card for them to transfer the money on. When I get the card call 1-202-738-1686 and they would put the money on the card and give me a passcode. This was the giveaway the card that they wanted does'nt take a passcode it was a money-pak green dot card. I'm going to call them and have some fun!!

Same happened to me when I called back. I could hear a lot of background noises people sayitng the same thing. I got suspicious and told this heavily Indian accent guy to never call again and I know it is a scam. First of, grants are NEVER given over a phone. Secondly, there is an official site online that we can go in to APPLY for free US gov. grants..yes, we need to apply for it. I can't belive these people. I am plnanning on sending this phone numbet to the federal authorities to trace and hopefully catch these awful people. IT IS A SCAM.

Been getting calls for over a year...diff Ph #'s..Foreign accents, Bad English. Everything from Medical Lawsuits to Computer problems...
  Now I get a Ph call...no caller ID..saying I'm owed $9200. in Grant Money. For paying my Taxes on time. Haven't worked or filed for several years!!!
  She gives me Ph # 202-738-1686 and says Be Sure and call ASAP and give a Special Grant Code she gave me.
   SURPRIISE!!!!  I GOT THE $$$!!!!
NO...SERIOUSLY...no one answers, no voice mail.
   What I don't understand is WHAT ARE THEY GETTING OUT OF IT??? Of all the Annoying calls..no one has ever asked me for ANY $$$.

Tired of these scam calls, grants, police, Microsoft to fix virus, CIA, FBI, your medications are ready, etc. I don't know what else they can come up with. They need a lot more Creativity to get me with these crap. Oh my...get a real job people don't be lazy! Steal from people and you are going straight to jail you POS!

i too got a call .. real bad connection and some thing go to walmart and get it via green dot .. very suspicious .. he gave me a website to chek http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/home.html

I just called the number and gave them the confirmation code. I could barely understand half of what the Indian guy on the other end was saying but he told me that the money would be loaded onto an MoneyPak/GreenDot card (highly suspicious, why not direct deposit it like my Tax Return?). I asked him why he didn't ask me any questions so that I could verify my identity like to confirm my birthday or phone number. He didn't even ask my name. I thought that was strange. He said he already had all my information. Fair enough, still, why didn't he ask me to confirm any of it? After prodding him for a minute to give me reason to believe that this isn't a scam he hung up on me.

I don't believe this is legit.

I just got the call saying the same things. Did not call and only answered due to not working. The number was listed as "unknown". Same money offered and given a grant code with instructions to call.

I got a call from a lady with broken English ...stated I was selected from a survey 2 receive 9200 for a financial grant ...gave me a confirmation number ..told me 2 call 202 738 1686...I didn't even think about calln

A person with a very heavy Indian accent called, said I had been approved for a Grant in the amount of $7,000 by the Health and Human Services Department, gave me an approval code and number to call. Great! I told him to send the check. LOL! Does anyone fall for this crap any more??

I got a call from a 6 digit number n I spoke to a lady whom I forgot her name. She told me she was with the department of human services n that i was elected to get a grant but I need to call 2027381686 and get info as to how I'm getting this grant. She said the grant is for financial help
