I looked up this number before I answered because they were calling every 9 minutes for 3 hours. Before they could say anything, I answered saying "Yes I won the $6700 from the government too." They hung up and haven't called back since.

I started receiving this call after watching a video on my Computer re entitlements----from the US Governments---I did call the number and after listening and giving my credit card number something was said which I did not like so I immediately cxld the order----and now I am cxlg and requesting a new credit card...It would seem that since they use Gov't to fool us into wanting to buy these pamphlets that the government should now be taking action to find-stop-lock up AND DEPORT THESE PEOPLE.

Person called 4 times in twenty minutes while I was at work yesterday. I did not recognize the # so kept hitting the ignore button. the fifth time I answered just to put a stop to the calls. It was a man with a middle eastern accent, with very poor English telling me I had been approved for a $6,700 grant for paying my taxes and bills on time. He had my "maiden name", correct street address, and the town I work in (which is different than where I live) and wanted my zip code...I did not give him any information, but told him to go ahead and send the check to the address he had. He did offer to directly  deposit in my bank account...RIGHT! He then gave me another # to call for verification. I did not call it, but did call my bank immediately! I think with as many people reporting this as I have seen, someone should stop them! Please make your "younger adults, and older family members" AWARE of what these people are doing! I now know how to block these #s on my phone as well!

Person was calling me numerous time, i didn't answer but Googled then number..  Once i learned who they were, the next time they called i answered..  The girl gave me the spew about Government Grants..  While she was talking, I said "wait a minute, you sound very familiar, is your Mom single.  She said yes she is..  I said,  im pretty sure i know you, I've been boning your mom for the last two week..  She started to argue with me that i didn't know her mom and i wasn't having sex with her mother..  This went on for about 5 mins.   Right at the end i said mam, I'm really a federal agent doing a fraud investigation on her and her company.  She laughed and said, you'll  never find us..  I said Mam, do you realize we have been on this phone talking for over the the last fiver minutes, she confirmed.  I said we have a court order to permitting us to trace you line and this takes only two minutes..  We now have your location and the local police will be their very shortly..  She then hung-up and i hope she was shitin her pants thinking she was busted..   Moral of this story,, i gave up on being nice to the trash people when they call me, my number is registered with the DOJ Do Not Call.  They are nothing but the scum of this earth and their mama has got to be the armpit of it..   Scums raise Scum, mamas train em so what the hell.

This number called me 5 times in 1 hour.  I have the Mr. Number app on my phone so the calls are blocked.  I am so glad I am on the Do Not Call list, what a joke.

Just got a call from this number saying I had been awarded a government grant.  I asked from which department and she hung up. Since it looks like they have been using this number several weeks, why can't they be tracked down and prosecuted?

I received a call from 202-738-6954 from a man, middle-eastern or Indian, with a heavy accent.  He told me that I had a grant from the U.S. government for $6580 for paying my taxes on time and not having a criminal record.  He asked how I would like to receive the payment.  I told him that he could send it to me in the mail.  He had my name and address, but didn't have my zip code.  I told him it should be in his file if he had all my information.  He started to get upset with me and said he was with the U.S. government out of Washington D.C.  I am wondering if this was part of the Target compromised credit card numbers.  If he got my zip code he would be able to use my credit card information by inputting my zip code.  Do not give any information out to the scammers.  They can use any information against you that you provide them.  They wouldn't be contacting you unless they still need some personal information from you in order to get at your money.  Contact your bank immediately if you happened to give any information out about yourself to the scammers.

Have been receiving calls the last couple of mornings from this number at 7:00a.m. (West Coast time).  By the time I answer the phone they had hung up.  This morning I answered and could hear the telemarketer chatter in the background.  The gentleman had an Indian accent.  He was extremely pushy and said he was from the department of U.S. Grants.  He asked "don't you know who that is?".  I said no I had never heard of them.  He was asking for my husband so I told him he was at work.  He said he would call back later.  I wanted time to "google" this phone number and info.  I, too, am worried about some unsuspecting elderly person being scammed.  I'm going to call my mother right away....and post on Facebook to get the word out.

Got a call earlier today from this number saying that I was selected to receive a grant for $6,900. When I replied: "How is that?" they hung up.

Now 4 hours later I got another call from this number, but when I answered it, they hung up right away.

How can we stop these scammers from bothering senior citizens?  There are too many of these "sick" people preying on innocent folks.

Something ought to be done!

I have been getting these calls for several days. Today I finally answered it and just what I thought it was a scam. Had some fun playing with him "oh I really won money" then said this call was being traced and he, with the indian accent, said fine report it to the federal government when we have completed this transaction. Then I pretended to be naive, the got tired of playing and hung up. My fear is they will reach an elderly person who doesn't know any better and scam then. It takes all kinds.

I told the caller to quit calling my number or I would report them. He replied he would call some more. He has called 3 more times.I tried to call the number back but it switches me to a verizon message.

This is not actually a response to anyone. I am just placing it here because this post has been reported as a number for the Grant scam:

As per the Federal Grants website at http://www.grants.gov

YOU WILL NOT BE CONTACTED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO OFFER YOU A GRANT.
The government does not contact people to offer them money. If you do qualify for a government grant, the government does not request payment for it.

THERE ARE NO FEES ASSOCIATED WITH APPLYING FOR A GOVERNMENT GRANT.
Providing financial information to prove that you qualify for a government grant is typical, but you should never pay money to apply for a grant. People who run scams often claim to provide help and sometimes claim to be "federal government" officials, don't be fooled by these scams that request money from you.

ALL GOVERNMENT GRANTS INVOLVE AN APPLICATION PROCESS
If you have not submitted an application for a government grant and someone claims you have been awarded one, it's a scam. Grant money is not given over the phone for a fee. In order to qualify for a grant you must apply for the specific opportunity that you are qualified to apply for.

GOVERNMENT GRANTS ARE AWARDED FOR EXPLICIT OPPORTUNITIES
Government Grants are typically awarded to states, cities, educational institutions, nonprofits and other organizations to fund research and other projects.

GOVERNMENT GRANT APPLICATIONS AND INFORMATION IS FREE
Be cautious of offers that ask for your personal information (especially financial) when requesting a fee to access grant information. You can always access free information about government grants and other benefits at Grants.gov and Govbenefits.gov

If you get this call, please report it to:
http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/support/general-support/grant-fraud.html
