got the same call same info and a code to call 202.738.1774 to speak with lucy walker bank director. so i hung up and searched the web as i thought it was a con being done by a very stupid less than convincing amature con man lol! Was entertaining. Come to my house I got something for you and your friends.

I received the same phone call today. Thought it was legit until they told me I had to pay $230 security deposit. It's definitely a scam. Just wondering if the government is really going to do something about the scanners. Or do they even care at all?

I just got the same call except its not Edward Brown anymore its Lucy Walker at that 202-738-1774  number  to had been selected to get $9000.00 from the government cause I wasn't a criminal and payed taxes on time I haven't worked in  a few yrs so I figured I'd do some research.  Glad I did I am a mother of 4 really was excited about the money but it just didn't seem right that 2 foreign people were the only ones I could talk to. So I said F#*@ that! Thank u guys for ur comments u just saved my butt :)

today at 412 pm i got a call saying i was selected from the gov to recive 9000 $dollars grant and she ask me how i wanted to recive the money by my bank account or cash and they then they starded asking me if my info was correct  they have all my info. scarry  then she told me to call her manager lucy walk something i cant even say her name  1-202-738-17774 was the number they gave me so i called she answerd quickly and starded asking me my granted number and i ask her what makes me think u guys r not going to charge me that money? and she raised her voice at me saying that they are recording  the hole convercasion so she continued telling me to go to western union and ask for private security idk and to pay 230.00$ so i can reacive the money so i told her i couldnt today but when i got payed  so she said it was ok and she just told me she was going to be waiting for my call o and for me not to tell close family or friends. so i starded  thinking to my self if the gov. is going to give u money y would i need to pay 230.00 out of my pocket and i starded asking ppl and they told me not to do it im really scared cuz the have my information were i live my D.O.B as well thats sacry What do i do know?

It's an advance fee scam. At some point you will be told to pay for something. Shipping, tax, handling, what ever. Could also be they are sizing up suckers. Counting the number of times each number tries to phone. Narrows down the pigeon's. Otherwise, it's a scam. Check the Federal Government website, they don't call you to hand out cash. For Federal Grant's you have to apply, & there aren't many.

Yea I got a call from a 202 area code and I tried to get off the phone with the person but he quickly put me on the line with some guy from the federal goverment and he told me that I was the selected few out of dallas texas to receive a 9000 $ dollar grant and he asked how would I want to receive it note this he had all of my info and he didn't ask for any money he just old me my confirmation pin to get the grant and told me to call 2027381774 and keep calling until someone picked up I've called numerous times and the line is constantly busy is this a scam or is it they just can't get the call through I don't really know .help needed.

I got a call from caller ID A T Bigger and was told I was getting a grant for 9,000 dollars given conformation number and told to call 202-738-1774. They wanted me to send them 320 dollars for verification. The lady got really irate when I asked her if people really fell for this scam

I received a call today from 2029078527.  Certainly this lady was unable to speak fluent english.  I however, did  finally get the message that I had been selected to receive $9,000.00 from the U.S. Goverment.  Was given a confirmation number and was to call Account Manager Edward Brown. at 202-738-1774.....Was that an experience.  I would not give any of my information to him regarding my account numbers for the money to be sent to me......He was a very nasty person to deal with !!  Wanted to know "Are you Stupid" on several different times.  I finally hung up on him and then he attempted to call me back twice.....I did not answer.  1st.  The federal goverment is not going to give you anything (are these people crazy).  2nd.  Is the federal government going to do anything to stop these people from doing this ?

you need to contact the local police and fraud department if they have one or FBI with all information about your call. all so if they gave you company name you need to report to the Better Business Bureau  But most of it is just a bluff to extort money from you.

I just took a call from a lady from that Same310 number and she gave me the same 2027381774 number for Edward brown that I had to call in right away or its a federal offense. Not calling mr. Brown he can come kiss my a**.

This same phone number has been calling me for a month now and i finally answered the call yesterday which was 3/20/2013. I was informed by a lady who told me i was also to recieve $7000+ because i paid taxes on time, was not a criminal & had not filed for bankruptcy. The leured me into thinking they really were the government (WHICH THEY ARE NOT). I spoke with a man who claimed to be Edward Brown. He informed me that if i wanted to recieve this money that I needed to send him $300 through Western Union. I then told him that i did not want to do this and he started threatening me sayin he was going to have his "people" come to my house and rape me. I felt threatened for my life because this man has all my information and the exact address to my house. I dont know what to do now, scared because they know where i am at and I dont know these people. What can I do??

I received a phone call from 310-777-1324.  I was advised I was 'chosen' to receive a free government grant because I paid my taxes on time, was not a criminal, and had not filed bankruptcy.  I was to get $7000+.  Since I didn't want to give my bank account number of credit card number (duh) I could get cash, just call 202-738-1774 and talk with Edward Brown.  Well, Mr. Brown wasn't available :(.  And when I returned the call to 310-777-1324, that number 'no longer was in service', interesting.
